"C-cute?" her cheeks would would turn an add shade of purple as she blushed. "Its not cute," she'd say, "it means death...because I am death...not cute, I'm not cute." She'd squirm in her face, trying to hide the fact that she was blushing.

The half reaper would grumble to herself. "Uh...uh....," she'd clear her throat, "I'm not good at talking......or maybe talking was dumb?" Her name being called cute had thrown her off.

"Look....," she'd clear her throat. "Why are you doing this?"

Katie let out a small giggle at Vespas blush. "Having a cute name's not a bad thing, silly." Katie said, before continuing. "But, if you want, I won't call it cute, ok?" trying to reassure Vespa. After all, she wasn't trying to make the other girl uncomfortable, instead she just wanted her to open up a bit.

Then Vespa asked her why she doing this? Katie hesitated for a moment, after all, they'd done this before right? Maybe Vespa was just forgetful, Katie reasoned to herself. "I've seen you around campus a few times.. And you always were alone, so, I thought you could use a friend!"

"I-I didn't say you couldn't call it cute," she'd say with huff, "I just said that it isn't cute....and that I'm not cute...you can do whatever you want." She'd brush her hair out of her face and adjusted her skull.

Vespa tilted her head. "People don't usually just...want to be someone's friend...usually they only do it because they want something." She'd lean in, looking at her and squinting at her a little.

"So you just want to be my friend?" she'd ask.

Katie nodded as Vespa spoke. Though she still didn't quite understand Vespas opposition to her name being called "Cute" she would honor still her request.

The next words from Vespas mouth caused her to freeze. Did... did she really think that Katie was doing all of this just because she wanted something from Vespa? She looked at the other girl, as if trying to gage what she was thinking. "It... It's not like that, I swear!" she said, pleading to Vespa and hoping that she would believe her.

Of course, Vespas follow up caused her to let an audible sigh of relief. Katie was relieved that it seemed that Vespa didn't really think that little of her. "Yup!" she said with a smile. Finally things were looking up!

She'd continue to squint at her. "Uhuh...," the reaper would click her tongue. "You do realize were like complete opposites right?" she'd ask. "I'm a dark reaper, you're like sunshine incarnate," the other girl did seem super bright and happy.

"Well.....uh....," she wasn't really sure what to say, or how to react to this girl wanting to be her friend.

"Why do you want to be my friend?" she'd ask, tilting her head. "What do friends do?"

Katie laughed as Vespa pointed out just how different they where. Vespa wasn't wrong in her analysis either, but Katie wouldn't let that stop her. Not after she'd gotten this far. "Oh come on, it's like that one saying about ummm." Katie trailed off as she tried to think of the phrase. "Differences attract?" She said giving a weak smile, hoping that Vespa understood her point.

"Well, friends go and do things with each other. Like, going to the movies, or even just going to each others house or dorm and hanging ou..." Katie nearly jumped with excitement as she thought this over in head, she quickly turned to Vespa, hoping she'd agree to this.

"We need to have a sleepover!" She yelled, clearly very excited at the idea.

"I think it's opposites attract?" she'd say, knowing full well that it was. "Which......I guess we are opposites," she was dark and gloomy, while the other girl was bright and happy.

Vespa jumped, having been a little startled by the outburst. "Sleepover?" she'd squint. "As in one of us sleeping in the others home?" she'd heard of them but obviously had never taken part in it.

"Why do you want to do that?" she'd ask that, not knowing what the point if sleepovers was.

Katie let out a sigh of relief that Vespa had gotten the point she was trying to make. Opposites certainly attract, at least if their current interaction had been anything to go by. Now she was on the verge of talking Vespa into a sleepover! She could barely contain her excitement.

"Well duh. That's the name right?" she asked giggling a little, before continuing. "Cus it'll be fun! We can talk, and watch movies, and paint our nails and, and and.." she took a deep breath, and paused for a moment to clear her mind before continuing. "Well, what do you say?!" She asked, while crossing her fingers and silently praying for a yes.

"I've never painted my nails, and I doubt you'd like the movies I watch," at least not the ones she'd admit to watching. "I watch mostly horror films, ones with skulls and gore and all that good stuff," she'd say, wanting to see how she reacted.

She'd squint a little at her. "Well......I don't know," she'd tilt her head, this was a first, most didn't bother to try and be her friend.

"Why do you want to have a sleepover with me?" she'd ask, still slightly confused.

"Well... I'm sure we can figure something out. That's the fun of it!" Katie said, offering a sheepish smile. Horror movies were probably her least favorite kind of film, though she wouldn't admit that to Vespa.

"Come on, I promise it'll be fun! We could even find some other people if you want." Katie was really trying to sell Vespa on the idea, though it didn't seem that the other girl shared her enthusiasm at the idea. Soo, Katie changed tactics.

"It doesn't even need to be a sleepover! We could just go out and do something together, if you want." Katie was really hoping that while Vespa may not be sold on a sleepover, she would be willing to go out and do something with her.
