"Are you? Either way it's a solid yes, I'd love to." She decided that she liked being around him, he was fun and knew how to take people to exciting places. As she wove around the crowd, trying to stick close to Hadrian, she jumped when a cheer resounded through the colosseum. Speeding up, Ania was close on Hadrian's heels when they stopped. Getting an idea, Ania pulled Hadrian back a bit, just so that they were more hidden in the shadows. Perhaps if she distracted the guard and got that weapon away, they'd have a better chance. "I'll distract, and you grab?"

Wandering out through the threshold, she approached the guard with feigned interest. When he noticed her, he appeared to be genuinely curious, especially in her hair. He seemed to want to touch it, and she suffered the somewhat heavy-handed tugs. He spoke, but she couldn't understand the foreign accent or language. Her distraction worked, though, as he leaned his spear up against the wall to fully pay attention to this new point of interest. Flirting was a bit awkward if you couldn't use words, and the guard seemed to be getting frustrated with her lack of speech. She felt a bit frightened when his body language suggested he was becoming more aggressive, and was confused when he calmed down. After a long string of confusing words, the guard calmed back down completely, and almost looked relaxed.

<div align=center>"Yeah," Hadrian admitted with a shrug, "I am." He lifted a hand and patted her on the head again, the hand he was holding onto hers squeezed a little tighter, in an almost unthinking sort of way. He stumbled a little when she stopped, confused until she spoke. He nodded, that was a good plan. "You think you can get away?" He asked, the guard would come after him, no doubt, but if Hadrian ran, he would get separated from Ania, and he really didn't want that to happen. He thought about it for a moment, "I will carry you, okay?" Either that or he could grab her hand, both will slow me down. He supposed it was just what happened in the heat of the moment from now on.

He watched Ania cautiously as she approached the guard, ensuring he was more or less out of sight. Some strange emotion stirred somewhere within him, though he couldn't have said quite what it was. He pushed himself away from the wall, and ran. More or less as fast as he could. It all happened very quickly, he'd snatched the hat from the guards head, grabbed Ania around the waist and ran, hauling her up halfway onto his shoulder. She wasn't really at all heavy, so it wasn't really that difficult.</div>

Before she knew it, she was being hauled up somewhere. For a moment, Ania thought that the guard had decided to carry her off, but then she saw the now confused guard patting the top of his head. Wiggling a bit, Ania adjusted herself and wrapped her legs around Hadrian for better balance. She was mildly worried when the guard recovered and began to ran after them with his spear. "Ah, he's following us!" He looked awfully angry, too. Perhaps the hat theft wasn't the most clever idea, but now they had a hat. Euphoria struck her when she realised that they had managed to steal armour from a Roman guard.

The guard was losing his stamina quickly, though. It was probably all that armour holding him down. It didn't look properly ventilated, and the poor man must have been so hot. She hoped he wouldn't get into too much trouble for letting his hat wander off. A few seconds later, the guard stopped, and appeared to give up. Hugging Hadrian around his neck, she felt quite victorious. "I think he gave up! We made it! That wasn't so bad. You still have the hat, right?"

<div align=center>A burst of adrenaline zipped through the boy, and he picked up his speed all of a sudden, glancing behind himself once at the man still running behind them. He was laughing though, and it was a genuine, very un-Hadrian sort of laugh. He was actually having fun. He didn't much like the look of that spear, though, and was slightly relieved when the guard began to slow down, he wasn't sure how long he could keep this pace up. Ania confirmed in his ear that the guard had given up, he shot a bright smile back at her. "I've still got it!"

Hadrian slowed down after five more minutes or so, only once he was completely sure that the guard could no longer catch them. By the time he came to a stop, he was panting hard and he could hear his heart hammering in his ears. It took him a good minute to catch his breath, "oh God... I need to.. Work out more..." He laughed, in between pants, and shook his head a little. Hadie let Ania climb down off him, "you alright?" He asked, before glancing down to the shiny, golden hat in his hand. It had a large, red plume on the top. He placed it on top of Ania's head, "ah! Perfect!"</div>

Feeling a bit like a monkey, Ania slowly slid off Hadrian. She hadn't done any running, but she still was a bit tired. "I hope I wasn't too heavy." She hadn't been on a diet in forever, but she supposed that if she was to go on a date, it was a good time to start. Her eyes lit up when he produced the hat, and she admired it's pretty colours. Cackling when he placed it on her, she reached up on reflex and ran her fingers over the fluff on top. It hadn't been the texture she expected, and it only made her touch it more. "It's so fun to play with! I'm so happy!" She couldn't stop giggling, her hands running back and forth almost obsessively.

Pouncing forward, Ania wrapped her arms around him in a tight hug. "Thank you! It's so fun to play with! I'm glad you brought me here. I think I can die happy, now." Releasing him, she looked around with new interest. Their new location was a bit unfamiliar, but still interesting. The long shadows made everything look more dramatic and bold. "What should we do next?"

<div align=center>"Heavy?" Hadrian asked, lifting an eyebrow and shaking his head. "God no." It was nice to see her so excited about it, though then again she'd never been anywhere like this before, had she? "I don't mind carrying you." He laughed, she looked cute in the hat, albeit it was just a little too big for her. He wasn't sure what the time was, nor if clocks were even invented in this time. He didn't think he could judge it by the sun, either, Hadie wasn't really all that good at that, he was used to having a watch most of the time. "I'm glad you're happy, it suits you."

He was a little surprised at the hug, taking a second or two to reciprocate it. "Really?" He asked, "you could die happy? I kinda hope you don't die anytime soon." When Ania let him go, he leaned down to her level, and pressed a small, soft kiss to her cheek. "I'm not sure," he stood straight again, "what do you wanna do?" They could probably just wander around until they found something to do, it probably wouldn't take all that long, and the streets were far more empty than they had been before.</div>

He would regret saying that he didn't mind carrying her, no doubt. She would milk that for all it was worth. After all, why bother walking yourself when there was a perfectly good person willing to do it for you? "Oh! I'll make sure to find time to die after the zoo date. Can't miss that one." She wouldn't miss that for the world. Animals were the most exciting thing to Ania, especially if you could buy a stuffed animal of one afterwards. Touching the spot where he kissed her, Ania spaced out for a moment, smiling blankly. She realised that he had asked her something, catching the ending just in time. Assuming that he was asking her what to do, she hurridly tried to think of something before she looked too off.

"Oh! Would you want to explore?" She didn't really have anything else on her to-do list in Rome, but it would be nice to sight-see a bit more before going home. The city almost looked empty, and it would be a nice change to walk aimlessly. Taking Hadrian's hand, Ania tugged him in a random direction. "So, what kind of life do you have?" It was an odd question, but it was always fun to learn about new friends.

<div align=center>Hadie shook his head a little. The zoo would be fun, though, he hadn't visited one in a very long time, not since he was a child, anyhow. His parents had always told him he didn't need to go to a zoo because he had pets of his own, which he would always argue wasn't true, I only have one pet. He nodded at her next question, he thought exploring would be fun for a little while, until it got dark at least, perhaps they could go and look at one of the bath houses, he didn't much fancy going anywhere near a Roman toilet, though.

"What kind of a life do I have?" He pondered on this question for a moment, uneventful was one way to put it, at least he thought it was pretty uneventful, but he supposed in the eyes of someone else, it wouldn't be. "I don't live on campus, for a start." He told her, he wasn't allowed to have Altair on campus, and he certainly wasn't leaving him behind, therefore his parents had bought him a house in the city. "My pet isn't allowed on school grounds." He wondered if he should leave out the detail that he was more or less filthy rich, Hadrian's parents supplied him with a constant supply of cash, which unfortunately the boy abused just a little. "My parents are stockbrokers, we're kind of uh... Rich."</div>

"Your pet?" She had seen horses and cats and dogs on campus, so what kind of pet did he have that it wasn't allowed on school grounds? "What kind of pet do you have?" It must be a very exotic, like a giraffe. Were giraffes allowed on campus? They should be, that would be a neat ride to school. Especially if he was rich! Rich was an empty word, though. Even a little bit of money could be considered riches to some people. Stuffed animals was a much nicer way to measure wealth. "Rich? So, how many stuffed animals could you buy if you pooled all your money together?"

His life sounded quite interesting. Perhaps if he could buy many stuffed animals, he could fill an entire room with them! That would be a good way to spend your money. A room full of stuffed animals and pillows sounded like a very nice nest to sit in. "You should fill a room with stuffed animals. Or kittens. Either would do, I think."

<div align=center>"Well, uh.." Hadrian laughed a little, he wondered if she'd even believe him about this, "he's a tiger." A lot of students had pets here, but he didn't think there was anything more unusual than a horse living on campus. Altair was considered a dangerous animal, apparently, though that wasn't true at all. He was more or less exactly like a very large cat, it wasn't all that fun to have him try and curl up on your bed at night though, he was probably more than double Hadrian's weight. "I guess he's considered dangerous... He isn't, though, he wouldn't hurt a fly." That was perhaps a little bit of a lie, since Hadrian had walked home from school multiple times with Altair dragging half a deer carcass behind him. Don't you dare bring that into the house!

"I don't know... Quite a lot, I'd imagine." He laughed awkwardly, he felt like he was boasting about it, and usually he'd like the idea of that, but for some reason, right now he didn't. He didn't want to come across as arrogant toward her, though, Hadrian was in fact, rather arrogant. He wasn't sure what Altair would think of a room filled with kittens, but the idea of it was nice. "I get the feeling you would like that a lot."</div>
