A figure moved around the woods in the darkness, shuffling around the bushes; muted sounds of heavy foot falls on the grassy growth. The figure was moving rather sluggish, attaching to itself to tree trunks before it wobbled off into another.

Strings felt her body was heavy but she would be damned if she said she didn't feel any sense of satisfaction today. She didn't go out unscathed yet the weigh of the small sack soaked with dark liquid at her grasp made it so much worth it. Still. There was no sign of that god forsaken devil. How hard was it to lure him out when she was already ruining his reputation?

She took one shaky step forward before her legs gave out under her, falling face forward to meet the ground. Yet it was as if her nerves were numbed from her little squabble to kill that scrawny kid, she didn't feel a lot of pain from the fall. Her manic cackle echoed in the forest she lied in, before it died out so slowly. By then Strings had rolled herself to her side, feeling the exhaustion sink into her system. God, she was tired.

The creature danced and twirled, battering the winds with it's gusts of glorious ghoulishness. Black smoke rippled and ripped, malevolence tainting the trees as it passed, withering and dying in the creature's wake. As much as it savored the presence of the many dark hearts in the city, it could not help but enjoy the brisk wind and glowing moon above it's head. Dancing in the darkness, an expression of jubilant cruelty as it passed over the bodies of two hikers who had ended one another's lives over a mutual mate.

But what ho! A violet light in this perpetual muted darkness. The moon's rays crashing through leaves did little to illuminate compared to the deep resentment that seemed to billow out from one spot.

A meal! A meal! And what a meal! It was flavored of licorice and ice cream, like the sweet and bitter angst of youth. The creature danced through the air, a solid mass mist that coalesced into physical form. Hands, feet, a face, and eyes. A child's face. A little boy, no older than ten, alighted on the treelimb. All of it's movements done in utter silence as the precocious predator preened over this prickly present for it's belly.

"Why are you out here in the woods, lady?" The creature asked as it sat on the limb. It's little feet kicking too and fro. It leaned over, looking down at her. "Dangerous things out here in these woods." It sneered, its smile a bit too wide to be natural.

Strings' consciousness was almost slipping and she was just about to give in to the exhaustion if it weren't for the fact that she was still in the middle of the forest, maybe still meters away from her little cave. But she was just so tired. With a quiet chuckle she decided she could probably close her eyes...

Strings heard nothing approach but her eyes flew open at the sound of another voice. Following the source of the disturbance, she glared at the... child? Oh, isn't this funny? "I should be the one saying that, pipsqueak." Kids she found had always been interesting victims but she didn't enough energy to spare even moving a muscle. "Run along and go home to your parents."

Disinterested, he turned her eyes away from the boy but as soon as she did, she realized the child was a little... off. She turned her body so she was lying flt on her back so she could get a good look of the "child". He looked pretty normal, but either it was the exhaustion talking or there was really something wrong with that face.

Deciding neither of them wasn't going anywhere, she decided to ask. "So, 'kid', what's your business here in the woods?"

The creature giggled, a childish sound that matched it's body. It leaned further over the edge of the branch, getting a good look at the feminine form beneath it. It wondered if it could just... taste... no... this woman was not a creature of lust. There was something far more interesting and bestial there. Like a shadow over her eyes. Violence, bloodlust, oh she wanted to maim it, to hurt it, to kill it. She was too tired though, the information was all there on the way her body moved.

"No parents." It said, appearing to look mournful. "No home to go back to. Like you?" It continued, carefully digging for information.

It slid it's hand along the branch to hide that it had disentigrated one of it's fingers. The mist that had made up it's pinky was searching the surrounding area. Where was she headed? Had she collapsed far away from home, or... There! A cave! Oho a cave! She lived in a cave! So far away from the city! A recluse! But why why WHY?! It tempered it's mad curiosity with another giggle and replied;

"Playing." It narrowed it's eyes at her, flat black to hide the multicolored glow beneath. "Do you want to play?"

Oh heavens, anorphan? Why, oh why did this one have to come here now? It was such an opportunity. A small child, in the middle of the forest, with no parents to come home to, no parents to look for him when he doesn't come home for nights on end. Strings could only chuckle, bitterly if anything. This opportunity could slip past her just right under her nose.

"Me? Oh, I have a lot to back to. Lots of it," she scoffed, eyes turning skyward so she could just lie there for a second. There was a number of things she could go back to. She could go back to being her old self, where honestly everything was okay as they were save for the blanks in memories, but she could also go back home - whereever that is - but what was home when all she felt was emptiness and discontent about her current self?

When the strange little kid spoke again she almost laughed. Playing in the woods? "Isn't it dangerous here?" she cooed, a little mockingly. Ah, children of Manta Carlos are strange little things, aren't they? But hey, she was looking for opportunities right now and this was just one oportunity to stall. "Maybe you could wait for sis to catch her breath and we could play?"

Biiit of a trigger warning for this post

The creature was even more curious now. If she was out here, she had done something to be out here. What? It recognized her taste, the flavor of her aura, but it could not pick out which instance that had fed on the runoff of her actions. What had she done? It was eager to know now, eager to poke and prod at her, to try to draw out her dark side. It hopped from branch to branch, climbing down the tree. It could have floated down but that would have destroyed the mask.

It nodded at her when it landed on the ground. "Play and maybe stay safe out here?" It asked drawing a bit closer and brushing off dust covered knees. It reached into it's pockets and fished around. It drew out a few shiny coins. It held them out. "You could be paid?" It asked before looking at the coins mournfully. It clenched it's fist around the coins and drew even closer. "...pay other ways then? Like what papa liked?"

It sat down next to her and looked shyly in the general direction of the cave. It reached up and unclasped one button of it's polo. "Very lonely out here..." It admitted, drawing its legs up and wrapping it's arms around them. Inside it's head it was giggling, wondering at how she would react to it, how she would behave, what would she do? The anticipation was getting to be too much! It needed to know her sin! Taste it!

Strings' eyes followed the little boy as he hopped down the tree, slow enough for her to be able to regain awakeness. She was getting this nagging feeling at the back of her mind: there was something up about this kid, and not just the magical sort that was the norm of most kids in the island. But she decided to keep the thought to herself for a while, instead observing the child for a little more before she reached a definitive conclusion.

She quirked an eyebrow as he asked her a question though chose not to speak, just watching the child dust his knees. Children were so cute, they were always the ones who were so easy to talk to; kids loved it when she offered to play with them or offer them treats. She liked how they squirmed a lot more, the adorable way their eyes just widen and their smiles fell, and she loved they way they cried for their parents while they desperately tried to crawl away from her.

You could be paid? the little boy asked as he held out coins that were no interest of her, shaking her head as she struggled to sit up. The boy withdrew the coins a little sadly. Pay other ways then? he asked again. Strings curiously narrowed her eyes at the boy.

Strings had to supress the urge to grin wildly at the insinuation. This child, she swore to herself. What an interesting boy. Strings reached out to lift the little boy's chin with a hand, oddly clean of any evidence of her crime. "Are you lonely out here?" she cooed, a smirk playing at her lips. "Big sis can play with you so you don't have to be lonely."

The creature leaned into her hand, close enough that she could catch it's scent. Malevolence had an odor, you see, but not just any odor. It smelled of that which you found most enticing, seductive, alluring and exciting. It was a scent meant to draw someone in, closer and closer still. It made one want to breathe in the air around the creature, to take in the taint that the creature literally exuded into the atmosphere. Everything about the creature was a trap intended to dull the senses and to arouse the hunger to do wrong.

It drew closer to her, it's flat black eyes locked with hers. The face of the little boy drew slack, relaxed against her touch. "So cold out here." The creature whispered pleadingly. Comfort! Yes! Comfort the creature! The mad, wicked thing teased in it's own mind. The beast that sought to spread salacious sins skyward swooned in her grip. "Please..." It begged, letting those adorable saucer like eyes do the work for it.

It allowed a little bit of malevolence to prickle up to the surface of it's skin. Just enough to tingle on her own hands. It would feel good, so sinfully good, just to lay hands on the being that she was coddling. Could she resist? Would she resist? Oh what glory it would be for her to give fully into temptation! It could already taste the malintent in her thoughts, the evil will that had pre-existed in her mind was like an appetizer to the main course.

Sin for me

As the boy leaned even closer, the smirk on Strings' face widened, giving away the malicious intent that was bubbling up from within. She moved her hand to caress the boy's cheek, her thumb gently brushing his soft skin before it rested idly at the corner of his mouth. A high-pitched giggle escaped past her lips, much to high too be a normal chuckle. Look at those cute little eyes, she thought to herself, her mind already offering visuals of her sinister plots.

"It won't be cold anymore," she whispered. The mad thoughts drive her to pay no more attention to the weight of her body, to the sheer exhaustion, completely intoxicated by the softness of the little child as she cupped his face with both hands. Her face hovered closely, watching the boy's features up close, so hypotized by his gaze and the prospect of another delicious kill. She wasn't one to resist it--not at all.

"You're so cute." Strings leaned close to the boy, burying her face at the crook of his neck, leaving a trail of little kisses, breathing is his sweet scent. As she slowly unbuttoned his polo, her fingers lightly traced the skin with her fingers, visualizing her knife as it cuts through, the blood just seeping out of the incision, muted screams echoing in the background. Strings smiled wickedly. "You like that, don't you?" she whispered at his ear.

She drew him in, closer and closer and oh glorious day were those kisses? The creature allowed it's child form to go limp in her clutches. Her fingers exploring it's forbidden frame, touching and stroking. Her thoughts were elsewhere though. Murder. There was bloodlust in he aura. Her thoughts were on screams and death. It couldn't get specifics, it never could. But it knew the flavor of thoughts of evil, it knew the taste of murder. Oh this was too good, too good to pass up.

She buried her face in it's neck. Would she pleasure a child before killing it? It could not help itself, it could not resist, it could not contain what it was anymore.

As it gently rested its chin on her head, its hands wrapped around her shoulders. It released a husky gasp, dropping to it's knees as she continued. It ran it's fingers through her hair just as she pulled her lips back an inch and spoke. A smile crept across it's face. The smile continued to spread, wider, wider, wider, until it split it's childish face nearly in half! Teeth like needles slid quietly from behind cracked lips. It's eyes sunk into it's skull, black holes with a pinprick of silver light glowing out from them.

It spoke; It's voice was like a bloodied blade scraping across a block of frozen concrete. Its fingers gripped her head like iron clamps, it pulled her to it's chest.

"It likes it... very very much, dearie."
