The Miler siblings slowly walked into the ball room from the first floor entrance. Adelina looked at her brother, who she knew was just holding back one of his lectures. She knew that if she hadn't warned him, he'd start being the protective big brother and want to know everyone she danced with. She, in no way, wanted to be embarrassed tonight.
Jesse bit his lip. He wanted to against his sister's wishes and start telling her not to dance with strangers, and to let him know who she was going to dance with at all times. He knew that she wasn't a little girl anymore and that she needed her space, but he still felt the need to protect her. "Um, Addie — "
Adelina looked at him with a 'please don't start' look, and he stopped. Jesse sighed, and looked around. Lexie wasn't there yet. He walked to the wall the girls weren't on, hoping that she would arrive soon.
Adelina looked around too, and her date wasn't there yet as well. She frowned, and walked over to the wall where the other girls were. She straightened out her black dress, and adjusted the long sleeves. She looked at the other girls, but said nothing to them. She turned her gaze to the ground.
