It was after his classes, and Cairo was hungry. Having been going unstop since the morning, he hadn't even eaten breakfast. Thankfully, there was not a huge line up for the cafeteria, as it seemed that not as many people came after school hours. It made no matter. He tapped his foot eagerly as he watched his three pizza slices being scooped out and onto a nice plate for him. He thanked the lady sincerely, before smirking, paying, and turning around to sit.

There was about 10 people in the cafeteria. It almost looked like some lost battle ground, with little to no action. Even though there was a silence to the area, he noticed someone, someone that caught his eye in all the right ways. After he cleared his throat, he strode over and plopped himself across from her on the tables. "Hello there beautiful, why're you sitting all alone?" Cairo asked politely, as he was a bit more tame in the confinements of school. "Do you mind if I sit here?"

Cairo shoved food around on her plate. She was hungry, but she also didn't feel like eating because then she would have to down her few pills as well. It just didn't seem worth it. Take the pills that made life blurry but took away the pain or don't take the pills and fight the pain? What was even the point of either by now?

Sighing, Cairo opted to take the pills. Horrible little things. And the next moment someone was sitting across from her with a tray of pizza. She blinked in confusion and raised an eyebrow at the man. Did she mind? Yes. Was she going to bather dealing with this? She'd rather not but she had no where else to be for the next half hour. Her attention returned to pushing around whatever health slop they had given her this time.

"I much prefer sitting alone actually. And I do mind, but that probably won't stop you now will it? "

"Oh." That was not the reply he was expecting from such a girl, but that for sure wouldn't stop him from trying again. "I didn't mean any inconvenience; you just looked like you needed a bit of cheering up." A small smile crossed his lips as he leaned in a bit. She was pretty enough, though her closed off attitude would be something he'd have to work on. "I usually like to eat alone too, considering that a lot of people can get on your nerves, if the little shits are too happy no lucky about life." He shrugged as Cairo shifted his weight onto his left hand, propping his head up with it. "Can get reallllll annoying." That statement made him glance at his pizza before her again. "What's your name? Mine's Cairo."

Cairo took a bite of the slop. It actually wasn't horrible but she could still taste the pills ground into it. Solid pills unnerved her so they usually went in her food instead.

"I'm just fine, thank you. Whatever gave you the sense that i was unhappy was clearly wrong. There's a difference between abandoning hope and feeling blue. And you aren't one to talk about annoyingly happy go lucky. I can see you smiling, i'm not blind. "

Cairo remained silent a moment after he asked for her name. She couldn't stop a small smile from creeping onto her face, hiding it behind her hand. After a few more moments she was quietly giggling uncontrollably. Her name... A boy named Cairo wanted to know her name.

"I think you already know my name."

Damn, she was harsh. He was only trying to be nice, but it seemed that his good boy image wasn't going to fool her anytime soon. Good. He didn't like to anyways. His smile vanished as she seemed to smile at him, or laugh, he couldn't tell. Was his name that funny, or was it how he had said it? But then, it sunk in. Ohhhhhh.

"Cairo number 2 it seems?" It wasn't everyday, especially on such a small island, that there wold be two people with the same name. "Not that I care if your stupid little name is the same as mine. I'm known for my name. I doubt you have people on the street everyday waving to you and giving you eyes up and down your body as you walk." He knew for a fact that she didn't. "So I'll just call you Ro, because that name is mine."

Cairo snickered softly. Stupid little name? Well, someone obviously didn't get where he was through intelligence. It showed on his face. What was he, some pathetically spoiled kid of some rich CEO? He really didn't seem capable of getting anywhere on his own.

"First, your pampered ass likely doesn't go out on streets where no one would care who you are. Second, if you call me Ro I swear I'll find some way of ruining your public image. Third, I'm barely able to walk you pathetic excuse of a man."

Cairo dangled her medical alert tag in front of Cai-rude's face to emphasize her last point. She was tempted to slap him but that would be rather uncalled for. Also potentially dangerous. If he wasn't dangerous then it might break some bones.

"My pampered ass?" He scoffed at her, even though it was partly true. Yes, his parents had been actors and yes.... He had a nice lifestyle, but that didn't mean that he didn't suffer or ever feel lonely. Heck, he had been lonely for most of his life; though he'd never admit to that. "Aren't we all a little pampered; having an entire island that we can mess up?" It was a stretch to say such a comment, but Cairo felt as if it was true.

"Ro is not a bad man, little girl. I'd take it unless you want things to get ugly." It wasn't like he would punch her, but he would for sure get up in her face, maybe take a kiss or two from her lips. "And how would you ruin me, darling?" He asked with a sly smirk on his face. Oh how he wanted to know the answer.

The last part kind of shocked him though. "Well aren't we all broken in some way?" He didn't like it that she was using the 'oh look at me I'm weak' excuse, but at the same time it didn't feel like that. "If you want to, and if you like me enough, I could carry you around on my back?" He chuckled. "But I doubt you don't want to be treated like a baby."

Cairo scowled at him. This is why she never spoke to her classmates. Because too many of them were exactly like him. Pampered fools who didn't know that anything was truly wrong with the world.

"This island isn't just some object you can use and throw away. It's as much a living creature as you are. What, did no one ever talk to you when you were a kid?
Do not call me Ro. Your entire life revolves around what people think of you. You made that pretty clear when you got here. All it would take is one bad day. Yelling at the wrong person. Sleeping through your alarm. Some article of clothing breaking or getting a hole in it."

Cairo's vision blurred and darkened. She could see the power swirling around her. One more word and it would probably attach itself to Cai-rude. While that wouldn't be too bad for her, it might cause other problems. This heavy of a concentration was likely to really injure him. Breathe in. Breathe out. Relax, don't let him get to you. A little bit of bad luck wouldn't hurt him though.. Maybe she could try and control it?
Cairo focused on a small swirl of black, trying to make it follow her suggestions. Like circling around a pretty head of hair sitting across the table. She couldn't tell if it worked.

"I will not tolerate such disrespect. Regardless of how you see me I still have enough pride to know when someone isn't worth the time or the effort. So if you'd kindly leave me alone now."

Damn, she bit hard, and he liked that. As he listened, he nodded as his mind and actions started to calm down. He could sense an uneasiness in the air, something that wasn't right. She seemed off somehow, like her mind was racing somewhere, to find some bad insult or good retort back to him. "I try not to make this place any worse than it already is you know, I just have fun." He leaned in, taking a bite of his pizza as he observed her. "I'm a boy on and island full of guys and girls that I want. It's simple and I love it." He wouldn't expect her to understand.

"I will not." He took a big bite and chewed as he continued to stare at her, wondering what she was really thinking of him. "I'm quite sweet once I get what I want." Half of that was true, as he didn't have any friends; only ex lovers and enemies.

Cairo grumbled, almost growling. She never said anything identifiable, but it was clear she was not impressed.

"Well whatever you want, you aren't getting it. I'm not some toy for you to play with, nor is anyone else on this island. I don't want to be friends with you in any sense of the word so leave me alone."

Cairo pushed away from the table and stood up, walking towards the exit with a slight limp. She left her mostly untouched food there, deciding that the lack of pain wasn't worth the time it would take to eat. There was nothing that could make her stay in this room any longer.
