"My apologies,"

"It's okay it's not your fault after all." he said with a kind smile. He never held anyone else to blame because of his parent's death. He felt that the only one responsible was him and the killer. Percy knew if he hadn't been scared or if he had been stronger maybe they wouldn't have been killed. But he also knew that his parents wouldn't want him to look back at the past and live in torment. He wondered if he'd ever be able to look back at his life with complete satisfaction. He didn't want to seem like he was numb or selfish, he wanted to live to keep someone safe even if it meant his own life.

"Done, And thanks again, Percy."

"No problem, I expect that any man in his right mind would and should help a lady such as yourself. And those who don't are missing a wonderful oportunity to be of help to a fine lady." He said with a light smile. "It looks like Amelia will want to talk with you on the way home so it looks like this is farewell until the hoedown that is." He said with a boyish grin on his face from just thinking of bringing her to such a affair. "Oh how about I meet you in the lounge at 6?" He asked hoping that it was okay, if not he could always change the time. He figured 6 would be a good time, he didn't want to make her feel weird if he asked for a earlier or later time though if he did it'd most likely be eariler.

Amelia soon was almost there, she saw Percy and Cordelia talking. Oddly they seemed to be getting along well, she made no comment. But she approched expressionless knowing if she smiled or frowned it could make the situation odd and possibly make friendship less possible. Something about this whole situation though seemed familar, a friend hooking up a couple... She had been the reason they met, she wondered if their relationship backfired if she'd be the one being chased.

"... And those who don't are missing a wonderful oportunity to be of help to a fine lady."

Again with the compliments! Even so, Cordelia only smiled, deciding that being called a fine lady was alright. It was better than him calling her beautiful, after all. She said nothing, but her smile remained on her face.

"Oh how about I meet you in the lounge at 6?"

He made this sound like it was a date. Well, she supposed it sort of was. The woman nodded her head. "Six is good. But don't expect me to dress up for you or anything." She laughed, seeing as how it was nearly impossible for her to dress fancy. First of all, she hated fancy clothes. Second of all, all of her fancy clothes were in the back of her closet, never to see the light of day again. And third, this thing was casual anyway, so why get dressed up?

Cordelia looked to Amelia when she arrived, and was silent for a while, just looking at the younger female. She was unsure of what to say at first, but she decided that just a greeting would suffice. "Hi, Amelia," she said, beginning to walk away from Percy's home, looking back at her and expecting her to follow. After all, the four hundred year old vampire had said that she would probably want to talk to her, so she would have to follow. The woman didn't slow her pace for her, though, seeing as how she didn't want to. Plus, her pace was already sort of slow so that she wouldn't damage her wound any more.

"Six is good. But don't expect me to dress up for you or anything."

He chuckled "I won't be, I'll just be happy if you show up and don't ditch me. It wouldn't be the first time, but I hope you wouldn't do something so mean. Though you can beat me up anytime." He said with a light chuckle, he knew this would probably be something he'd enjoy to tease her on seeing she liked to beat men and he was so desparate for the touch of a woman even though it could turn fatal. He found Cordelia quite a charming person, he hoped that all worked out for her in the future.

"Hi Cordelia." She exchanged, she thought for a second following Cordelia. "I'm sorry about laughing, I only thought that the situation was a bit funny because of Percy. I wasn't laughing at the fact that he was annoying you. And I'm sorry that it hurt you." She said hanging her head in guilt, though what Cordelia had insinuated was wrong as well. She wanted Cordelia and her to be friends and not lose the ability of friendship with her because of some stupid fight.

Percy watched the two leave, he thought about the night he became. How the vampires turned and never looked back, the burning in his blood, the turning of cells into vampire infected cells. He remembered that pain when he watched people walking away. It was odd for him to remember such things so easily without force but he remembered hoping that someone would come through the door and help him through it. He remembered having to lay next to his parent's corpses. He remember wanting to cover them with a sheet yet unable to move. He sat down trying to push the thoughts out of his head, that terror from that night had never left him.

"I won't be, I'll just be happy if you show up and don't ditch me. It wouldn't be the first time, but I hope you wouldn't do something so mean. Though you can beat me up anytime."

Cordelia shook her head. She wouldn't ditch him, as he had put it. She wouldn't do that; once she had made a commitment to something, she usually didn't go against it. And, seeing as how she had made a commitment to go to the dance with him, she would end up doing so, unless something totally horrible and unexpected happened. As he mentioned beating him up, she rolled her eyes. "I'm not going to beat you up, Percy!" she called with a laugh, not bothering to turn her head around to look at him.

"I'm sorry about laughing, I only thought that the situation was a bit funny because of Percy. I wasn't laughing at the fact that he was annoying you. And I'm sorry that it hurt you."

She was silent for a few moments. The woman wanted to let those words hang in the air for a few moments, plus, she needed to think of what she was going to say. Cordelia continued walking, and then began to speak, not looking at Amelia, just like she hadn't looked at Percy. "You really shouldn't have been laughing at all..." she said quietly. "Perhaps him being desperate was funny to you, but, as he said, pure loneliness isn't exactly fun. You would probably be desperate too after four hundred years of living your life alone."

Wow. She was actually sticking up for a man. A man that had been flirting with her and had asked her to the hoedown... she hated it when men did such things, especially to her. What was wrong with her? She had never done this...

"And I'm glad to hear that you weren't laughing at my annoyance. Though, like I said, you shouldn't have been laughing at all..." The vampire finally rubbed her forehead, sighing. "But, whatever. Forgiven."

"I'm not going to beat you up, Percy!"

He chuckled, "Aww... But I would've loved it." He called to her with a slight snicker. He enjoyed to tease her on this subject, he rather liked her. He wondered why he was actually feeling friendly towards her. He wondered why she was acting nice, he figured he must've annoyed her enough to make her opinion of him change maybe.

"You really shouldn't have been laughing at all... Perhaps him being desperate was funny to you, but, as he said, pure loneliness isn't exactly fun. You would probably be desperate too after four hundred years of living your life alone."

Amelia was shocked, Cordelia was standing up for a man. After she nearly broke Percy's jaw now she was acting as if they were the best of friends. She definately missed something here, "I guess so." She hung her head, part of her thinking. Great now she's fallen for Percy right? The other part thinking, I wonder how long it will be until she kills him.

"And I'm glad to hear that you weren't laughing at my annoyance. Though, like I said, you shouldn't have been laughing at all... But, whatever. Forgiven."

She's lost it... She's totally lost it, she's going to the hoedown with him and talking nice with him. And not beating me or him up, something tells me something is wrong. She thought in her head, "So I guess you and Percy are friends now." She kinda stated more than asked, she wondered what changed this girl's mind. Afterall it was the same old annoying Percy, whatever could've changed her mind.

"Aww... But I would've loved it."

"And that's exactly why I'm not going to do it!" Cordelia called with a laugh. Even if she was being kind to him now, she probably wouldn't later on. She would eventually come to her senses and learn that she didn't want to be kind to him, or any other male, and didn't want to consider him a friend anymore. Eventually... well... hopefully...

"I guess so."

The woman rolled her eyes upon sensing Amelia's shock. "What? Does the fact that I can be kind surprise you?" she asked, an eyebrow raised slightly. She hadn't spoken in a really rude tone, though she didn't exactly sound happy. She waited for a response, going silent until hearing the younger female's next comment.

"So I guess you and Percy are friends now."

It was now that Cordelia turned to look at the other female. Her eyebrow was still raised, and she was silent for a few moments before speaking once again. "I suppose, sort of. Not best friends," she said, trying to convince herself that she didn't consider the older male as any more than a friend. He was the same, annoying, desperate, flirtatious Percy that she had punched earlier and hated, except she had found out he had a kind and caring side. "Is there something wrong with that?"

"And that's exactly why I'm not going to do it!"

Percy chuckled watching her walk away, he couldn't help but watch her walk off with Amelia. He wished he was taller so that he could look into her eyes without the problem of height getting in the way of that. He imagined how nice it'd be to hold a girl's hand lovingly in his own. He couldn't help but wonder if it was ever going to be possible for him.

"What? Does the fact that I can be kind surprise you?"

"No, it's just the fact that you wanted to kill him and now your friends with him. It's kinda odd the change is all... But I guess Percy does have a good side that's charming to him. Though it's odd to actually think of that." She said with a sigh, "I guess your farther on the recovery path than me. You can actually befriend those male creatures and I can't yet. I guess I'll eventually get it, but I guess I was a bit wrong about your harshness. It looks like you aren't all tough." She meant she wasn't all nails and spikes that she actually had a heart and it was a good thing.

"I suppose, sort of. Not best friends, Is there something wrong with that?"

"No, but just be careful... My relationship with Valentine started very much on the friend level, maybe you might want to be cautious. I know you aren't going to fall for him but I don't want you to get hurt either." She said to her as a worried friend.

Cordelia's eye twitched in slight anger. She was no where near the recovery path, at all. And apparently now that she was showing that she had a heart, she wasn't tough. She growled, and looked at Amelia. "Now you listen to me, Amelia," she said. "I'm NOT on the recovery path. If I was, I'd have a boyfriend by now, now wouldn't I?! There's a difference between having a friend that's a boy and being in love with a boy. You'd best learn it." She paused for just a moment. "And just me, little girl. Just because I have a heart doesn't mean I'm not tough. Got it?"

"No, but just be careful... My relationship with Valentine started very much on the friend level, maybe you might want to be cautious. I know you aren't going to fall for him but I don't want you to get hurt either."

It was this that truly and completely set Cordelia off. "How dare you..." she hissed, her face showing her anger. Who was Amelia to warn her of a broken heart? The twenty-year-old had been married, and she wasn't looking for a boyfriend. In her mind, the younger female didn't have a place to tell her anything, even if she was only talking out of concern for a friend. "You don't have to warn ME of getting hurt, Amelia. You don't have to warn me at all. I'm cautious, and I'm NOT going to fall in love with him. You haven't the right to tell ME, of all people, to be wary of friends and loved ones."

She shook her head, and picked up her pace slightly. It hurt her side to do this, but she really didn't care. She just wanted to get out of here as soon as possible. The woman needed to be alone, just to collect her thoughts and think about her previous actions. Even more so, she didn't need a little girl like Amelia to be telling her what to do.

She hung her head, she kept digging a deeper hole for herself. She tried to smooth things over with her and everything seemed to fall apart. She sighed trying to figure out what to say. Though this all was extremely hard since she wasn't very experienced with her words. She tried to place a good sentence together... "I'm sorry I didn't mean it to sound that way." She said trying to smooth things over.

She did it again, a bigger hole. She sighed, "I'm sorry I'm bad with my words I only was trying to be nice and I didn't mean that you haven't been hurt before. Nor that you aren't cautious, I just was trying..." She sighed trying to try and be a help. That's what she was trying to do, she didn't know they would get taken so badly. She wished she was better with thinking things through but it seemed that Cordelia was a bit cranky. She sighed trying to find a way to smooth things over.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean it to sound that way."

Cordelia rolled her eyes. "Yep. Mm-hm. Whatever," she said quietly. If Amelia wanted to be her friend, she was going to have to learn when to drop a topic. The twenty year old wasn't much of one for receiving apologies; they meant nothing to her, even if they were polite. She just really wanted to stop talking about this and change the subject. Or, even better, just be silent for the rest of the way to the school.

"I'm sorry I'm bad with my words I only was trying to be nice and I didn't mean that you haven't been hurt before. Nor that you aren't cautious, I just was trying..."

This girl really didn't know when to stop, did she? The vampire sighed, rubbing her forehead. "You think we could drop this now, maybe?" she asked, obviously a bit irritated. "Subject change? Silence? You pick. I refuse to talk about relationships of any sort anymore." She sighed, shaking her head. She may have just been a bit rude, but oh well. She was sure the slightly younger female would get used to it in time.
