Wynne nodded as Alby acknowledged the advice and got ready once again. So he was right handed, so expect blows hitting him on his left side rather than his right. Although Alby wasn't as challenging of a combatant as he was used to, it was nice to see how quickly he seemed to adapt and improve. Who knows? Maybe he'd even soundly beat the godling in a spar at some point. But, for now, he had to focus on the fight and give his opponent proper attention.

"Bring it on."

And Alby, surprisingly, did. His jabs seemed to improve immensely as they smacked Wynnestri's arms and the final swing had nice form as well. Wynne kept his feet locked tight this time as to not get thrown around too much. He didn't want to give too much of an opening for follow ups. "Good, very good!" Wynne smiled, returning to a more solid defensive position. "Try it again."

Once again, it hurt just to land the punches, but he was at least anticipating it this time so it wasn’t the worst thing.

The praise caused him to smile, keeping his position and nodding as it was suggested that he try it again. “You got it!”

Once again he did the exact same action, two jabs and then a right handed swing with his whole body. This one would’ve been almost identical to the last.

Wynne wasn't that surprised at the similar level that Alby was swinging at was at a peak consistency. He couldn't expect such a massive change over the course of the fight. The other boy's form was solid but now it was just repeating practice until he could follow through with his hits and make them combat worthy. Ones not meant for sparring but for actual fights. He takes the hits again, letting out a small exhale of breath at the last one.

"Very nice. Now, the other thing you'll want to do is imagine you're not punching through anything. Instinctually, you'll try and slow your hit to lessen the impact on yourself but if you want to really bring the damage you have to learn to ignore that hesitation." He lets out a small breath. "But that's also dangerous because you don't want to overthrow your strikes and then you end up either leaving yourself open or hurting yourself because your opponent's armor is too strong."

"Now, try it again."

Imagine he wasn't punching through anything? Oh, he quickly realized what Wynne meant by that. It was just like following through with a volley ball serve. Aside from the fact that hitting a person hurt a heck of a lot more than hitting a volley ball.

Luckily, it was going to take a lot more than some finger pain to stop Alby. He simply nodded along, shouting out "Right!" and making his way over once again with his arms in a defensive pose. He certainly heard what Wynne told him about being careful not to over commit, but he more or less assumed that Wynne was going to let the hits land at this point. He jabbed twice with his left arm, then put everything into a swing with his right. Had Wynne hopped out of the way, he probably would've fallen over from how much he put into this one.

Wynne grinned. He was really starting to like Alby. The guy was enthusiastic and took criticism well, but also seemed so eager to genuinely improve on his fighting technique. So it was alright that the guy wasn't much a challenge to give Wynne a full workout like Ava does. Seeing Alby get better was rewarding in its own way and, in time, he could maybe even beat Wynne one day in a straight spar. But, today was meant to be for lessons learned and the godling was ready.

As before, Wynne took the first two jabs with a solid block, but at the heavy right handed swing, he quickly sidestepped out of the way and watched the other boy stumble off. He didn't look to see if Alby actually fell or not but began to talk regardless.

"That's the other thing about putting your weight into your hits, Alby. If you put too much and throw yourself off balance, it leaves you open to counterattack. And on a real battlefield, a mistake like that could cost you your life." He smiled. "But you're improving leaps and bounds."

When Wynne sidestepped, Alby's eyes widened. He was too committed to actually stop himself and ended up smacking into the ground. After the initial pain of hitting his chin against the floor wore off, he let out a quiet "Ow" then began to laugh a little at his own stupid mistake.

He got himself back up into a sitting position as he listened to what Wynne had to say. When Wynne was finished, Alby chuckled briefly. "Leaps and bounds... get it" Then he stood up.

"That makes sense though. Going to have to be more careful in the future." He liked this, this quick improvement. His psychic powers didn't improve very fast at all but this was going well. Wynne was a good teacher. He'd go ahead and get himself into another defensive stance. "Ready?"

Wynne smirked, then winced, as Alby overstepped and crashed into the floor. It definitely didn't look pleasant from the looks of it. But, once again, the other boy sprang back up and got into a defensive stance again. It was... nice. This odd new mentorship he was developing with Alby. He was eager to learn and Wynne would definitely not mind teaching. With a quick roll of his neck, Wynne got into a defensive stance of his own, fists clenched.

"Read- wait, no." He started, then immediately relaxed his posture and moved in close to Alby. His hand began to glow with a faint off-white hum of magic and he held two fingers near the bump on Alby's chin. The boy's pain would subside and he would feel a small bit of his stamina rejuvenated as well.

"Much better." Wynne smiled, then returned to his previous fighting stance. "Now, ready!"
