"For two reasons. One, so you can see why I don't want you toying around with Death. Two..." He trailed off. "I'll tell you in a little bit. Suffice it to say that it concerns you very closely." He continued plodding through the river, his mouth opening, once again speaking words in the same tongue. The roaring sound nearly drowned out his voice, and he stopped on the very brink of a massive whirlpool. He stood rooted on the edge as his voice rang out, full of power. His arm wrapped tightly around Aelmyr's waist, as the whirlpool spun faster for several moments, and then gradually slowed and completely stopped.

She heard him and thought, 'I don't 'toy' with Death I'm simply close friends with it.' she roled her eyes and fell into him as he stopped suddenly.

Kintaru's eyes, by this time, were taking on a very haunted look. He had been here only once for any extended period of time, and he was going to have to do it again.

"Aelmyr, listen to me. As soon as we get down this path, start running. And run fast. Trust me, you don't want to linger in the next Precinct. Please, just run when we get down."

He took a deep breath, leaned close to her, and whispered, "Be safe for us." He made sure that the emphasis was on us, hoping she would get his meaning, as he led her down the spiral path where the whirlpool had just been.

When Kintaru felt the ground he was walking on level out, he immediately nodded to Aelmyr and started sprinting. "Come on. We have to get through here as quick as we can. Trust me." He slipped the bells back into the sheaths as he was working his speed up to full tilt running, and he kept glancing back over his shoulder. About halfway through the district, he looked back and swore. "Damn." A wall of water was growing in the distance on the river, rapidly moving towards them. He reached around, snatched Aelmyr into his arms, and ran hard. He shouted out the spell, and the path opened down the middle of the waterfall. He started down just as the wave hit the top of the waterfall and stopped dead. He sighed in relief, and continued to the bottom. Once he hit the bottom, he stepped out one step, and set her down beside him. "Now do you see why you shouldn't come here alone?"

She stood there in complete shock here eyes wide with fright she had almost out run him but he grabbed her! She though that he began to like her. She shuddered, "I don't come HERE I summon the spirits and if you don't mind I'm going back!" she said and brought out her flute.

Kintaru smiled. "But you have yet to see why I don't want you doing even that when I'm not around." He pointed to the side of the river that they were standing in.

Standing at the side of the river was a strange creature. It stood about human height, and had a human-like body, but that was where the similarities ended. It's head was remotely similar to a human's, but instead of a mouth it had a quartet of tentacles hanging from its face. "That, Aelmyr, is an Ilithid. One of the more nasty denizens of the Seventh Precinct. They always, however, come from this precinct. If one of them ever got a hold of you, you'd not last long."

She drowned out his words playing a fast and happy tune, A few spirits that died around 1830 came up and hugged her."See that's all I do I can bring the goood," she hugged one and banished them. "Or..." her smile turned wicked, The flute played a slow devilish song. The Ilithid smiled and was ready to run at her. She notced it and almost screamed. Her syth appearing in the oposite hamd she put her flute away, She armed herself for a fight.

Kintaru stepped over in front of her, stowing Ranna and drawing his sword. There was a flash of bright red flame as the blade left the sheath, and the blade was dimmed out for several moments. When it showed clearly again, there were runes seemingly swimming on the blade. "Begone, creature of Death. You do not belong this far up, and you need not trouble with her," he said, ringing Saraneth. He kept a tight grip on the sword, and was glad he did when the Ilithid charged him. Saraneth rang out once more, more insistent than before, and he growled out, "That was the last mistake you will ever make. STAND!"

The Ilithid froze, a snarl emitting from its throat. A liquid, guttural murmur sounded. You really think you can stop me? Nothing can stop me, because I was summoned by...

The Ilithid didn't make it any farther, however, as Kintaru's blade slashed through its midsection.
