He ran as hard as he could, his face half obstructed by a map and his backpack smacking against his back hard enough to be painful. He was late, at least by five or maybe even ten minutes, all because this school was so <i>confusing!</i>

Tail twitching and turning in what was clearly agitation, he made another hard left turn down a corridor. This was right, this was definitely the right direction to go, at least, that's what the map said...

Not that the map had helped him before. If it had then he would be in class right now.

Another left.

Now, if his map could be trusted the classroom was right--

--WHAM!!

The sound of him colliding headlong into a brick wall was embarrassingly loud. The map, now torn in two, fluttered onto the ground as his back erupted in a cloud of papers, pens, paperback books, and several bananas now in various stats of smashed and not smashed. For a moment, he lay perfectly still on his back, contemplating why he was here. Why did he ever decide to come to this strange school, filled with strange people and strange things? Why couldn't he have stayed in Turpan with HouLin and his mom?

His frustration, which had been slowly building in of his lower stomach started to bubble and boil until he couldn't keep himself from flailing on the ground in a mixture of childish petulance and a clear temper tantrum.

<font color = ffcb05><b>"Where is class?!"</b></font>He shouted, not bothering to attempt to pick up any part of the mess of ripped paper and smashed bananas that surrounded him. <font color = ffcb05><b>"What is WITH this school?!"</b></font>

"Hold the phone, boss-woman..Is that a monkey boy?" "Look out, Monkey Boy..Mellow'sa comin'!"

He watched eagerly as the Monkey Boy ran blindly toward whatever directions the piece of paper in his hands were giving him. It'd been sometime since he'd seen a Class-A Card like this one, so he decided it best to just sit back and enjoy it for what it was worth; and enjoy it he did. The Monkey Boy took a left, his eyes buried in the paper as he b-lined it straight for the brick wall ahead of him.

"No way..." his eyes widened, stopping himself in his tracks "He can't be that stupid..Is he really about to--"

--WHAM!

At this point, our protagonist burst into laughter; slowly descending onto the ground while doing so. Now being some odd feet away from the Monkey Boy, he watched as he laid upon the ground; his frustration clearly building up. "Here it comes... All at one time, the Monkey Boy began feverishly flailing about on the ground; shouting and screaming his frustrations to the skies above. Mellow, now in a full fledged hysterical form of laughter, fell to the ground himself; his guts well past busted. He began to approach the comedy gold known better as the "Monkey Boy"; his laughter subsiding bit by bit.

"Aww man, you are a riot, dude! Flailing about like a grade-schooler? This has got to be the best way to start a first day of school yet! He bent down, extending his arm to aid his new entertainment in getting back up "Alright, kid. Let's get you up first then worry about picking up your shit.. With a few laughs and chuckles still in him, he gave the boy a smile behind his mask; this moment never truly over. "The name's Mellow Valentine. Guess I'm just about as new as you are. S'ur name, kid?"

<blockquote>Despite the fact that he couldn't control how angry he was that he was lost on his first day of classes, it was clear that he was at least trying to control his volume. Back home, it was possible to get in serious trouble for being too loud when classes were in session, and his voice was naturally that brand of loud and grating that he's trained himself to controlled. Most of his flails were coupled with low groans and small whines what were definitely more simian than human.

As he calmed down, he realized that he could hear something. Well, not something as much as someone, and what he was hearing was most definitely laughter. Craning his neck back a little so it rested flush against the linoleum floor, he could see someone not far away... dressed in a hoodie and... was that a mask?

A beat.

HOLY SHIT WAS THAT A MASK?!

Wei screeched, getting to his feet nimbly, and pressing his back against the wall, his chest rising and falling in a way that looked like he was absolutely freaking out. He shifted his feet a little--oh god he would die, this is how he was going to die after slamming into a wall miles and miles and miles from home--

He felt his back make contact with the floor. Ah. He'd stepped on one of his smashed bananas. Damn it. He wanted to die in a cool way. Like. Killing an elephant. While riding a dragon. </blockquote>

HOLY SHIT WAS THAT A MASK?!

As the monkey boy jolted against the wall with freight, Mellow couldn't help but play into the shenanigans before him. Placing his arm against the wall, he leaned in closer; his mask within touching distance of the boy's face. With a growl and a snarl, his intimidating aura intensified as much as he could make it; trying to be the bad guy this boy thought he was.

"So..you lookin' ta die, punk?..EH?!" He snickered about, hardly being able to retain his gusto for the situation that called for it "This is my territory starting now. Got it, bitch? If you come around here again, I'm gunna have to FUCK YOU U-". Unable to withold his laughter, he took a few steps back; falling to the ground as he erupted into the same full scale laughter as before.

"Dude, I cannot believe you're so scared man. You gotta ease up!" He bent down, aiding the Monkey Boy in picking up his items. He couldn't help but laugh at the boy's helplessness, it almost made him pity the lad "As I said before, the name's Mellow Valentine. You wanna give me your name this time or freakout again?". The two males were clearly more than just a few minutes late for their first class at this point, and judging the fact that Mellow hadn't actually found out where his class was...he'd just have to wing it.

"So, where are you headed, Monkey Boy? One way or another, it looks like I'll be headed there too."

<blockquote>Wei could feel his heart thrumming inside his chest. He was going to die, oh god he was going to die. He didn't even have the chance to make it to his first day of school! He hadn't made any friends, he hadn't learned anything, he hadn't even managed to eat the bananas he'd brought along with him for this day! Oh god, he was going to die hungry, and alone, and unloved on an island in the ocean oh god oh god oh god...!

In his panic, he didn't register the laughter at first, and flinched back from the sound, expecting to be hit. When nothing came he opened one of his eyes, seeing the other boy on the ground near his exploded belongings. Wei stepped away from the wall. Well, if he wanted him dead, he would have killed him right? But... it was baffling that someone like this Mellow Valentine would elect to let him live.

Sliding his backpack off, he grabbed his notebooks and papers, his tail sweeping along the floor and curling around any unsmashed bananas, dropping them into his waiting bag.

When the voice addressed him, he jumped. <font color = ffcb05>"Ah! Uh, well! Uh..."</font> Damn. Actually... this was probably the most terrified he'd been in a long time. But he couldn't shake the feeling that this guy was way nicer than he thought someone like him was supposed to be... <font color = ffcb05>"My name's Wei Hu Sun. It, uh... It means... Towering Monkey. Ironically."</font>

When asked where he was headed he opened his mouth to answer, paused, closed his mouth, and thought for a moment.

Where WAS he going...?

<font color = ffcb05>"I... have no idea...."</font> Patting his pockets and finding them empty, he realized he didn't have his schedule. Did he drop it? Wait. Did he ever even get a schedule?</blockquote>

"My name's Wei Hu Sun. It, uh... It means... Towering Monkey. Ironically." "So, where are you headed, Monkey Boy?" ""I... have no idea...."

"Wei.."

Ever since hearing the name he'd been snickering to the side while engulfed in thought. Despite the fact the two were in a real bind, he couldn't help but snicker; why was that? The audience wondered. Well, the answer shall be revealed in due time - but for now - we all must be patient.

Shifting focus back onto the serious matter at hand. In pursuit of Wei, Mellow neglected to learn of his classes location; any directions towards said location being neglected in the process. If these two didn't find their way to their respective classes soon, they'd been in some serious trouble from the staff. He looked around him, searching for any clue as to where they might be and how they could get to the classrooms. For a moment, all had seemed lost — that was of course, until he noticed the large list located next to the brick wall Wei smooched with.

"Oh, you gotta be kidding me.."

Quickly scanning the list before him, he located his name and general location of his classroom but nothing solid and concrete...yeah, he could have studied it for a few more minutes to find the answers he sought, so what? Seeing as he didn't go through with option A, he quickly formed a quicker, more entertaining option B. "I'm just going to burst through every door in that general location until I find my classroom."

Scanning the area once more, he formed an educated guess(he saw the signs posted around the area) concerning the location of his class. He turned to Wei, not ever taking the time to ask if he was a college student like himself, and pointed towards that direction; a large, wide grin behind his mask. "Well don't just stand there...pfft...Show me the WEI!"

<blockquote>Once all his possessions were back in his bag, he zipped it up tightly and swung it back onto his back. Since he was still in one piece, he figured Mellow must not be a part of Them, and was only wearing the mask for fun. Not that he could ever consider wearing a mask to be fun, but They weren't known for their mercy, so he elected to just let it go for now.

Grabbing a banana and peeling it, he followed behind him, hopping a couple times to get a good look at the list, which was not placed at good height for optimal viewing for short monkey boys.

He scanned the list for his name, and once he found it, he looked on the other half of the paper, reading for the location of his first class.

<font color = ffcb05>"You know. This isn't. Really a. Good system for. Finding classes. On the first. Day."</font> He said, punctuating his words with a bounce to keep reading. <font color = ffcb05>"Are all. Schools. On the ocean. Like this?"</font>

When Mellow turned to him and told him to show him the 'Wei', he stopped jumping and stared at him. He stared for a long time before--

<font color = ffcb05>"Pfft. Pffft! Ahahaha!"</font> Yeah. This guy was definitely not one of Them. Wei laughed for a bit, took a big bite out of his banana, and pointed to his name on the list.

<font color = ffcb05>"Well, this list says my class in the South West Wing... so... wherever that is."</font></blockquote>

"Are all. Schools. On the ocean. Like this?". "Well, this list says my class in the South West Wing... so... wherever that is.".

"The South West Wing.."

He took a look at the list once more, slowly scanning it this time to check what years the South West Wing contained. It hadn't been until he located it did he make a ground breaking yet perspective placing discovery. Turning to stare down the Monkey Boy, he looked long and hard before confirming his newfound knowledge.

"Yup, you're a kid alright..

"So, what year of high school you in, Wei?" He began to look the boy up and down; sizing him up so to speak "Judging by the height, I'm going to assume you're a freshman and no older than sixteen...ish. With a smirk and a chuckle, he looked around the surrounding area until he noticed a "Southwest Wing" sign some distance away; sighing at the distance part of the situation - that was until he realized he could fly there.

Wait — just how far was his classroom from Wei's?

Taking this question in mind with him, he lifted himself up into the air; maintaining his balance while his eyes focused on the sign. "Alright kid, we don't have anymore time to WEIste..pfft..let's head to The South West Wing and get this done. I got class to attend."

<blockquote><font color = mediumpurple>"Yup, you're a kid alright."</font>

Wei turned to look at him when he said that, his jaw going still. His left cheek was puffed out, holding mushed up banana and sharp teeth. <font color = ffcb05>"Yesh,"</font> He said, realized he had food still in his mouth, and quickly swallowed, coughing for a moment to clear his throat of the sudden passage of mashed up potassium.

<font color = ffcb05>"Yes, I'm a kid. Would you like to take a guess at my species next, or...?"</font> Wei made a gesture toward himself before checking the list again, resuming his rhythmic bounce. The list was too long for him to try and track down Mellow Valentine's name, not to mention he wouldn't actually know what Mellow's name even looked like. Finding his own name was easy, he recognized the familiar characters that made them up just as easily as he could recognize a banana in a group of bright red apples.

The hair on the back of his neck prickled as he watched the masked man float into the air. Tendrils of fear were tickling at the tips of his fingers before he made another pun. Unfortunately though, the joke wasn't as funny when the spell translated it into Chinese.

Swiping his tail from side to side, Wei started to run from the list, following the directions to the SouthWest Wing of the School.</blockquote>
