"Okay! I have a few securities! Happy now?" She squawked quickly the words flowing off her tongue like water on hairless skin. It was true, Max did have some insecurities but she couldn't understand that everyone had them.
Max was falling weak, William sure had a way of manipulating Gabe and it frustrated her but she had done enough for the day so she did not bother to speak up. It seemed, anyway, the Gabe had a mind of his own and knew how controlling William was; but she did not think that he understood just the depths he had his on.
William was incredibly attractive even Max could not deny this but she did not want him, those two love birds... if that's what you could call them were infatuated and Max admired that in a couple but they were "lover blind" and could not see past their qualities and see the reality of each other. William being manipulative and sweet. Gabe dropping all of his other friends for his boyfriend.
She pushed herself off of the wall and whipped out her bow and twanged it, keeping her nervous hands still or unnoticeable. Max scoffed hearing William's little loved up words into the crook of his neck, she wanted to encourage him. She pushed her shoulders back and gave him a side smile and raised her eyebrows inviting him in. "C'mon then. I don't get that hurt easily. Enough emotional damage already, a few more physical effects won't hurt. Give me a good story." She bent over towards him and whispered slyly into his ear, "We don't have to tell anyone what happened. It's safe with me," she winked retracting back from him. William wouldn't be hurt unless she lay a finger on his pretty little boyfriend; which she was not going to do. She just wanted to play a game and wind him up to see if he could get any physical action or even for him to back down. He obviously had anger issues and this made her find it even more fun to let his temper out on something else, someone else.
How did he let his anger out when he didn't want to hurt William? It must be hard because William seemed to be very receptive to anything and easy to back down at the slightest hint of confrontation and Gabe obviously couldn't vent his anger out without hurting him in any way. By powers of deduction, Max had worked out that William had had a troubled past leaving him scarred and like the way he was.
Max had also noticed that when Gabe had looked at him and said a few reassuring words that it was like they had already had a conversation not out loud and therefore Max assumed that one of them had telepathy. Max had forgotten whether Gabe had told her about his so she did not have anything to go by. Even so, she wanted to play a little with William's mind and so shot a few words at him to have fun with:
I still have intelligence behind all these twigs
