"Oh! You are attracted," Vinanye beamed, as though he'd just completed some major puzzle. "That is so sweet!" Vinanye reached out and took Jeri's hands in his own.
"This culture is so odd! If you were attracted why did you not just say so? Blunt is good." Here Vinanye nodded. "We do not know each other very well."
It felt quite strange to Vinanye that this boy would be so drawn to him in such a short period. For all that Vinnie was kind and a gentle sort, he was not a romantic. In fact, one could say he fell on the aromantic and asexual scale, somewhere. Maybe demi. Vin wouldn't have known about most of those.
He peered around, thoughtful, mind blank for a second as he considered their next move. Vin wasn't one to feel discomfort, but he was empathetic enough to realize that Jeriya was.

He nodded gently, just enough to let Vinnie know that it was the answer he was searching for. It felt weird for him to admit to that- he had an interest in a complete stranger. The boy flushed when his hands were grabbed, wondering if Vinanye was going to pull him in for a big kiss or something like that. It seemed that Jeriya was letting his emotions and feelings control this. "Being blunt- oh sorry then." He wasn't good at being blunt though. For his entire life he had pussy footed his own emotions and others, like they were valuable artifacts.
"Y-Yes, sorry about that too." Jeri wasn't even sure if he like Vinanye like that, or if he was just hurting and heartbroken from his last experience. All he knew is that he didn't want Vinanye to feel like a rebound; though it wasn't like he even got anything out of last romance. "I'm maybe not the best at this type of stuff." His gaze went to the side as he squeezed the pretty boy's hands tightly. "I'm sorry, I just think you're really hot and sweet to me and I'd like to date yo-" One of his hands slipped away from the boys, holding onto his mouth. He was expecting his annoying power to pop out, or for him to blush so red that people would want to sell him as a beet. His eyes were snapped back to Vinnie, half wanting to just run away and hide himself somewhere if he could. He also just wanted to stay in his presence.

Vinanye remained confused over Jeryia's fumbling. Being uncomfortable was a rare experience for Vinnie, infrequent enough that the gem could hardly recognize it as an experience at all.
"Nope," Vinanye said, shaking his head. "Nope, no apologies."
Then he laughed, the sound reminiscent of windchimes. He reached out to pat Jeri's hand, the one still grasped in his own, before prying the hand Jeriya had clasped over his mouth away from his face.
"See? That is open! Open is good. No mistakes. We will see where swimming goes, yes?" With that, Vinnie tried to pull Jeri off.
Obviously, talking was not what Jeri needed. He was quite flustered! So they could swim and enjoy each others company. Not as friends or lovers, but without brandings.
