Marluxa stood in front of the classroom, and though they could not see them, they were keenly away of them being the center of everyone's attention. They could hear their every whisper and taste their faintest stench of perfumes, deodorants, and natural musk. But Marluxa was used to this sort of attention when first being introduced to the class. What they were not used was being put into those itchy SA uniforms. At least they didn't the school didn't put shoes on their feet and the skirt they were wearing was no wear near as scratchy as the pants. Oh and they were not entirely alone up with in the front as they were with the one other person they had met before.

"Alright students we have two new students who will be joining us today." announced the teacher as he stood behind Marluxa and Ezra in front of the classroom. "Now go ahead an introduce yourselves. Tell the class your name, what race or species you are, and a fun interesting fact about yourselves."

"Greet greet!"
blurted out Marluxa whom just quick to introduce themselves "Name is Marluxa and Marluxa is Gleed. Marluxa can't see but Marluxa can hear and smell very good good."

"Very interesting, now its your turn to introduce yourself." spoke the teacher as he directs everyone's attention to Ezra

Ezra gave a polite bow, placing one hand behind their back as they leaned forward. "Greetings and salutations. My name is Ezra Vrall, a pleasure to make all of your acquaintances. I am from an alternate dimension but I do hope that we can get along well. An interesting fact... I suppose the fact that I can manipulate gravity is interesting to some? I am unsure."

Ezra finished their greeting before taking a seat in a nearby desk. They had been somewhat surprised to see the curious alien once more but it was almost... nice to have a familiar face in the class. Having to learn about social norms on the island is something that the Sho'lai had been putting off for some time as they felt confident in just learning through osmosis. But finding out about this class had been a major time saver. With the recent appearances of multiple groups of refugees from alternate dimensions and timelines, it would make sense that a class like this would become more commonplace.

"You may sit by me if you wish." They stated towards the Gleed, staring at the white alien with an unblinking gaze. Not that they could see the staring or anything.

"Hrmmm... fascinating. Alright you two find yourselves an open seat and we will begin today's lesson." said the teacher as they walk over to their to bring up their computer screen on the projector.

Marluxa meanwhile stands there for a moment as they debate where to sit. From what they could tell there were a few open seats but as they contemplated a familar voice called to them. It was none other than Ezra offered the chair next to him which helped answered Marluxa's question on where to sit.

"Thank thank Ezra!" chirped Marluxa, crouching down and leaps all the way over the empty desk.

"No leaping in the classrooms Marluxa. You have been warned." dryily spoke the teacher, not even looking from his computer screen as they bring up a PowerPoint titled "Humans and Myth"

"Oh Marluxa sorry sorry! Not happen again again." piped up the Gleed, hugging their legs close to their chest and wraps their arms around their knees, their tail snakes around the legs of the chair. Dispite Marluxa's cramped sitting position, they are entirely comfortable the way they are.

Ezra raised a brow at Marluxa's speech pattern, trying to decipher exactly how it functioned. They(?) seemed to repeat certain words, but the words were randomly chosen? It was never the last word in the Gleed's sentence, nor was it any specific word with a certain number of syllables nor was it based on the type of word used. In short, it seemed that there was no pattern to Marluxa's odd word repetition. A question for another time, they supposed.

As the teacher moved through the slides and began their speech on the various ways humans created and interacted with supposed mythology, Ezra glanced over at the Gleed once more. How were they processing the information compared to the Sho'lai? A lingering curiosity was beginning to settle in and they wanted to know the answer. But the teacher likely would not want interruptions during their lecture, so they bid their time. For now.

Marluxa was obvious to Ezra's glances in their direction, nor to attempts to rationalize their peculiar speech pattern. Marluxa. Instead they seemed content to "look around" or investigating their hands. At least right up until the teacher began the lesson in which Marluxa was quick to sit upright in their seat and pull out stuff from their backpack on the floor with dexterous use of their tail. The first thing looked to be a compact, typewriter device and the other looked like some black electronic tablet.

When Marluxa began to use these devices, it was clear that small typewriter was actually some sort of portable braille notetaker device while the electronic tablet a braille E-book displayer. The notetaker they set on top of their desk begins typing notes in braille like how a some students use their laptops. In their other pair of hands, they hold the tablet with one hand and reads the braille text on display with their fingers on the other.

"Thus creation myth form an important foundation for the emergence of early human society and even today narratives the reinforce the values of culture help unite an otherwise disconnected people. Now as you can see on this diagram-" recited the teacher before being interrupted by one of their new students.

"Marluxa cannot see see." blurted out the gleed as the teacher pointed to slide with arrows pointing between words myth, legend, folklore and historical fact.

"Ah... yes. I will make these slides available to you in tactile format for you after class... but for those of those can see..." the teacher then spoke out clearly what illustrated on the diagram on screen in way that made it obvious to Marluxa what was on screen. Most of the lesson focused the differences between the words on screen, importance of fact vs meaning, how the supernatural events and encounters became misremembered as legends or even myth.

"Alright students, I know that was lot of material in short time so how about we take quick break 5 to 10 minute break. If you have questions feel free to come to my desk so that we may discuss them." announced the teacher, going over to their desk to organize things.

Marluxa in the meanwhile, finished typing away and just... sits there occasionally flicking their tongue during the break.

Ezra quickly scribbled their notes down, the lettering looking slightly off as they had not been used to writing with their own hand instead of Salem's paw. The class subject was interesting but the PowerPoint was rather uninteresting in educating on the topic. If they wanted to read about the cultures of old, they could memorize a history book. The Sho'lai wanted more interconnection of people; the study of why people did the things they did. What drove them to utilize the creation myth, how they interacted with one another. Why people felt in various ways.

They paused from their minor frustration, looking towards the gleed once more. So they were unable to see? How unfortunate that they could not comprehend the world around them in the same ways others did. But perhaps it was better for them?

"So Marluxa, you are unable to see. Is it difficult for you to type without being able to visualize the screen? Or perhaps you are able to comprehend the world around you in a different manner?"

"Rhmm? No no... Marluxa's lack of eye eye never trouble trouble Marluxa. Sound... taste... touch is all Marluxa ever know know. Marluxa not understand the... cool of blue nor the rage of red for Marluxa is blind these colors and their strange strange meanings even with best explanation. Yet when Marluxa try try to explain the shape of music, the hug hug of chlorine on the tip tip of tastebud, or the message discerned when one feel feel between the groove groove?." explained the gleed.

Having been born blind, they know no other way of living. In fact, they sometimes felt sad for their peers whom are so stuck in their world of colors yet strangely blind to everything else in the world that is so plain to Marluxa.

"Do that make make sense sense? Marluxa understand if Ezra not get get."

Ezra raised a brow but said nothing for a moment. The gleed's description of their sensory interpretations was fascinating, to say the least. It also made sense that Marluxa was unaware of how colors would relate to emotion, especially without a baseline to relate to.

"I believe the idea of blue being cold stems from certain objects retaining that hue and being cold. Often times in the evening, due to the lack of light, certain objects appear to be a different color and will retain a more blueish hue. Ice also can appear to have a blue appearance. Rage of red could refer to blood lust or a heated rage? And the color red is associated with heat, more often than not."

Ezra nodded, then stopped realizing that Marluxa cannot see so nodding was pointless. "I kind of understand. Your sensory ability comes from a form of echolocation and heightened smell? If you are willing to share, I would be interested in your explanation of the shape of music."
