weird boi talks lots

Luna stood there for a while as Nix stood there. They were silent for a bit before he spoke up.

"I'm sorry, haha, it was just..."

What..? What could he be sorry for? He didn't do anything wrong...He went on to explain that it wasn't Luna's fault at all. But that he just wanted to explain. So she knew what was happening for a next time if there was a next time. Which she sincerely hoped there wasn't a next time...She didn't want Nix to feel more horrible than he already was. It was clear he felt bad for doing it in front of Luna, but what could he have done?

"Of course it's okay! I'm here for you if you need me yeah? Just know there's nothing wrong with you doing it in front of me if it does happen again. I'm not here to beat you down, I'm here to bring you up," Luna replied, giving Nix a kind smile.

She sat down on the couch and gently patted the spot right next to her, beckoning him to also sit. Hopefully it'd help him relax...Maybe she should get him some chamomile tea. Or maybe not...It could be best for him to get it out of his system now rather than wait since it was at the front of his mind. Afterwards then.

Freakouts having to do with some sort of deja-vu? Luna wondered if Nix meant something along the lines of a trigger causing a panic attack of some kind. Like what some PTSD episodes can be. It was kind of what he had done but...she really didn't want to give him a 'diagnosis' when it wasn't even a real diagnosis at all. It was just a guess.
Either way, this was really worrying. Nix couldn't talk very well, he had trouble putting thoughts to words it seemed like, so Luna wanted to be there for him as much as possible. She gently grabbed his hands and rubbed the top of them with her thumb on each hand, trying to ground him into the now.

"Breathe buddy...In the nose, out the mouth, okay..? Take your time..."

To get him going, Luna breathed in the way she instructed. Into the nose, out of the mouth. She continued gently massaging his hands as she did so.

"She what, Nix..? Breathe..."

Luna thought back to a time when she lost people. Many. Many people. He lost someone dear to him, and she lost people dear to her. She stopped massaging Nix's hands and sat back, thinking about what he said for a moment before speaking.

"I-I'm sorry that that happened to you...Having lost people as well that's...I can see..."

She was trying to find words to say but it was hard to. Thoughts about what to say strayed to her own losses, and it wasn't going away. Like it usually did when something reminded her of them all.

Luna sighed and shook her head to try and clear it. Of course, it didn't really work. "I a-apologize heh, I can't seem to speak right...Nix, I'm s-sorry I did something that reminded you of her. If it helps, I-I won't do it again. I hope I can c-cheer you up to some degree when this happens again...when you need me."

As she pulled her hands away from his, Luna considered something...It tended to work for her, though sometimes she was sometimes unwilling to help herself during the worst of them... But maybe it would help Nix? What could she distract him with...Well, besides what they were just doing. Playing that fighting game, unless that's what he wanted to do..? Might as well ask...I can't think about it...stop...

"I always thought it helped me sometimes when I'm...d-depressed...but do you think a distraction of some kind would help you out of the dump? I c-could make us some chamomile tea and bring up a comedy show on Setflix if you'd like. Something with... y-your rubbish humor, pun kind of intended." She hoped the joke lightened the mood somewhat. She was never good at cheering others up with just words when she was like this...

Luna tried her best to breathe to calm down but she was still sweating some. That she couldn't stop. Not here...please not here...NOT now...stop it...

She remembered what hyperventilation feels like. While Luna wasn't doing it then, she certainly felt it beginning to start. Her chest was barely getting to the point where it was just noticeably painful to breathe.

"Y-yeah, but it is my fault and-" breathe in, "-I just...I want to be there for you and cheer you up and I'm glad I can do that I'm sorry you had to do it by yourself all this time-" long breath out.

Luna slapped her leg to stop herself. She held her breath to get her thoughts back together for a moment and took a big breath in to finish it off. In the nose, out the mouth.

"...Sorry...I...yeah...I'll go make that tea and you can get Setflix set up if you want."

She needed to get out of there, to the kitchen, give herself something to occupy her mind. The explosions, feathers were strewn everywhere, red, cloudy dead eyes...NO. STOP. STOP IT. Luna was trying to cheer up Nix. Why was she breaking down now? Why, why, why-

Luna was definitely beginning to hyperventilate as she heard Nix go into the kitchen with her. Why was he in here why did he follow her why-

"Fire flashes explosions sister dead-"

Holy fuck where was her brain going? What was she saying?

Luna breathe, you need to breathe.

All she could say to Solaris in response was a repeated 'shutupshutupshutupshutup', and it wouldn't stop. She caught bits and pieces of what Nix said about 'its okays' and 'promise' and 'funny movie'. The hyperventilation started to get physically obvious. Luna felt that she didn't deserve this kindness from him. She felt guilty because he LITERALLY came to HER HOUSE to pretty much ask for her help in cheering him up. She felt that she couldn't...no, shouldn't, get any sort of help. It was stupid...stupid...Why did he have her hand...

Calm down, breathe, please, Nix is here, listen to him PLEASE.

Luna looked into Nix's eyes and she knew immediately she shouldn't have. The goofy look he had on his face...It made her giggle for a split second but...The tears...they wouldn't stop anymore...She felt her mouth grow into a smile but then fall into a pained frown in barely enough time to register that the smile was even there.
