Kintaru sighed. "I should have explained why I took you down there. I should have let you know what you were getting into." The memory of what had been said on the brink of the Second Gate rushed back. "I... I love you," he stammered. "I..." He broke off, gathering his thoughts. "I took you down there to show you what I was protecting you from."
Her eyes dashed upwards, "huh?" she stammered she fiddled with her slender fingers and looked back at the ground, "Your joking, how kan you even stand me! I'm stubborn solitary.......I'm damned."
He shook his head. "I don't care. I'm the kind of person that gives others a chance to prove themselves. You've been given that chance, and you've proven yourself beyond what anyone else has done." He pressed his lips to her briefly, then drew back, dropping his eyes to the ground.
Kintaru offered her his hand, pulling her to her feet. "Come on. We need to get away from here. My presence will guide any other Dead that are seeking to get out right to this spot. And to get both of us out, I had to rip the border open. If they find this spot, we'll both be dead."
He nodded. "Now that that's out of the way..." He took her hand in his, gazing into her eyes for a few moments, before turning and heading back through the forest, toward the school.
Kintaru shook his head. "Don't worry about them. I'll provide you with new... ways of combatting the Dead. A sword like mine, and... basically a combination of my bells and your pipes."
