Pale hands were stuffed into the pockets of black, baggy pants, and the chains rattled somewhat as the young girl walked. Black hair was hanging loosely as it almost always did, with the purple highlights still faded. She would redo the highlights... one day. The twelve-year-old looked around the hallways on the third floor; it was sure was dusty, in her opinion. But she still liked it up here; it was quiet, and on the few occasions she had time to come up here, not many people were around. People didn't bother her, but still, it was nice to be somewhat alone sometimes.

October looked back to where she was walking, and kicked at the floor for a moment before continuing on her way.

Matthew stepped into the mostly vacant hall. His gray eyes cautiously swept over his surroundings just in case. The last thing he wanted just then was to be around people. relaxing he shoved his hands into the pockets of his jeans. Walking down the corridor he noticed a window convered in dust. reaching out he cleaned it and looked out, a light clinking noise, like chains being rattled softly reached his ears, followed by soft footsteps. Tensing, the boy continued looking out the window.

"Relax Matt." he murmered silently to himself. It was a stupid habit but one he had to use often to force himself to calm down. turning he peered down the hall in the direction the noise had come. A young girl, probably a few years younger than himself was walking alone down the hall. Ignoring her Matthew looked coldly out the window.

As the child continued down the hall, she noticed a window not too far away. There was also someone standing there, looking outside. She wasn't annoyed by him being there, since one person around was better than a lot. Besides, she wasn't the kind of person who got annoyed by even the tinniest things. She kept walking at the same pace she had been before, and when she neared the window, leaned up against the wall, and stood about a meter or so away from the male.

"Hello there," October said with somewhat of a smile on her face. She looked at him for a moment, noticing the similar clothing they were wearing. Well, it wasn't really alike, but they were both wearing black. She noticed the expression on his face, but decided to ignore it. "I'm October. And you are?"

Matthew ignored her when she came up and leaned against the wall. Once she spoke it was obvious she wasn't going to leave.

"I'm Matthew." Was all he said quietly in reply. Turning Matthew looked at her, she was dressed somewhat like him, there were chains on her pants((izzat rite? don' remember)), hence the rattling he'd heard. Once he'd looked her over he let his gaze wander to the wall behind her.

((OoC: Yep that's right. lol.))

October didn't mind the fact that he had ignored her when she leaned up against the wall; she was kind of used to it, since her sister ignored her sometimes. She nodded and smiled somewhat when he told her his name. "It's nice to meet you, Matthew," she said. She noticed him look to the wall that was behind her, and she turned her head to look at the wall as well. She shook her head, then looked back at the male.

"How long have you been at this school, Matthew? Are you new here?" she asked him.

"Been here a year." He said in a low voice. "Not that it's any of your concern." Matthew watched her look to see what he was looking at. Rolling his eyes the boy turned back to the window. "You been here long? Never saw you before."

A year? October's eyes widened somewhat. This was the first person she had met that had been here for that long. "A year? That's a long time!" she said, knowing that she was stating the obvious, but honestly not really caring. "No, I suppose I haven't been here long. Just a month or so." She shrugged her shoulders, and noticed him look out the window again. "So... how are you liking it at this place?" she asked him. She liked to know peoples opinions of things, she couldn't help that she was asking so many questions.

Matthew frowned.

Why do people have to ask so much when they first meet someone?

He glanced at her, she looked slightly suprised. Shrugging it off the boy looked out the window. "Hate it." He finally said through gritted teeth. With that said he turned and began walking down the hall, oddly curious if the girl would follow.

asking more questions Rolling his eyes he jammed his hands in his pockets. "You like it here?" He called back, despite his usual manner he figured it wouldn't hurt to talk a little.

October bit the inside of her lip when he frowned. He was probably the kind that didn't like to be bothered... and she was probably bothering him by talking to him and asking all these questions. But, it was too late now; she was going to keep this conversation going, she didn't want to just walk away. She heard him say that he hated it, like quite a few people that came here. She nodded in understanding.

An eyebrow raised somewhat when he started walking away. She wasn't sure if she should follow or not, so she stayed where she was, just incase he was walking away because she was annoying him. However, when he asked her the same question, she quickly followed after him, figuring that he couldn't be too annoyed if he still wanted to talk to her. If he had even been annoyed in the first place, that is.

She shrugged her shoulders as a reply when she caught up to him. "I guess it's ok here," she said. "I mean, it's got to be better than some places, right?" She shook her head. "Sorry for asking so many questions, and you don't have to answer this if you don't want, but what are your powers?"

Matthew stiffened and walked for a long time in silence. It wasn't that he was ignoring her, or really tired of talking. He was just somewhat nervous around the newcomer and all of her questions.

"They're nothing really great." He finally said slowly. He turned a corner and glanced to see if she was still coming. "Quite boring in fact, a lot like me." He looked down at her and almost smiled and his eyes lightened in color, but as soon as he realized what he was doing they darkened to coal black and he looked at the floor.

"Yes, there has been worse places...." Matthew said quietly. He suddenly stopped, they'd reached the end of the hall. Leaning casually against the wall he looked at October. "Do you have any 'friends' around here?
