A great place to run

Nicole led the way outside, past the lake, and to the brink of the woods. Her breath came out in puffs of steam so she playfully pretended she was smoking a long cigar like she had seen some of the men in her village do. Her attention rapidly switched to the snow on the ground and she leaned down and grabbed a fistful. Slowly she began molding it in her hands, feeling the cold, icy temperatures sink into her skin as the snow took on a spherical shape.

Stephen followed a little ways behind. He tried to keep his mind off the trees around him.
'Hey Nicole. Do you want to start running now?'

Finished having a chat with the larger fire spirit, Aike drags his feet through the snow. Strangly enough for the other two, it's not melting with his footsteps. "You've got to be kidding... When I torch stuff, it's everything in the area, not a small track dodging trees..." He let his voice drift away, saying, "I tend to get carried away..." which was followed by a small laugh from the lone fire spirit by Aike's shoulder.

Nicole nodded. "Absolutely." Quickly she pitched the snowball at the other two and took off running into the deep forest, dodging trees and frozen underbrush. "Oh and Aikanaro, Don't burn any trees, only the snow!" She called back. She wanted to try to go the whole day without feeling the torturous burn of fire.

Snorting dangerously, he grabs the snowball in the air, snow turning almost instantly to steam in his palm. Positioning himself readily, his left side forward, right arm behind him, the flame on his shoulder grows to five times its normal size. His red eyes blaze and he takes off after Nicole. Though, instead of running, his right foot, lit on fire, skims the ground behind him while his arms stay at his sides. The snow touching his foot melts away, the radius getting slightly larger as seconds pass. In moments, he passes Nicole, shirt and jeans whipping behind him. Turning backwards to face her while still "floating," he growls through paper-thin firetails lacing his face and hair, "I told you I don't run."

Nicole grinned maliciously. So he wanted to play powers did he? Nicole immediately stopped running and stood next to a tree. Whispering under her breath and forming various gestures with her hands, she succeeded in fading into the tree behind her. Her laughter echoed through the woods. "You're on my turf now..." She spoke in almost a singsong voice. This spell was almost as powerful as it was old. It allowed the caster to become one with the vegetation around them but at a terrible cost. It's one great weakness was that the caster was connected to the surrounding vegetation and was thus more open to attack. However, Nicole was sure that Aikanaro and Stephen would be unfamiliar to this spell and was willing to take her chances. Besides, it was all fun and games, right?

Obviously carried away, Aike took it as a threat. With both hands and feet ablaze, the spirit on his shoulder grew again. Snearing, he let himself stand on the ground instead of drifting above it. And as if called, the medium fire spirit apeared.

Hey Aike! Great ne-...oof!

The spirit grew to a size slightly smaller than the first.

Uh oh.

Nicole watched in interest from all angles of the forest. What was he up to? Trying to spark some reaction out of him, she ordered the trees to raise their roots in his general direction but not to attack him. She only wanted to startle, not harm.

Wide eyed and grinning maliciously, Aike realizes the spell being cast controls plantlife. The fire around his left fist forms itself into an 18 inch machette.

The plants immediately receed and Nicole dettaches herself from the trees, ending the spell. "Goddess above! Watch it with that thing! Didn't I tell you not to burn anything?" She exclaims. "You could have burnt us all to hell!" She crosses her arms in frustration. "I was only doing it for fun. I wouldn't have hurt you or anything." She muttered.
