It had been a long month, and it only looked like it was going to get longer. March wasn't even half over, and even so Angelo was ready for it to be over. He'd had a headache since the party, and Angelo had a sneaking but so far unproven suspicion that he'd somehow gotten shorter. It wasn't just slouching--his pants didn't fit quite right, and everything was a bit too long. He also couldn't keep himself from talking quickly, a tendency to blabber that didn't seem to go away.

Even so, he had it easy compared to most.

Lots of people were suffering from memory loss, and Angelo couldn't help but wonder if Desmond had already had memory loss, or if he had just gotten sick faster then most people. He supposed it didn't really matter. The results were the same, and there was pretty much no way that Desmond wasn't already sick.

Which was one of the many, many reasons Angelo had brought the guy back to his place. He didn't want anyone sleeping on the street to begin with, but Desmond was... addled and probably ill.

He'd gotten him a pizza, grabbed him some blankets, left a note for Jack, and set Desmond up on the couch. He'd avoided asking to many questions, saving them for the morning, but now the morning had come, Angelo had showered, and Desmond was going to have to talk.

"Desmond?" Angelo called as he headed down the stairs from his own room.

Well last night was a fun ride. From flying around to somehow ending up in a dumpster Desmond was clearly having way too much fun.

The night ended great since he got some cool dumpster rats and free food. Dumpster Rats and Free Food is clearly the highlight of the night.

Desmond was sleeping like a baby, a big moth baby cuddling sleeping dumpster rats. Upon the entrance of Angelo the rats awoken and scurried onto Desmond's face which actually caused him to wake up.

He simply just rolled off of the couch and hit the floor. "Yup, awake! Is it time for me to go?"

The rats were, being realistic, a step too far. Jack would probably have a fit if he found out, and Angelo cringed as he watched them scurry. At least Desmond seemed to have them... sort of under control?

Maybe he was expecting too much.

"Uh, I guess? Mostly I want to know where you're going after this. You need an address... a place to sleep. There's homeless shelters if you don't have any resources. It's not really safe to sleep on the street."

Despite the fact that it wasn't long after waking up, Angelo was already wired to go, talking a little bit too fast and fighting off a throbbing headache.

"Homeless Shelters are meh. I don't like them for reasons I don't feel like explaining right now." Desmond sluggishly rolled around on the floor before fully getting up.

Homeless Shelters was a no go for him. He eyed Angelo for a bit has he picked up on the speed at which he was talking. Was Mr. Speedy Gonzalez was just trying to rush this? "You should chill on the Red Bull." Nah clearly copper here has a energy drink problem.

"Streets are better than a homeless shelter for me plus I can't stay in the same place for too long or I get annoyed by it." Desmond began to usher the rats towards the door along with bringing whatever he brought with him....did he bring anything? Dunno since he was somewhat high last night.

"So basically living on the streets seems fine by me."

Angelo, being realistic, didn't know all that much about Desmodn. He didn't know what his life was like or why he was on the streets, but there was no real reason to be on the streets. The fact that his head kept throbbing didn't help things, but Angelo wasn't going to just kick Desmond out.

"It's not really safe or healthy," Angelo said. "There's resources to make sure you have a place to sleep. What are you going to do in the winter?" Angelo was not terribly aware of all the resources available, but he definitely knew he could look it up pretty easily. "I mean, do you want to be homeless or something?"

Because really, Angelo couldn't figure out why anyone would have been homeless as long as Desmond had, even if he did hate homeless shelters.

Desmond plucked at the fluff of his wings and listened to Angelo. It was truly not safe or healthy at all but it was fun? Something about it was fun to Desmond but that wasn't really the reason for him being on the streets. He did have a home which was his van but that is long gone now. "Well this winter I'm not sure yet. Past winters I lived in my van."

Then there was the question of him wanting to be homeless. Did he? He didn't think he wanted to be homeless it's more of him just being used to it. "Not really....I like a place to stay maybe but" he stopped and tapped his chin.

"Kinda hard for me to live in places? I uh can't stay in one place for too long. Yeah it doesn't make sense and I can't really explain it but it is probably the reason why. I mean when I lived in my van I always parked in different places rather than going back to the same spot."

Angelo didn't get it. He'd always lived in the same place, more or less. He hadn't really moved around a lot, and he found the idea of moving to be repugnant.

He knew, realistically speaking, that he should try and be understanding, but boy was it hard. It was just such a different way of living that he couldn't help but struggle.

"I..." Angelo said, pausing as he tried to wrap his head around it. "I mean - okay, what happened to your van?" Might as well start with that, since it was such a big part of the story. If Desmond had his van, at least... okay, well, maybe he'd be less homeless.

"Do you think having to move around might be related to your... uh, mothness?"

Was there a technical term for that?

Desmond was trying, he was really trying not to giggle at the fact Angelo was just going to struggle the entire time with this. To Desmond this was funny watching someone trying to understand his entire way of life which has yet to be done.

"Oh the van..." Desmond frowned as the memories of the van was a bit fuzzy. There wasn't much he really remembered about it. "I know it got towed during the new years party....but...after that I don't know." Nope. Nothing really useful about that.

He tilted his head and looked at the rat family he had. "Maybe it's because of the mothness or maybe it's because I just developed a habit of it." Desmond shrugged also clearly not really understanding his way of life.

One cannot simply understand the being known as Desmoth.

"The rats want more food I think."

Christ, new years? That was months ago. Thinking back on it... The police had probably towed the van and then sent a letter to whatever Desmon'd last known address was.

Which was not where he lived.

So he'd been homeless.

Angelo rubbed at his temples.

"Ignore the rats for a moment," Angelo said. "Did you not think to check in and get your van out of the impound? It should have been free after the whole fiasco at the party."

"Wait it would have been free?"

Let's just sit here and take a moment. This will just have been a good minute of silence because the idea of getting his van back for free never crossed his mind. You can't blame him, he didn't know! "So....you are saying I could have been had my van back for free?"

Desmond let this thought sink in some more. He was thinking and just was a bit surprised and mystified. "Is it still for free?" the question that took several minutes to come up with.

Well he was sure there was a low chance it was still for free. Desmond was also sure there may be a low chance of them still having the van, it has been months. He didn't know how all this stuff worked anyway so let's leave that to Angelo to explain!
