Alexis leaned against one of the desks in the room as he waited for the teachers' next task for him. So far it kind of just seemed like a normal powers class but with more focused attention on him. At least the teachers seemed to be decent at their own stuff.

He was pretty damn tempted to show how much control he had by messing with Rachel's water constructs once they were within range, but then he might get yelled at and blah blah blah. So he waited and watched as the water swatted the two arrows out of the air like a big wet hand slap.

"I know the mist can't stop arrows but...," he sighed and let out more of the misty breath. Alexis figured he might as well just go along with it and show them. The thick mist gathered in the air and spread out, ready for him to command into the path of the arrows. Or maybe not.

See, Alexis had a better idea. Instead of trying to stop the arrows with the mist he'd use something a little more strong. Ignoring the mist entirely he wanted to wait for the first arrow to be loosed and then call forth a huge amount of water.

He waited and held himself ready. The moment he saw the arrow start to be released he knew he could call out the word 'eau', or water in French along with concentrating on the liquid. Up to 100 gallons of pure water would be produced nearby and he could control it all if he gave up control of his mist. Now that would stop the arrows.

Of course whether or not his teachers disapproved of him for it was yet to be seen. Technically it was disobeying their instructions. He also wasn't quite thinking about the possible consequences to summoning so much water here in a classroom.

Cassandra created two standard arrows and nocked one of them. Alexis had already said that his mist couldn't stop the arrows, but this exercise could still be used to test his reflexes. The mist escaped his mouth and spread out in the air around him.

However, when Cassandra fired the first arrow, an immense amount of water appeared around Alexis. Cassandra had fired the second arrow before she could even process what had happened. Rachel gasped and quickly reached out to grasp some of the water with her Aquarius form, but because of the surprise, she wasn't able to get all of it.

"Um!" she said. "I thought you said you were going to use the mist!"

Cassandra was surprised too, but her surprise quickly disappeared. She took a second to compose herself and let out a sigh. "You know, if you would've preferred to use water," she said, "you could've said so."

As Alexis called out out for the water to come to him he dropped control of the mist in the air. Without active control the mist was free to disperse naturally through the air.

But this huge amount of water was the actual limit for how much Alexis could produce and control at that moment and he shuddered just a little bit with the effort. In his desire to show the teachers he was better than they though he had pushed himself right up to a limit. He sighed in relief as Rachel took hold of some of the water so he wasn't holding all of it aloft. But the two arrows had indeed been stopped by that much water. Alexis was pretty quick, but it had really helped having such a large amount of water to really fill the area the arrows might have gone through.

"I... wasn't I supposed to stop the arrows? Look, they're stopped," he grumbled loudly and pointed at the arrows even as this huge glob of water was still hanging in the air between them. Alexis could call it in sure. But sending it away again was not something he could do. Oddly fitting for his personality really.

The boy looked from one instructor to the other. One seemed kind of pissed and the other seemed... disappointed. Or at least that's how it seemed to him. "Sorry. I just thought putting mist up for arrows to cut through was a waste," he apologized relatively sincerely but his face was still defiant. He'd done something cool and they couldn't claim it hadn't worked.

Rachel wasn't too bothered. Cassandra was bothered, but not as bothered as she could have been. She sighed and decided to dismiss what Alexis had done.

"He did stop the arrows," Rachel said.

"Yeah, well, is there a way for you to actually get rid of this water?" Cassandra asked. "Because Rachel is only able to control it."

"We can just throw it out the window, into some nearby snow."

"But it's cold, and you might not be able to handle it. Are you sure?"

"Yeah, it's fine. It'll just be for a few seconds."

If Alexis couldn't get rid of the water the same way he brought it in, Cassandra would open the window and Rachel would start moving water onto nearby snow where it wouldn't inconvenience anybody.

Alexis looked back up at the large amount of water now floating somewhat aimlessly in the room. No, he could call in the water and even make it do whatever he wanted, but for whatever reason he had no way to actually get rid of it once it was there.

"No," he shook his head. "I've never needed to make it go away." Not to mention this was one of his newer abilities. Trieu had mentioned he might eventually be able to call in more than just water too, but she hadn't taught him how to get rid of it. She might not have even known if that was possible.

"I guess... I can help or whatever," he offered halfheartedly and walked over to the window as well. Between the two of them there was no trouble moving the water out the window in a long stream and making it solidify into the snow outside. It took some time, and the room was quite chilly by the time they closed the window but they'd done it without flooding the classroom with water so that was good.

Alexis shivered a little and crossed his arms in front of his chest to keep warm. He'd taken off his winter coat to hang up before they started. "So... what do you want to see next?" he asked as he played with a sharp piece of orange glass that he had formed and snapped off his hand.

When Cassandra closed the window, everyone was shivering, but she was especially worried about Rachel. Rachel was the one who would be the most affected by the cold—well, that was under the assumption that Alexis didn't have any extreme aversion to the cold like she did.

Rachel quickly went for her coat and plopped down onto the chair behind the teacher's desk. "You can take over from here," she told Cassandra.

"Got it," Cassandra said. The cold wasn't as bad for her, so she decided to keep her coat off.

Her attention was caught by the orange shard of glass that came from Alexis' hand. "Ah, yes," she said. "I'd like to know more about that. How exactly do you use those in combat? Can you fire them like projectiles? Also, what is the limit of your mobility in that form where you collapsed to the floor? Can you only move on the floor? Again, anything helps."

((when he turns into dust he's more of a cloud of it than a layer of it on the floor. Sorry, I should've been more descriptive))

Alexis was not especially bothered by the chill. He wasn't protected from the cold in his human form but he was used to dealing with it. And with the window shut it probably would warm up again in the room. He eyed Rachel as she immediately bundled up and gave the reins over to Cassandra. Did the cold really affect her that much?

He didn't bother to grab his coat, figuring they'd have him be moving around doing random stuff anyway. Alexis impatiently waited for them to decide what to focus on next, finding it annoying to be standing there like he was on display or some shit. "Yeah I can fling them at people like a nasty shotgun. The nails too," he confirmed even as he slapped the sharp glass back into his hand. The shard didn't even scratch him, instead seeming to be absorbed before growing back out of his skin anew. He aimed his hand straight at his other palm and fired the glass at it. The projectile wasn't really that accurate but at close range that didn't matter. And of course he was unable to be hurt by it. "Or I just, y'know cut or stab someone with them." Sometimes simple was better.

As for the dust part Alexis was pretty maneuverable with it. There was a limit though. "I can move about from here to that desk over there," he answered by pointing at a desk about 30' or so away. The dust seemed ideal for avoiding a blow and moving around to a better position. As far as he knew it could be any direction at all. Maybe sneaking in somewhere too or other more soft-handed uses but Alexis wasn't often interested in stealth and spy crap. He wanted to smash people in the face with knuckles full of jagged glass and sharp nails. Now that was fighting.

Cassandra watched as Alexis demonstrated his power. She took notes on both her and Rachel's notepads, making sure to paraphrase for each. She was a bit worried about how nonchalantly he talked about cutting and stabbing people, but she didn't comment on it.

It took some thinking, but Cassandra managed to come up with some ideas. However, she decided that she didn't want to put them to use just yet. It had become obvious to her that Alexis liked to fight. She decided that she would wait until she had more students to conduct more work with him.

"Actually, I think we're done for the day," she said. "Today was a good introductory class for us to get a good look at what you can do. We'll do more when we have more students."

Alexis did indeed like to fight. Preferred it to most other things actually. So it absolutely would have been better for him to be showing what he could do in a sparring match. But Alexis was still pretty grumbly about the whole thing.

"Done... we did like nothing at all," he muttered under his breath as he looked from one teacher to the other. Obviously the teachers needed to have a baseline to know how to work with him but Alexis pretty much saw the day as a waste. Other then stretching to call the maximum amount of water he could at once he was pretty sure nothing important had happened. "Fine, whatever. Do you call me if other people are coming or do I just keep coming back or whatever?"

He was already grabbing his coat and bag and heading for the door as he spoke. No student in their right mind would linger too long after being dismissed. That was freedom, even if it was just a random extra class. Alexis figured he'd use the free time to go take a nice swim for an hour or two.

Cassandra could understand Alexis' frustration. His personality was a pretty clear indicator as to how he would react to what she said. It didn't make it any less irritating. Nevertheless, her expression remained neutral.

"It may be true that you basically did nothing," Cassandra said. "But like I said, this was just an introductory class. It's important that we don't try to go too crazy with exploring your powers on the first day, because doing so will lessen the opportunities you will have with other students. You don't want to create too many combinations with us, because you'll probably see us less than your fellow students."

Rachel took over as Alexis was walking away. "This class goes on throughout the entirety of the school day," she said. "You can come back at any time!"
