Aurum had gone into the forbidden forest armed with his Nemesis Daemon Hammer. He heard of tales of a demonic being haunting the woods. Something powerful yet dangerous that had taken it's refuge here. Scaring students and teachers alike. Although Octain had offered his assistance. Aurum felt the need to do this. To take this chance that it was real on his own. No one else can be injured in his own plight. The thrill of battle. The Bane he used to be to all demons. Of the tricksters or the Chaos. He needed the rush of combat. to test his skills. So they did not rust. His mind was alert as he was sealed in only SWAT armor that was tailored to him. His Terminator armor was at home. Being hopefully cleaned by his girlfriend.

He managed to get to a small clearing where the last sighting was. His mind rattled with some insecurities that he was on a goose chase. HE wasn't sure on what to do. He just...

Felt lost now. His hammer slammed on the ground as he looked around. Cursing under his breath as he gazed about. Searching the clearing. Realizing that he placed himself as bait. He was worried. Not about his well being. He was going to return home fine. He was going to make it home.. He just hoped that it was in one piece. He wasn't sure on how powerful a demon of this day and age can be. He had fought stronger with his brothers. Though on his own... Aurum was a monster in his own right. Pulling out an Iron Halo on a chain from a pocket as he placed in around his neck. Chanting for a bit as dropped to knee. Closing his eyes. Keeping his ears open for any movements of changes in the wind as he performed the proper rites of combat. To give his strength as his hand held the icon of his God, as well as had a picture of someone tucked into it. To give him the power he needed when he needed it.

"... And I shall not falter my vows.."

Every few moments he spoke up.

Awaiting for something to hear him...

To chase him...

There was something skulking about that Freddy didn't quite appreciate. Even without opening his eyes as he lay on that treetop, he could sense the energies emanating from whatever it was. They were toxic to his kind.

His kind, not him, mind you.

He'd had worse - much worse, and the energy signature actually made him reminisce fondly of the old times. It felt familiar and close to the energies thrown at him by old self-styled demonhunters. They left a few minor burns over the years, all of which ceased being relevant long forgotten eons ago.

This fire he sensed felt different though. It felt like it had potential to actually scar his eldritch skin, which proved both intimidating and exciting. However, whoever wielded it didn't seem to have noticed his presence. Which was weird as he didn't exactly take any effort to hide it on any level but physical.

He considered the possibility that it may have been influenced by his perch on a tree three times as tall as he was in his natural state. With a sigh he stood up and jumped down to the ground, dropping with an earth-shattering smash. As the dust cleared, he cricked his neck and sighed. "Fucking kids these days... don't know how to demonhunt properly..."

If somehow the leap didn't catch the man with the hammer's attention, surely Freddy's greeting would. He was some distance away from the man as he landed, and with one quick motion the air in front of him unzipped and he was standing behind the large man. "You should probably pray somewhere else, kid."

Aurum had realized that the bait... Was taken. Letting go of his idol he stood up. Radiating an almost divine energy from the darkened aura the loomed around him. He could feel the old stench clawing at his nasal cavity as he powered through it. Smelling MUCH worse from demons in his time. Standing Tall for him as he looked up at the large beast. The dust not so much obscuring his vision as he squinted. Seeing the dust settle from the crater as he saw a massive figure.

"Good thing I am not a kid. Filth" He said. He always enjoyed calling demons that. It gave him a smile that looked more of a grin. "I see the stories are true. Rather more interested in banishing the demon back from the hole in whence it came. Or killing it outright. Either or would satisfy Aurum's need to return to his original home. Back to the life he once had.

"I pray where I wish. Something you would never understand."

He said. Holding his hammer in two hands. a blue light emanating from his eyes as well as his hammer. One blow from this hammer was enough to send something more powerful back to hell. Though.. He wasn't sure on what go for. He had no brothers here. He had no back up. It was him. All alone against a creature of unknown strength.

Aurum liked his odds as he took slow steps forward. He held the hammer which the grip looked like it was the size of himself. Though wielded like it was a children's toy.

His eyes flared a blue fire as the light from the hammer almost illuminated the ground. he stood with no fear in his eyes. Even if he was walking to his own demise. He had made a promise to return to someone. And Aurum.. Always kept his promises.

"I am Aurum." He side using one hand to point the hammer towards his new foe. "I shall not allow this presence to go unheeded" He spoke. Resting the hammer on his shoulder. He was one with the hammer. He had his right hand with him.

He told the demon his name. Even if the demon he wasn't sure of had a real name. he wasn't sure if it would do any good. The true names of demons. Just knowing them from his experience was a weapon all in it's own. He knew that. Though. The demon wasn't going to make this fight any harder than it might be.

But Aurum wasn't going to either. He was going to await for the demon to make the next move. Before his own charge head first into the maw of the beast.

Freddy wasn't going to take that particular bit lying down. He leapt back fifteen feet and dusted his dress shirt. "You're a rude little shit, did you know? I fucking wore this the day I met the mother of my daughter and the least you could do is not raise a hammer at me while I'm wearing it."

This particular hunter seemed to be thirsting for battle, and even if Freddy hadn't experienced battle in forever, he still wasn't rusted enough for this to be threatening to him. He was just about itching to go, but he thought better of it. Instead he just warped himself to the top of a nearby tree. "You introduce yourself before you raise your weapon. Hunters used to have manners back in the day. They'd announce their attack and we'd return the favor by announcing our attacks. That way, there was never any unnecessary upset of balance, and we had mutual understanding before everyone started dying. Fucking kept people from coming back as vengeful spirits too."

He sat on a branch and put his hand to the nape of his neck again, pulling down with his fingers along the spine. A gap opened, and out shot two tentacles, thirty-two feet in length, reaching out in the distance and latching on to the trees that seemed to decay at their touch and turn to white chalk. "My true name is too unpronounceable for you, but the closest equivalent in the enunciation of this world is Feánon. I am ruler of my hell, and I can make bridges between any realm and any point."

He bluffed of course. He wasn't able to bridge through time as well as he wanted to, but that was all a matter of semantics. Every single point in time and space existed on a massive tapestry for him to access, though sorting through it made him feel so weak and dazed that he only really accessed specific points on it. Like that one part of his hell that was nothing but black flame elementals. They weren't particularly strong or anything, but their flames singed through almost anything.

Freddy reached out into the air and opened a gap in the sky above Aurum, momentarily exposing the vividly purple sky of his hell as the hole opened beneath the black flame elementals, dropping them down. They were demons that had a decent amount of strength, but not much else, and his hell had too many of them for his comfort anyway. "You're lucky I didn't just drop you onto them. See, unlike you, I have some fucking manners."

Vengeful spirits? Aurum could only scoff at this demon. Having a kid? A wife? He wanted to laugh. There were no children of demons. Aurum had known this from his past. Though...

"You are not welcomed into the Materium. I will banish you back to your hell."

No. Aurum's will was never going to falter from his gaze on the man.

"You speak of manners. Your kind have none. You hurt the life around you. Your foul stench makes those who are weaker puke. Your language is as foul as ever. Yet you speak to me of manners? Such is the way of demons. Such is the way of your filth. Your misbegotten kind. I am no hunter. I am a Grey Knight. I am your doom. I care not for your trivial reminiscence."

Aurum said. It had been ages since he hand been in true combat his body although. Took stride. his soul followed the imprint of his own soul of the weapon.

"Your true name is only a weapon to be used against you. Yet you give a portion of it so freely. Feánon." Aurum said as a bit of a scoff. He heard learned harder names. Like the Sixty Six names of the Greater Demon he once fought years ago to get him here.

Seeing the beasts descend to the ground. Aurum almost smirked. Tapping the side of his head. A small face mask. Almost mimicking a knight's lower portion of a helm covered his face. It was a dark silver as it hand etchings of '66' as well as a book with a sword behind it on the other side. Aurum knew what he had to do from the start. Smirking.

"You send peons do your bidding. Nothing changes. Once a coward.."

He said. Almost completely surrounded by the demons that made his very skin crawl. The thing he hated more than anything. Using his hammer as he slammed it on the ground infront of a few. A small shock wave emanating that forced a ripple in the ground. A small handful the elementals glowing blue before Vanishing into the night. As if they were just killed outright. Leaving to trace. His hammer. His Force weapon. Forced them out of existence. Before using his hammer almost like a staff as he spun it around. Hitting demons and using his foot to kick the bottom to hit any of them that come close. His eyes were vigilant. His mind was calm. He was back into the fray.

"Always a coward."

He had almost instinctively called out to his brothers with his mind. He was going to order them to assist. Then..

A cold feeling shoveled into him. For once. Aurum was alone. Even if he was alone. He could feel their spirits guiding his movements. Feeling something else. Protecting him that wasn't his God Emperor. It was something closer to his heart. The cold slowly began to vanish. His flurries of his hammer became more controlled as if his hammer was a part of his body. It wasn't just that. The hammer moved at his will. Spinning and twirling with his movements in the palms of his hands when he opened them.

He grabbed one with his hand as he slammed it into the ground. He could feel his hand burn, but this was nothing to him. Slamming it into another one as used his hammer to crush their head area. Letting out his war cry as his powers shifted. His hammer still activated as a small crown moved around his head. Spinning in a blue fire as the light from eyes cracked with electricity. Going to the halo as ever demon would feel like they were on fire deep in their core. Be slowed as well as as have issues getting close to Aurum as he kept his assault.

"I AM THE HAMMER! I AM THE BANE OF ALL DEMONS! I. AM. A. HYPERION!"

"You do know I'm just going to be fucking dropping things on you right?" Freddy asked as he lazily opened up another gap to drop even more elementals. Aurum was accidentally helping with the overpopulation problem he'd had on his mind for a while, and he was always a man who didn't hide gratitude. "You're pretty convenient population control, you know. I should've tracked you down a bit earlier, fucking get these overcrowding balls of annoying fire off my back."

He began to float off the branch, listlessly lying on the air fifty feet up. The stars above were nice to look at and observe as the sounds of elementals dying out below rang. "Never heard of Grey Knights before. I've faced worse though. Ever seen a demon civil war? I've seen at least eighty. They're really goddamned messy, and that's not a fucking pun."

The elementals wouldn't do the trick though. He knew that full well. As blatantly misguided as this Aurum person was, he was good in battle. Which was sad, as that sort of person was usually born of a world where there was nothing but war. Not even Freddy would wish that sort of existence on a person. For a demon normally thought bloodthirsty, he was surprisingly fond of peace.

However, he wasn't adverse to war either.

Freddy floated down closer. The two tentacles from his neck extended downward, opening gaps in the air that dropped massive spikes of rock around Aurum, creating a very narrow and tall arena. Then they planted themselves into the ground ten meters away from Aurum on either side. Faintly at first, there was a rumbling noise, growing louder and louder, with a bright light approaching Aurum -

"Don't miss your ride!" Freddy yelled, snapping his tentacles back up as a train came roaring through the portal.

Aurum had finished up the with Elementals. Taking a moment to take a deep breath as he stood up tall. His hammer lugged on shoulder. He had perfect synergy as he could sense others. Watching the area become an arena.

"Much like my campaign on Orzar V. You have no hope. Why not face me like a ma-"

He said. Watching the tendrils come for him as he assumed a defensive stance. Only to watch a rift opening. This wasn't going to be good since it was directed at him. Something was coming.

All of his training behind his back. All of his past. All of his training amounted for a fearsome foe....

Or a train. he could feel the world slow down around him as I took a deep breath. His hands glowing blue.

Hammerhand. he moved the hammer to the ground in a swift motion. He awaited for the train to come out fully. The rift to close. Another deep breath as he spoke.

"Batter up!"

he then swung his hammer upwards. Changing it's trajectory towards Feánon. This hit was close enough to him that the shock from the impact made him slide back. Almost hitting the wall as his hammer's top landed on the ground. Taking a moment to himself. He put some distance between him and the demon but he thought.. He should catch a ride. Grabbing the back of the train. Hoping for his moment to strike a blow on the false man but true demon. He closed his eyes as he listened to the sounds around him. Once he was close he let go. Allowing the momentum to launch at Feánon. His hammer behind his back as it glew a brilliant blue. When he got close he was going to bring the hammer down..

For a slam dunk.

It was his chance.

@"Miralis" cutting this thread short because 1.) damned references, 2.) damned references and 3.) it's basically what he'd do anyway, you just gave me an excuse

He didn't quite expect that.

To be fair, no one should expect a train screaming in out of nowhere, and no one would expect that train to be suddenly whacked into the sky.

But then again, Freddy wasn't king for nothing. If a king was surprised by every single train that was thrown his way, he would have died long ago. Quickly, the two tentacles at the base of his neck snapped back and dragged him to the ground, sending him shooting backward.

At the same time, he left in his place as large a portal as he could make, fifty meters wide. It would tire him out for a while, but he could still snap escape at this point.

The portal he opened up led to a battlefield, with countless minor demons below. Only basing on what he could tell from Aurum so far - and it was unlikely he was fully displaying power now (if he were, Freddy was greatly disappointed) - then after thirty minutes at most, he would emerge unscathed from the battle.

"I think you're going to do just fine right there," Freddy said, standing on the forest floor outside the ring of earth and stone.
