Alex followed quickly behind Alice, using her same path to navigate the dangerous spills and stains on the floor. Her life may be one long string of humiliations after the other, there was no use adding, falling on her face in front half the school. After reaching the table Alex stood beside Alice, noticing she was much taller now than she was last night, was it the boots? When Alice asked if she gave the two boys a polite grin and half hearted way all the while staring at the red eyed boy that smile he gave them sent a chill down Alex’s spine and she wasn’t sure why. There was just something she sensed about him that made her uncomfortable.

The vampire turned his attention to something over Jamie's shoulder, and Jamie let out the breath he'd been holding in, propped his feet up on the chair across from him and went back to his book. It wasn't that he was afraid - there were plenty of students here, and he was certain most of them had more appetizing throats then he did. The vampire didn't seem to be concerned with drinking blood or ripping out throats at the moment, at any rate. But still, he was embarrassed at the way he'd came over and made a complete fool of himself, and he was glad that the boy didn't seem to be dwelling on that fact.

James jumped, nearly upsetting his bottle of soda, and turned around to get a look at the girl behind him. Was this who the guy was smiling at? He inspected the short, black-and-white girl more thoroughly than was his habit, paying particular attention to her teeth. One of the vampire's friends, perhaps? But no - she didn't really seem like she knew him. He turned his attention to the girl coming up behind them, noting the way she stared at the boy across from him nervously. It looked as if she'd noticed straight away that the guy was a vampire - James felt another wave of embarrassment wash over him, and he turned back to his book, hunching over shyly. "I don't mind," He mumbled, glancing over at the vampire to see if he cared. He couldn't tell who the monochrome girl was asking, but the other guy had been there first. He popped a piece of watermelon into his mouth, deciding that the best course of action was to shut up and eat his food as quickly as possible.

"Hello. Is it alright if m'friend and I sit at your table?"

He looked the two girls a moment, then gestured to the empty spaces at the table. "I don't mind either. So please, join us. I was starting to fall asleep." He smiled. He started chewing on one of the straws, watching the girls intently a moment or so before setting the straw to the side on his empty tray.

"My names Vachal Valoria, friends call me Val, well, on occasion." The vampire shrugged. He looked at their trays of food, almost feeling jealous of them being able to eat food and it actually have taste. He was born a vampire, so never got to eat real food, but human blood seemed just as good, even if it was quite addictive and he usual couldn't control him so well when he craved it, luckily he was fine for now... for now.

When the young man in black welcomed them, he seemed to do as Alice knew herself to do — he watched. Alice took it as an invitation and looked at him for the length of his pause with her small smirk of curiosity. His eyes were unique. Red. When he broken eye contact and introduced himself — Vachal Valoria — Alice gave a supportive glance to Alex and sat down next to Vachal, leaving room for Alex across from her, next to the other occupant of the table.

...Starting to fall asleep? What does your company think of that, I wonder...

"Thank you for th'seat. M'name's Alice." She gave a small wave.

Alex watched as Vachal chewed on the straw and stared at them with those red eyes. The way he stared at them made Alex’s heart beat faster and the hair on her neck and on end, but why was that. And what kind of name was Vachal Valoria, who in the last hundred years would have even thought that name was a good idea?

Alex finally took a deep breath and took a seat across from Alice. “I’m Alex.” She said introducing herself and trying to open up the clear plastic wrap the sandwich was wrapped in. “So who are you?” Alex asked looking over at the rather skittish looking boy she sat down next too.

James watched the introductions with vague interest, turning his attention back to his book after a moment. He didn't plan on introducing himself - no one had asked, and now that the vampire - Vachal - had someone else to talk to, his original plan of eating his lunch in peace seemed more or less reinstated. Vachal Valoria the vampire. He grinned in spite of himself, popping a grape into his mouth.

It took him a moment to realize the girl beside him was talking to him. Sure, she was looking at him, and his was the only name she didn't know, but he had already convinced himself that he wouldn't be addressed anymore, and it was somewhat surprising. "James," He smiled politely, wondering why she looked so nervous - it was almost as if she was afraid of something. Was it Vachal Valoria the vampire? He couldn't imagine they'd let him into the school if there was any danger of him murdering students. He considered telling her this, but decided against it. It was probably nothing. He wasn't good at reading people, after all; as far as he could tell she could just be feeling sick or anxious or hungry.

He looked at Alex when he heard her heartbeat quicken, the sound almost soothing to his ears, and he sent a half smile just to Alex, before he tilted his head to look at Alice as she introduced herself, then the girl Alex said her name then the boy. So his name was James.

"Its a pleasure to meet you all." He said plainly, drinking the last bit of his drink then picked out a ice cube, tossing in his mouth, sucking on it silently, scanning the faces of the people at his table. When the ice cube was gone he decided to speak.

"You're all knew to the academy, aren't you?" He asked them. He noticed that he hadn't seen them around the school, and he's been here for a couple years already, maybe he just didn't notice people that well and maybe they've been here longer then he thought, but it still didn't interest him much.

Alice had already managed to fit a mouthful of the pasta in her mouth. "Mmmm, mmm," she hummed in reply. This close to the young man, Alice had to admit that Vachal kind of looked out of place, really out of place. My, was the food ever good. Alice replaced pasta she managed to swallow with more before her mouth was ever clear. Was Vachal theatric, or was there something else to it? Still new, she had no idea what to think. With those red eyes of his, maybe he wore the outfit for a Vampire appeal, whatever that was. She smiled at the thought.

She looked to the other who had mentioned that his name was James. He looked much more modest than Vachal. If Alice was not mistaken, he was almost the same size as her, something she almost never saw in boys, them usually being much taller than her. He looked much more natural too, with loose hair that shined a rusty color in the room's light. Alice replaced more pasta. It was strange. The two boys seemed like total opposites. This was a magical school. Maybe they were literally two sides of the same person. A person whose sides had different hair styles and bodily characteristics...she supposed anything could be true at this point.

Alex cracked a smile as she watched Alice practically inhaled her pasta and tried to talk at the same time. “She just got here yesterday evening,” Alex said translating it for Alice. “Me I’ve been here a few months now.” Alex said letting out a frustrated grunt as she clawed at the wrapper around the sandwich. Did they vacuum shrink wrap this thing, Alex wondered, she count’ find the edge where she could peal it off the sandwich. “I don’t blame you for not seeing me. I tend to skip the cafeteria scene.” Her eye twitched a little bit from a sudden surge of pain in the back of her head from the excess background thoughts.

“What about you?” Alex said giving up on her sandwich and taking a sip of her lemonade, it was surprisingly bitter, Alex drank it anyway. “I don’t think I’ve seen you around here.” She still looked at him and those bloody red eyes as she drank. She couldn’t help but feel that he was staring at Alice and James and her not in a way a person looks at a peer but instead in the way a hungry dog looks at a steak. She took a deep gulp of lemonade as she waited for an answer.

He looked at Alice as she ate her food pretty fast, the jealous burned in him again, but it was brief before he looked at Alex as she spoke for the girl, saying that Alice just got here yesterday, and the girl who spoke said she was here for a few months, even though he's never seen her around.

“I don’t blame you for not seeing me. I tend to skip the cafeteria scene.”

He smiled a little. "Me too. I don't eat, so there's little point to even be here now." Well, he did eat, just in a different way and always later at night, he only came here for the soda.

“What about you?” “I don’t think I’ve seen you around here.”

"I've actually been here a while, a couple years I think. Ever since mom got sick of me hanging about and getting in trouble." He grinned a little, but he missed the manor terribly, he wanted to be home with all his siblings, but they all acted like he was still a young vampire, probably because of his childish behavior he had often.
