Dorian saw the sudden gleam in Vinanye's eyes, and smiled. "I thought so. I'm glad. Stop by one of our meetings sometime and meet the members. I'm sure you'll get along great."

Dorian picked up a folder filled with paperwork on the table, stuffed the photos inside, and tucked it under his arm. He wrapped an arm around Vin's shoulders and led him out of the room, turning off the lights and locking the door. Back to the car it is.

"Alright, you've seen our office. Shelter next." He huffed, then drove off. "What are your opinions so far?"

Vinanye relaxed in his seat once they were back in the car. "Well, for one, what would make people ruin the forests and water like that? About your club, though, I like it. I want to be on the front lines, helping people and cleaning things up. This is making me want to go out and do things."

When the arrived at the shelter, Vinnie jumped out of the car almost immediately and skipped to the door. She knew this place because she had helped volunteer here.

Dorian nodded, a smile on his face. When he got out of the car, he tossed his keys in the air, and caught it before they opened the door. "That's great! I think my club members share the same sentiments. You'll fit right in."

There was a girl at the counter. He recognized her. Rita, a Botany major at the school that liked to help people. "Oh — Oh, Mr. Crawford! Oh dear. If you were coming in, we would've prepared. And... with Vin? Hello, Vin!"

Dorian slid to the counter with a smile. "Hey, Rita. How are things?"

She smiled. "Good, sir. Everyone appreciates the new mattresses, but there's been a leak on the roof. Funds for repairs aren't coming in until next month."

Oh. Dorian looked at Vin, an eyebrow raised. "You up for fixing a leaky roof?"

Vin waved enthusiastically at Rita, first with all of his hand and then just with his fingers. "Hello, Rita!" Vinanye leaned forward a bit as Rita explained that their funds weren't coming in yet and they had a problem. When asked if he was up for fixing a leaky roof (something Vinnie had never done before) he flexed and said, "I am up for all of the things. Give me the belt!"

Alright. Hard to beat that enthusiasm. Rita handed them the belt a bit reluctantly, then led them to the third floor. She pulled out the ladder and set it up in the Hallway, opening up a small door to the roof.

"Be careful! Roof's slanted. It's near the edge..."

He shrugged. "It'll be fine." Dorian saluted her, took off his shoes and jacket, and went through the door. He sat at the middle to help Vin out.

Vinnie took his shoes off as well, to help with balancing on the roof, and gave Rita one more reassuring smile before climbing the later and accepting any help Dorian gave him. He had pretty good balance, not nearly as clumsy as some might have expected him to be.

He crawled to the edge of the roof, where the leak was. He motioned for Dorian to give him the tools. "We have got this."

Dorian followed him to the edge. He peaked at the edge, and, goodness, that was a long way down. He frowned and handed him the belt. No wonder Rita wanted to call someone. That was not a fall normal people could survive, no.

"It's that hole, right? There's a sealant in one of the pockets. It might be best to mix it with an adhesive."
