Appearance Description: Selkiris is almost constantly concealed under a magic robe that covers the user’s face in impenetrable darkness. These robes are also extremely long and cover the rest of Selkiris’s body easily. When he does show something such as a hand, his body is a deathly pale with his veins pumping a visible dark fluid. When Selkiris rarely shows his face, one of the first noticeable things is how his eyes are constantly bloodshot. Selkiris is also rather small due to originating from the medieval era standing at 5’ 6”.
Personality Description:
Selkiris is often a very distant person towards others. He has difficulty properly showing how he feels a lot of the time and is often emotionally ‘dead’. He is capable of empathizing with others though, as he was human once before and can understand how others feel. Because of his powers Selkiris naturally judges people by their species and common traits among them before anything else. He is also very intrigued by ‘rarer’ species that he doesn’t recognize or have much information on. He has been known to bombard these people with a large array of questions about their kind and any other information they would be willing to share. The only time people get emotion filled reactions out of Selkiris is when people mess with the plain silver ring on his left hand. This will send him into a frenzy, still having his calm demeanor but is now instead fueled by complete and utter rage.
Active Abilities:
Species Sense: Selkiris is very knowledgeable on the subject of species. In fact, he is so knowledgeable he is able to figure out the species of anyone he looks at. This gift also allows him to see additional details such as species strengths and weaknesses (personal strengths/weaknesses are not included). Selkiris also carries with him a magical tome that only he can access. Normally the tome is blank but once Selkiris writes a specific symbol onto the cover, the book will be filled with any info on a species he has learned and recorded (For example: History, culture, etc.) . When the tome is closed once more the pages once again turn blank. Unique individuals (gods, lab experiments, etc.) are capable of being identified by Selkiris but he is unable of getting their strengths and weaknesses due to their special nature.
Phase Shift: Selkiris can quickly ‘blink’ to any area he can see within 20 feet of him. Whenever he blinks his body will suddenly vanish and then reappear at the spot he chose. He can only blink if he sees the area he is blinking to.
Vicious Shadows: Selkiris can create small patches of darkness within a 25 foot radius of him. He can make a maximum of four patches which he can manipulate to his will. This is his main method of attack as the patches can shoot out dark ‘spears’ or launch tentacles to grapple his enemies. Selkiris is capable of creating more than those two items from these patches but those two are the most common. The patches are one wide holes and Selkiris cannot spawn anything from these portals that are larger than a foot in width, his creations also cannot be living creatures (beings that have a mind of their own), finally these creations are attached to the hole and cannot leave its confines.
Passive Abilities:
Great Strength: Selkiris can lift up to one ton of weight
Regenerative Husk: Selkiris’s body, despite it’s human appearance, has supernatural properties. If Selkiris bleeds, the bleeding with stop in seconds. Minor wounds will fully heal in an hour, while major wounds and lost limbs will heal in two days.
Mentally Sound: Selkiris has stared into the face of Eldritch beings and remained sane to tell the tale. He is immune to mental abilities and auras.
Deathless: If Selkiris does die he is put into a week long hibernation period inside of his temple under the oceans, deep inside of the sunken continent of Zealandia.
Mark of the Ascendant: Selkiris has a very distinct five foot aura that only Eldritch can feel. Inside of the aura Eldritch will feel wary towards Selkiris and the hunch that he is an abnormal Eldritch.
Weaknesses:
Elder Sign: As Selkiris is an Eldritch is is susceptible to the elder sign. While in the presence of an elder sign the range and strength of his magic is halved.
Gold: An odd weakness that Selkiris inherited from the Eldritch he beat, gold is toxic to Selkiris. A minute of contact with gold will make Selkiris violently ill, anything more than three minutes of contact will outright kill him.

Biography: During his human life, Selkiris was an immensely powerful human mage. He was greatly respected among his peers and revered among non magic users. One day his wife Morgan Relki, became bedridden due to what Selkiris believed to be a serious disease. Selkiris attempted to cure her for weeks on end to no avail. In desperation Selkiris turned to darker arts, magical powers given by unspeakable beings now known today as Eldritch.
Even with these forbidden powers, Selkiris was unable to cure his wife which led to her death. However, with his new powers Selkiris discovered the origin of this ‘disease’ that afflicted his wife. It was truly a witch’s curse that only the caster could lift. Selkiris hunted down and killed the witch for her actions. Selkiris then spent a large majority of his life delving deeper and deeper into Eldritch power to try and revive his wife Morgan. This quest led him through many obstacles, finally climaxing at a duel between Selkiris and an Eldritch being in hopes of it revealing the powers he so desired. Selkiris won the duel and consumed the flesh of the entity but he never did find the powers he craved, instead he ascended and became an Eldritch himself. The ascension granted him new understanding of reality, and how he would never be able to bring his wife back. Selkiris now tries to busy himself as a librarian on Manta Carlos in an attempt to forget that period of his life.
