She missed going to school. After nearly a year of running, of always worrying about the next meal, and the next motel she was staying at, she hasn't even had time to think about school. But, even ignoring the school part, just the incentive of free food and shelter made Starlight the perfect place. She had been worried about her eligibility, at first. Cas was the unique one here. The two of them just happened to be a package deal. Or, at least they were until she was dead. Which was probably much sooner than she preferred.
Well, at the end, they'd accepted her and that was all that mattered.
While Starlight seemed perfect, she hadn't, however, considered how twitchy Cas tended to get around magic users of any kind. And Starlight was full of them.
"Stop it." She snapped as Cas draped himself over her shoulders as she walked to the admissions office, baring his fangs and hissing at any person that walked by. While his protectiveness was endearing sometimes, doing it to every person they passed was just rude. Even if some of the people didn't quite look like...people. She definitely saw some wings a couple minutes ago. "Behave Cas."
The snake's head reared back to stare at her, looking affronted at the words. She rolled her eyes, stopping at the door of the admission office. She tapped the top of the snake's head.
"I need you not to attack anyone." She said to him quietly. "So go back to tattoo form."
Cas lowered his head, giving her a almost sulking look. 'Doesn't make a difference.' He whispered in her mind.
"It does. Go." Reluctantly, Cas slid back into the skin of her hand as a tattoo, winding up her arm to curl around her neck. She sighed. What was the point of wearing long sleeves and pants in the summer if Cas was going to flaunt himself in the only place where her skin wasn't covered?
She walked into the admissions office, avoiding eye contact with anyone inside and heading straight for the front desk. She took the papers and the map, taking a seat and starting to fill out a form.
She could feel Cas was already getting restless, twisting around the skin of her neck. He obviously didn't like her being enclosed in a room with people of the school, magic user or not.
