"Good to know it doesn't bother you. I hope other people feel that way." Shinji said as he began to calm his himself finally. His brain wasn't as active as it was before, thankfully, so now he was able to fully un-stick the key from his right hand. It fell ever so softly into his pocket, making no noise whatsoever. He looked her in the eyes and saw how intrigued she was with his ability. She even mirrored his actions to a certain point. She was unable to make the lightning stream as he did but was able to mirror him almost perfectly. This made Shinji smile. He was glad to see someone who was able to enjoy his abilities as much as he did himself. "The first time someone melds can be...strange. Please do not be alarmed." She said to him after his demonstration. His expression became confused as he didn't know what was happening. "She must be reading to 'meld' with me since I suggested it. This should be fun." He thought as she placed her hands on his head. Shinji's heart began to race in anticipation on what was going to happen. He had never done this before and had no idea how strange it could get so he was a bit nervous even though this was his idea in the first place. Her fingers felt cold on his head as if she had just stuck them into a bucket of ice before touching him. A small chill went through his spine from this. She closed her eyes as she was beginning the process. he felt nothing for a moment and everything was normal, "Did it not wo--" He began to say as he was cut off by a soft voice in his head.

A voice in his head, faint but legible. It was soft soothing and showed emotion in every word. "Was this really her?" He thought to himself as he only knew of a girl with no emotion and no expression. Fragments of another world began to appear through the scenery. His stared at her face as this was all he could see because of him being so close to her so she could put her hands on his head. Her eye was still closed but his were not. his eyes moving frantically trying to look at each fragment before it disappeared completely. Soon enough he closed his eyes and each picture got more and more clear. As he focused he could see a beautiful planet of ice and nothing more. Some parts were barren indeed like a dessert of ice but others....others were beautifully sculpted and laid out in perfection. Shinji was in awe of what he saw. "So this is her planet..." He thought as her echoed through his mind. "My original name is Syntha T'Gani, an "Operator" from the former system of Aridia, Eta Carinae. .054 cycles of age, 27 Earth years. I was selected as the last of my kind to preserve the knowledge of an entire species, so that others would know we existed. The operators, and Earth know me as 'Cytus.' It is good to meet you!" She said to him, ever so calmly with much emotion that showed how much she loved her own planet and race. She said her name proudly as well. Shinji didn't know whether or not to speak within his head or to speak aloud but he had to do one. He figured speaking aloud was his best bet since her body outside would be able to hear it. "So this is your planet? Its more beautiful than I imagined." He stopped to look at more of these fragmented flashes of her planet. One was more frequent than others but he couldn't quite make out what it was.

Eventually, as Shinji continued his look into Syntha or Cytus's mind, each fragment seemed to race past his eyes faster and faster as he felt more and more of her inner thoughts of her planet and race. he was fascinated and wanted know more. he wouldn't dare tell her to stop if the need wasn't great enough because he was so interested in learning more about this race of hers. Everything was moving faster now that some time has passed. "Its nice to meet you Syntha, or should I call you Cytus?" He asked wondering what she preferred since he may very well be the only person to know of this name. In his opinion, Syntha suited her more and it 'tickled' his tongue in an unusual manner. He liked it but was unsure if she wanted him to call her that. Later on, though, he continued talking aloud. "Anyways, my name is Shinji Itami in case you were wondering. Its great to actually here you with such feeling in your voice now." He began to smile after saying this and hoped that she would feel better about living on Earth now that she had 'melded' with him. He didn't know if it was possible for her to look into his mind but he actually wanted her to so that she could learn more about the Human culture or at least how some of it works. Get her to be just that much more knowledge about how we all operate and see one another.

Ooc- Sorry, I didn't realize this post would be so long :/

Even maintaining a meld like this was stressing; the images that Shinji were getting were sporadic and fragmented, almost like watching an old torn film. Still in color of course, but still problematic. Psionics was apparently still a ways off for the poor lady.

"These images are how the Aenari see Aridia. It would have likely looked very different to a native Aridian...or a human."

In another strange twist, Shinji would probably not see Cytus during the meld as she is, but instead as she was. A native with much longer hair, adornments, and a simple white dress, instead of the more protective, material holographic wear she wore as an operator. Even stranger, her fingers would feel much warmer as well.

"I enjoy both names; the operators were loving and caring people, and gave me the name Cytus before I departed. My other friends called me Kali, a shortening of my secondary name. I'm afraid our time here is nearly up however. But it was indeed wonderful!"

And just like that, fingers still attached to Shinji's head, Cytus lost the ability to transmit anything, and try as she might, failed to get anything new across. She removed her hands as holographic gloves formed around them. Her eyes were still closed however.

"My head is quite painful."

Although without a meld, you wouldn't know it by the tone of her voice. The emotion had once again drained out.

"I must take my leave soon and rest. It is late Shinji, you should also rest soon."

Shinji was only able to see small fragments of what Cytus was trying to him now that she was becoming more and more stressed. She told him that this was how her people saw their own planet. It wasn't a bad way to see it anyways. It was actually a pretty well sought out image of what it would have been like to live there. He was unable to see very clear images of the place, though he could see them well enough to get a legible image of what it may have been like. Within one of the images, Shinji was able to see one of the inhabitants of the planet. Most likely her more than anyone else. But he only got a glimpse of her. He saw white. It was bright like it was illuminated by the sun at a very close range. As the time went by and the images went faster past his eyes, Cytus's hands began to get warmer. Much warmer than when she had first touched him to make the 'meld' happen. But soon, just as fast as it had started, it all ended. Everything was gone and Shinji saw nothing but the back of his eyelids. Her hands still on his head. "Is it over?" He thought to himself. He was still a little in shock from what he had seen. He opened his eyes and stumbled back a little as he was dazed from the abnormal event. He wasn't used to that happening so of course he was going to be a little off after that. She removed her hands from his head and stated that her head was hurting. "That must have been some hard experience for you to be giving in so soon. You will definitely need practice." He smiled after saying this to her.

He straightened himself up before he heard her say that it was late and they both needed to rest. he knew that this was true and she was clearly going to need it after that. Not trying to be rude and keep her from her rest, he decided to be the first to leave. "I guess it is late. I wont hold you up any longer." He said with a smirk. He stuck his hands back into his pockets and turned to the exit from the roof. "It was nice to meet you Cytus, hope to see you around." He began to leave and walk away. "Hmm, she really is distant from this planet and will definitely need to get used to our culture. That'll take awhile for her to do." He thought to himself as he walked away from her. The wind getting heavier than before and brushing his hair far out of place. Shinji didn't look back as he left the roof. he felt oddly tired now and would definitely need to get some rest before doing anything more at this academy.

"The ability will come back soon. It is only a matter of time."

The condition was not permanent thankfully, but like a case of amnesia, it took a little while to remember how to do certain things, how to work her thoughts with some amount of finesse instead of relying on brute force of energy.

Although she was about to leave herself, Shinji took the initiative and started leaving first, and although Cytus was still being addressed, she did not move or turn to look at him. That wasn't to say however that she was not listening. Quite the opposite in fact, and just as he had been polite, she would give him the same courtesy.

"Please take care, Shinji. I will be back at the same time tomorrow night."

As he left, she looked back towards the false light of Eta Carinae, and with just a tap on her wrist, disappeared in a wave of swirling light herself.

There was still much to learn, and much to see.

- Holy crap I ended one.
