As a kitsune, Reiko is able to change her form freely. However, over the years she's realized that the above look is what she is most comfortable in as a human.

A power Reiko was born with was the ability to create "foxfire", or "kitsunebi". In her fox form (or when her tails are visible as a human), friction between her tails cause balls of fire to appear (this way is automatic, and she has no control over it). Consciously creating foxfire is almost just as easy. As a fox it will be created in her mouth, and as a human it appears in her hands. Foxfire isn't as hot as regular fire, and is mostly used as a light source.
One of the first powers she gained was when Reiko turned a century old. She learned to change her apperance as well. Recently, she has even learned to take on the forms of specific people instead of just changing different details of her such as face shape, hair color, etc.
When Reiko became 200 years old, she learned to "feed" of the energy of people around her, which could be a reason why she's so full of energy most of the time. But this way isn't very powerful. She can gain even more energy directly through sexual contact. To an extent, she has even learned to read people's emotions from feeding off of their energy (even though many times it isn't accurate because emotions are very complex things).
Her latest power she learned after turning 300 is being able to fly. It's more like gliding through the air, because she doesn't have wings or anything. Without this power, Reiko probably couldn't of explored as much of the world as she has.
Reiko is always seen wearing a necklace that looks like a pearl necklace, but is actually something she calls "hoshi no tama" or a "star ball". It is her external soul, which holds most of her magical powers when not in her fox form. If seperated from it for too long, Reiko will die. If it falls in someone else's hands, Reiko more or less becomes a servant for them until they return it.

Reiko was born in Japan, staying within a small vicinity of her birth. However, when she learned to shapeshift after a century she decided to explore, like many kitsune do. Once she learned how to fly, she was able to explore so much in shorter time.
She found the Manta Carlos Islands by chance, actually. But once she arrived she decided to stay and make a living here.
