Okay. This was decidedly weird. Monday knew Garry was smart. He was aware the bird understood simple language. However, he had not known the bird actually understood everything and remembered them to that degree. And this surprise was probably quite obvious to anyone looking at Monday that precise moment.

"Can you actually communicate with this blue monster on my head?" Monday asked, feeling Garry dig his claws into his scalp at that comment, and getting the real sensation that - yes - Garry DID understand everything they were saying.

It was such a big surprise for Monday that his parrot actually understood language, that Cam couldn't help but laugh when he called Garry a monster and Garry clearly didn't like that.
"Yes, I can definitely communicate with that blue sweetheart on your head."
Cam said with a small grin, and winked at Garry like they were in cahoots or something.
"I can talk to animals, and they can talk to me. You'd be surprised how much some animals understand. Let's just say an alleycat has enough information to blackmail me until I'm robbed blind."
Cam laughed again, thinking about one encounter with an alleycat that cursed up a storm on Cam's face and then proceeded to tell what it was going to do to him when he slept.

Okay, this actually surprised Monday - and greatly. He knew there were people who could talk to animals, he had just never met one - until now. Glancing upwards, he couldn't see Garry, but he could feel the birds weight and his position.

"Garry?" Monday asked quite seriously now., "Are you really a sweetheart like Camille says?" he said trying not to smile as he teased the parrot on his head.

"Garry good boy!" Garry replied rather enthusiastically as he pulled at Monday's hair with his beak, sort of grooming his owner now.

Chuckling, Monday felt himself melting at the hair thing. The bird certainly knew how to butter Monday up.

"Did you want me to put the box away for you?" Monday offered, "In fact, I might be able to do you a deal of some sort on it. I just need to check it wasn't a consigned item," he explained. Sometimes, Monday received items to sell on the behalf of others, and those he couldn't haggle too much on the price. Otherwise, he could play around and barter with the asking price.

Pets, or companions, were a very nice thing. Or at least that was how Cam felt when he saw Monday and Garry together, both their auras looking warm and joyful. As Monday offered to put the jewelry box away for him Cam shook his head.
"I'll be just having the lamp this time, thank you. But I will come back, we can haggle when we see each other again."
Cam smiled and winked playfully, now at Monday. If he was able to haggle small part of the price off Monday would see Cam was a tough opponent.

"Of course," Monday said when Camille said he just take the lamp for know. "I'll wrap it up for you too," he offered as Monday sort of turned his body, not wanting to jostle Garry too much as he made his way to the register where he wrapped the lamp carefully, putting it in a decorative box with the shop's name placed discreetly in a corner.

He then rang the lamp up, taking a small amount off, sort of a discount of sorts, and asked Camille just how he'd like to pay.

Cam held back laughter at the sight of Monday trying not to bother Garry's position too much, it was so cute. Cam followed after him to the cash register and leaned on the counter with a cheery smile, watching Monday wrap the lamp up.

When it came time to pay Cam payed with credit, very grateful for the discount he had seen Monday give him. And after saying goodbyes to both Monday and Garry Cam picked up his new purchase and headed to the post office next, to send the lamp to his mother sooner rather than later.
