In the middle of the night Kamren had scooped her up and taken her to some kind of shelter. Nimueh did not understand. Why were they abandoning the home she had gotten used to? She had fought him as he'd carried her; eventually gave up and went limp.

When he placed her on their assigned cots, she glared upward and breathed out, "Why are we running? I want to go to my citadel." What kind of danger would make this man — who Nimueh believed to be the reincarnate of Mordunr — run? Especially on such a chilly night!

She grumbled something about not being dressed properly. She wore one of his shirts and a pair of loose lounge pants he had bought for her. It had a matching shirt but Nimueh liked his; they were bigger and comfier.

She puffed her cheeks out as she stared at him. "Can we go home now?"

Kamren was used to natural diasters, Hurricans, tornadoes, earthquakes and the general rainstorm However a mystical magical Tsunmai, he was not prepared for that. He hadn't wanted to wake up Nimeuh, to be honest she would've been a hinderence to what he needed to do. He threw the clothes, water bottles, and other supplies he had packed away for these occasions and scooped her up. He needed to be at his strongest so he was in his demonic form.

"Okay Princess, it's giant wave that can swallow us whole, I might be able to survive drowning but I highly doubt you can. We are not running, I had to lock my tech in water proof boxes, and your Citdel will be lucky to be standing." He said very snarkily, he was not in the mood for her to be bratty. For someone that was around 800, she had the tendency to ask like a spoiled child.

"We can go home, after the storm is over and not a second before" He said sitting down in his assigned cot next to hers.

Nimueh glared, crossing her arms as he sat down beside of her. She scrunched her nose and quipped, "My citadel stood for eight hundred years." She yawned and flopped sideways on her cot; wriggling until her head rested in his lap. The pillows weren't as comfy as the ones at home.

"Why did you anger the gods of the sea? Can we offer them a sacrifice?" She inquired, allowing her gaze to settle on his features. "We should sacrifice a child. They like children more than adults."

She pushed herself upright and began to study the people around her. Searching for a child. Eventually she pointed toward a little girl. "Her. She's perfect."

Kamren looked at her and starting laughing hysterically. "We are not sacrificing children, or anyone. Thats not how things work anymore " He said making a shooing motion to the small child. He did not need to deal with angry parents.

The power was going to go out. The wave was going to disrupt the elecetrical currents and he was going to have a panic attack but he pretended he was worried. He had his laptop and his small generator, it shoul work..right? "Just you know, sit and wait princess"

A pout claimed her lips as she grumbled at his laughter. The woman plopped back down — right on his lap. She crossed her arms and stared silently at him.

"Will it get dark?" She asked. Power and electricity was magical; she still did not understand it. She still slept with a candle that she insisted upon having beside her bed.

She frowned. "Will the gods come to take our souls?" She inquired, staring upward at him. "It is only fit to die in war. Is this a war? It doesn't feel like a war." She rambled on about how war should feel as she stared around, not understanding why some folks were staring. A small Asian woman seated on a man's lap was no reason to stare, right?

Kamren sighed and shrugged his shoulders "The power might go out, but there are backup generators." he said confidently, he was to proud to admit that he was worried about the power going out, hell he was worried about the whole storm but he wouldn't admit it.

"No wars, no gods taking our souls...do demons even have souls?" He asked turning towards her and raising an eyebrow. He knew that she was worried about everything, he could tell that she was just too proud to actually be as scared as the rest of the people in the shelter. That's why he kept her around, she understood why he was like her was.

Nimueh peered upwards as she snuggled against his chest. "Uhuh. Mordunr always stated that everything had a soul. Some were larger and brighter and others were blacker and small. Even the rocks have souls." She chirped. "It shows in their colors. Like it shows in the eyes of humanoid beings and animals."

She bobbed her head firmly, as she studied the pride demon. The little woman twisted around to face him, essentially sitting backwards on his lap; her legs criss-cross applesauced.

"There were stories about great waves sent by Gods. Sometimes Mordunr would take me away, 'cause the Dark God was angry. He said he always knew when that was, 'cause the Dark God favored him." She nodded. The Dark God was what she had been using to refer to Lucifer. "Is this like that?"
