appearance

Bryn is an androgynous figure standing roughly 5'4" tall with a lithe, willowy build. Roughly cut brown hair frames their tawny skin, which is covered in tattoos. Most notably among these are sky blue markings on their face and distinct tribal tattoos allong their arms and back.
Bryn's amber colored eyes have no pupils, and instead seem to glow with a light of their own from within. Their nose is pierced with a gold ring, and they wear other bits of gold jewelry besides this.
For clothing, when not wearing the standard Starlight Academy uniform, Bryn wears the clothes that they were found in. The outfit seems almost to be piecemeal, consisting of both a nobleman's hunting halfcoat, a woolen tunic, and bits of cured hide and fur besides.
Bryn can vocalize in small amounts, but so far seems incapable of any kind of actual speech.
personality
Bryn seems like a blank slate in many ways. Endlessly curious and with less regard for social mores than their peers, they have little problem seeking out the objects of their curiosity and investigating them. Though they may stop a behavior if asked in the moment, these lessons tend to take time to stick and have any lasting effect.
They are highly expressive, using their hands, body language, and facial expressions to try and convey what they mean in a given situation with remarkable accuracy and clarity despite their inability to speak. They can write with shaky penmanship if needed, but find this tedious compared to their gesturing.
Bryn claims to not know where they come from or much about their past. How true this is is up for debate, but there is clearly a deeper personality below the surface that springs up from time to time: one that is noble and adventurous and maybe a bit too headstrong.

abilities
Active
Passive
Living Weapon
Bryn is an enchanted item given a human form through magical means. For this reason, magic that affects living creatures or "people" specifically does not work on them. Conversely however, magic that affects objects or metal works just fine on them.
Iron skinned
Bryn's body is as tough as the highest quality sword steel, allowing them to shrug off damage that would leave a human incapacitated or worse. The downside is that if they do suffer damage, they cannot heal it naturally and will require the services of a blacksmith to repair them.
Weakness
Surprisingly Heavy
Bryn weighs a lot, considering their size and build. The most important factor of which is the fact that if they fall into a body of water, they will rapidly sink to the bottom. Bryn cannot swim.
Steel
As a being made of metal, Bryn is highly conductive of both heat and electricity. Too much heat can soften them enough to damage with less force and both heat and electricity will travel through them easily to damage their surroundings. Likewise, a strong enough magnetic force can cause Bryn to slow down or even become completely immobilized. Rust, surprisingly, is not an issue for Bryn.

biography
Bryn is in many ways an entirely new being, from a fairy tale world very unlike Earth. They were, for most of their existence, what amounted to a normal sword.
The first thing they remember is consciousness. Seeing and feeling, and immensely confused by both sensations. They understood little at first, save for the language of the elderly woman who was there when the sensations first took hold.
For weeks the two of them fled an unknown danger, with Bryn learning things along the way as their body began to fully take shape and finalize itself into the form it needed.
The danger caught them however, and in a last ditch effort to save her charge, the woman used what was left of her power to open a doorway for Bryn. She told them to go, to find safety, and to run if trouble ever brewed. The sword-turned-person refused, intending to protect the only person they knew, but it wasn't up to them. The woman shoved them through the door and shut it behind, separating them.
Bryn found the safety that they had been told to find, coming out of the forest in a very unfamiliar city: Manta Carlos. Despite their inability to speak, it didn't take long for the authorities to find them and get them enrolled in Starlight Academy.
