Working on upgrades

His last few battles had shown him that he was lacking, it was definitely behind the times when it came to some of his wet ware. Most of his graphene-based tech was fine, but there were several vital systems features that needed upgraded. More over he wanted to create something new, something different. He had considered building androids on multiple occasions and work on holographic projection technology. As it stood, there was the matter of work to be done.

He had purchased a decent sized loft in the city and set up his lab there but there was something missing nevertheless. He slid his hands into his pockets, and continued walking, thinking, figuring out what he was going to do. He needed a research partner and would need to continue to search for one since he wasn't exactly getting his supplies from any company or store on the island. Whoever it was would need to be cybernetically enhanced, intelligent, and quick on their feet. He considered it possible such a person didn't even exist.

A slow sigh escaped his lips as he looked out over the city streets in the residential area and started working on figuring out what method he was going to be able to use to create the upgrades, and what those upgrades would even be. Some part of him dreamed of what could be made possible, but there was so much left to be done.
"I need a partner with technological know how." He exhaled to the universe.

It was very beautiful, exploring the city, seeing as she liked to see new things. Smiling a bit, Marina looked around at the tall buildings, fascinated by the height and the work that would have had to go into them. There were a lot of people, all ones that she had never seen before. Younger and older ones, different heights and hair colors. Marina looked quietly at them as they passed her on the city streets.

As she continued to walk, she nodded at people, trying to make people smile a bit, which didn't work. It was as if they just didn't care that she was trying to do a tiny polite thing. Marina found a bench, looking up at the building above her as she began to sit down. It looked like a living around, how the windows were set up and all. Marina was probably too young to own her own place, if she even wanted one.

These first few days had been a bit challenging for her, kind of feeling like she was always lost, which was also not a bad thing. Seeing someone in one of the windows for a short time, she smiled a bit and looked closer to see what or who it was.

Was anyone else like her? A robot? Even though the term still made no sense to her. Maybe she would find someone who liked them? Or that was one themselves? That would make her very interested and surprised.

Exasperated, mostly with the fact that while he had complained, he hadn't actually been looking for a solution to his problem. Nevertheless, he suddenly felt mentally exhausted. As he passed by a bench he noticed a girl was sitting on it, though he was way too out of it to care. His body ached for companionship outside of his pack... unit... whatever they wanted to call it. he suddenly understood how his commander felt.

Even though he was feeling like this, he could already imagine how it was going to turn out if he just kept moving on. That was about the time that he noticed that he was being rude.
"I'm sorry I sat down here without saying anything. My name is Damien." He said, looking over to her with a smile as he thought to himself "and I'm a cyborg with companionship issues". He figured that treating life like an alcoholics anonymous meeting wasn't exactly going to make matters better. It didn't help matters that he hadn't activated his emotion suppressors that morning. He was experiencing his emotion for the first time in about two months.

Even as he spoke he considered toying with his X-ray setting and just looking at people's skeletons. He had done it at school the last time he let his emotions wander and that had wound up... interestingly. He didn't do it though, not yet at least. He wanted to try having a conversation first.

Marina watched as the same guy came close to her on the bench, before then sitting down beside her. She studied him, wondering which language he spoke, how old he was, and other things. Marina nodded carefully at him before he began to speak. English, he spoke English. That was the easiest for Marina, being her first language more or less. "It was not rude of you sir, you looked tired anyways."

She paused and turned a bit towards him. "My name is Marina. Nice to meet you, Damien." She nodded and smiled a bit, even though the movement of her lips felt weird to her.

He smiled, normally he would have to force it but this time he did not. At last he decided though, to play with his x-ray vision. Last time he had foregone his emotion suppressors he had gotten into a bit of trouble with his libido. This time he was just going to look and the best part was no one even needed to know.
"X-ray mode." He mentally ordered his AI program.

As it adjusted, it looked past the skin, into the body and began to back out.
"Stop. Focus on internal body configuration." He ordered, once again using his internal communication with his AI. His body tensed and he reacted as if he were a kid that just got caught trying to steal a cookie... at least internally.
"Deactivate X-ray mode." He once again ordered the AI. On the outside, however, he simply tried to act as if he hadn't just found anything out.
"Nice to meet you as well. And what a beautiful name you have." He answered back. She had mechanical parts like he did, he was officially interested, though he had no idea how he was going to ask her without making it apparent he was misbehaving.

Marina nodded and smiled a bit. Why did she keep doing that? There was a pause, until he finally spoke to her. "Thank you sir." It was nice of him to think of her name as beautiful. She never used the word much, describing things that she saw were always something else. "What brings you to this island Damien? What special powers do you have? Or what makes you different?" She asked politely, wondering what his answer would be. Was he super smart? Or could he summon a giant wave of water? The possibilities were endless.

Damien looked at her and almost did a double take. She had presented an opportunity to find out about her. So in the nature of trying to learn what he could, honestly was obviously the best policy.
"I'm a cyborg. Originally a human, enhanced with cybernetic technology." He spilled. It was just enough information to answer her question without breaking any of silverhart's tenants about confidentiality and secrets about the dark world or the secret wars from becoming apparent. Humans... and other creatures, usually lacked the based explanation to quickly grasp what was going on any way and it often took years of education to prepare it.
"If I might ask, what brings you here? What makes you different?" He asked. It was an interesting concept. He guessed about her, but didn't have enough information to form any sort of proper thought process pertaining to what exactly she was or what had brought her here. Still, he began to think, to make plans, and to calculate as he waited for her answer.

Marina nodded and smiled as he gave his answer. A cyborg, was that a type of robot? Or was it classified as one? It was kind of a human mixed with a robot, as far as she could guess. She wasn't sure, but she could look that up later. "That is very interesting. I am kind of the same sort of thing." She paused. "I am pretty sure that I am a robot, though the term doesn't feel right to me." Marina put her hands together and smiled a bit.

"The man that was, raising me, he told me that, though I don't know if I believe it." She paused again. "They kicked me out. I saw this place and I guess I wanted to see if it was right for me." She breathed a bit, and moved a bit. "He said that there was something wrong with me too, that made me even more unhuman." She paused and looked up. "But yeah, that's why I'm here."

Damien listened eagerly, though was surprised that she wasn't completely sure of what she was.
"I hope I'm not being too forward, but I could look over you and confirm what he told you. I could even add and create new parts for you which I would help me too anyway." He offered. Curious though he was, he wasn't about to just try to manipulate her into letting him try working on her inner parts. His cheeks flushed slightly as he thought about what he might be able to come up with.
"If it helps I can show you some of the work I've already done on myself." He offered. Though as he thought about it, there wasn't exactly a lot of his tech that he could just show off with any level of relative ease unless she had scanners of some sort. He had his subdermal armoring that he could display, and his nanobytes, but everything else was mostly weaponry.

Marina nodded. He was being very nice in a way, to let her know as to what she really was. "Yes, I would like that a lot. Thank you." She smiled a bit. She really did want to know as to what exactly she was. She wasn't really sure at this point, not nothing as to what was fake and what was real. All she knew is that she was different, or at least as different as you could be with people all around you that have powers. "Yes that would be interesting, though I don't doubt that you are probably very good at what you do." She nodded and wondered as to what upgrades he could do on her, or as to which upgrades he had. It was just nice for Marian to find someone that understood her.
