What in the world did he get me?!

Adelina smiled inwardly at what Andrew said, but nodded her head for October and Dani. "See?" she said. "I love parties!! I don't know what could have convinced you two otherwise." She shook her head, then rubbed her chin thoughtfully, as if thinking of a reason that they would think that she didn't like parties.

October just blinked at Andrew's response. Why hadn't he agreed with them? He knew that Adelina didn't like parties. "Um... Andrew? Lina? Are you two feeling alright?" she asked hesitantly.

Adelina put a confused look onto her face. "Yeah, I feel perfectly fine..." she said. She shook her head. "Anyway, it's late. Octie, you need to go to bed." October sighed, but nodded her head.

"Night Dani, night Andrew. Merry Christmas." She turned to Dani. "Dani, if you figure out what happened to them, tell me," she whispered quietly, and walked out of the lounge.

October glanced at Dani when she followed her out, though she said nothing.

Adelina watched as the two left, then watched as Andrew walked over to the couch and sat down. It had been a long day, and she was tired, but she didn't feel like going to bed yet. She walked over to the cough as well and sat down next to him, leaning her head against his shoulder. She was silent for a few moments before speaking.

"So...." she began slowly. "You won't tell anyone about what happened in the car, right?"

Adelina smiled. "Good," she told him. She supposed that he didn't really have anyone to tell except for their sisters, but she didn't even want Dani or October to know, to be honest. "Because I wouldn't be happy if you told anyone." She poked his side, smiling once again.

Adelina laughed for a while when he mentioned that. "Yeah," she said. "I thought October would have known otherwise, but I guess not. And Dani, too, since she knew how I acted at the last festival." She nodded her head. She went silent for a moment, thinking about how horrible her behavior had been at the last school celebration. Absolutely unacceptable... there was no way she was going to act like that at the next one. No way. She was still mean to other people most of the time, but she wouldn't never again act that way toward Andrew, Dani, or October.

"I promise I won't act the same way at this dance as I did at the festival," she said. "And if it seems like I'm not having fun... yeah, stop me before I get mean. Ok?"
