"Kartik... I'm 15... " he said, quietly. Then he looked up at her, peircing red eyes softening slightly so they didnt look as cold and mean. She didnt care he was a vampire and that at any time he could suck all the blood out of her body.

"Aren't you afraid of me?" he asked, very confused.

Joe shrugged. "You haven't done anything to make me afraid of you. So why would you think I would be?"

"Doesn't it scare you to know what Icould do though? " he asked. HE still didn't understand ow anyone could not be terrified of him. He would be terrified if he was in her position.

Joe shrugged. "I suppose I'll cross that bridge when I come to it." She smiled. "You going to keep playing?"

'You really don't care... Thats a first..." he said, sighing. HE trailed off at the end, but then he nodded.

"Ya, I'll keep playing. Any requests?" he asked. He looked at her. He noticed she was smiling and half of him wanted to smile.

He nodded and began to play a song he had written himself. When he was finished, he looked at her, looking to see what she thought of the song.

"What did you think?" he asked curiously. He for a second, then continued.

"Do you play an instrument, or sing or anything??" he asked.

She nodded. "I can sing...."

"Sing for me. " he said quickly. He was eager to hear her sing. HE was also suddenly happy she had gotten him to talk to her. HE looked at her hesitanly. He hoped she wouldn't think he was weird or anything. He got really nervous.

Joe thought a moment whether to take him up on his request or not, then decided to. She smiled slightly. "Okay." She softly began singing a song, her voice hitting every note correctly. On the last note, she held it out for a bit before her oice faded to nothing.
