A Botanical Lullaby

Sitting in the flourished tree, Enelya held it tight, tears streaming her face. Kotah had just left for his self enlightening journey, and Enelya felt utterly alone. Her closest friend she had ever known, in her entire life, and even... fell in love with, had left her. Not to hurt her, but still, he was gone.

The trees and plants around her whistled and hummed a soothing tune to try and calm her. She wiped away her tears, and shut her eyes tight.. Trying to stop her blubbering and make everything alright. She couldn't go on crying forever, what good would that do? And besides... How would she be able to comfort others if she herself was crying all the time? I miss you Kotah... she whispered to herself.

Finally given a break from his training, Paul had decided to relax a bit. After getting an ice cream cone from the cafeteria, he walked up onto the roof where he had planned to enjoy his ice cream alone. It took him a few minutes to realize he wasn't alone up there. And actually, the only reason he realized it was because Corona told him. Out of curiosity, he decided to see who this person was.

He came into sight of the girl, who apparently was quite upset about something. He was thinking about whether or not to try and comfort her (and Corona pushed him to do it, something about it being his job or some other thing Paul wasn't really paying attention to), when suddenly the loud "CAW!" from a bird that had landed not too far away scared the crap out of him and caused him to drop his beloved ice cream cone onto the ground.

"...that really sucks." He sighed. The noise from the bird and his short yelp from the surprise probably alerted whoever was on the roof with him of his presence, as well.

Enelya jumped, and fell out of the tree! She stuck out her arm, and the branch of the tree extended, and wrapped itself around her. It then pulled her to the trunk, which she wrapped her arms around, and the branch retracted back to normal, giving her a place to sit. Enelya then turned around, and stuck out her arm, which the bird landed on, and Enelya titled her head, chirping to the small bird. More relaxed, the bird nodded, and flew away.

"Are you alright, sir?" Enelya leaned forward a bit, trying to get a better look at the man, and raised an eyebrow slightly.

Enelya motioned her hand again, and the branch brought her to the edge of the roof, and she stepped onto the concrete ledge. She ran a hand through her blue hair, and tried to manage a smile, but only managed a slight curl of the lips. "I'm fine..." Sort of... She thought. She patted her cheeks a bit to make sure they didn't look like she'd been crying, and noticed his spilt ice cream on the floor. She looked down, and twisted her toes around the concrete. "I'm sorry about your ice cream.. Umm.. What brings you up here?"

[Corona]> It seems she was torn away from something... hmm.. either she's having withdrawals from drugs or she misses someone.
[Paul]> Somehow I doubt it's drugs...
Either way, she's lying about being fine.
That's...sort of obvious...

"Well.. I had the day off so I decided to relax a little." He completely ignored her comment on the ice cream. "I don't think I've ever actually been up here, now that I think about it."

He looked over to the tree she was previously in. "So.. that tree. Is there something strange about it or do you have some sort of power to control what it does?"

Enelya blushed at the comment of her powers. She loved them, and sometimes was a little embarrassed by them, though. She nodded, and stared at her feet, not exactly in the conversating mood about her powers. "Umm, yes, I can manipulate plants. I can also talk to them, and animals." She looked up to the sky, to see if the bird which had landed on her hand was still around. It didn't seem to be, which made Enelya continue to look at her feet.

She then looked up at the lanky boy, and tilted her head. He seemed like a regular boy. But then looks could be decieving at this school. "What about you...? What are your powers? Mine are quite obvious." She chuckled somberly, and picked at her blue hair. Even if she didn't have powers, her blue hair and purple eyes weren't exactly considered normal in the 'normal human' population.

"My powers..? Hrm... well.."

Technically speaking, your abilities are available to all humans. You could actually say you don't have any and not be lying, if you are so inclined to keep me a secret
You're the one that said to keep you a secret, though..
Yeah, but I wasn't sure who we could trust yet. Besides, you already failed once.
It isn't my fault!

Paul gained an angry expression on his face at this point.

Yeah it was. You always end up speaking to me with words instead of thoughts. You reveal me all the time, humans are just ignorant about me and assume you're crazy. Though, they aren't far from the truth.
I'm sure you would do much better.
You're right, I would.
I was being sarcastic!

They started to argue now, and Paul had a pretty upset expression on his face, for seemingly no reason.

Enelya grew concerned for the boy who seemed to grow angry at her question. She brought her hand to her mouth, and regretted upsetting him. "If you don't want to tell me, thats fine. I've met plenty of non-talkers." She rolled her eyes, remembering the few people she tried to desparately to help, but they only pushed her away. She had gotten to the point where if they didn't ask for it, she withheld her concerns... How ever much she felt them. That seemed to be one of her personality flaws... She cared too much, whether she knew the person or not.

Okay, as funny as it is to see you scare this girl away because of how you are physically acting to our mental communication, I'm going to have to shut you up and make you snap back into reality. Ready? GO!
....That was lame.
You think so? I thought it was kinda cool...

He now realized what he had done, and desperately tried to think of a way to fix it. "Uh! Wait! I'm sorry.. I wasn't getting upset at you. I was just... err.. thinking about what happened today in English class. I got a D for such a ridiculous reason! Who knew penmanship counts? Not my fault my handwriting sucks!"

Err.. that was actually a half-decent excuse. You still fail, though. Poor girl, having to meet you when she was depressed.
It's your fault...
