Ain perked up when the self proclaimed god figured out about his curse so easily, it wasn't that big of a surprise as others were able to figure it out in the past but he barely spent any time with this man. It was possible that he had good intuition, among his fellow inquisitors there were a couple like that who could tell things at a glance and pick out lies better than anyone... there wasn't many left when he had died though because of the nature of the job and the relatively high deathrate.
He nodded to the first question, shook his head to the second, and sort of just stared at him for even mentioning the possibility that he was just dumb. As he finished he was reminded of the police questioning him when he first arrived and how long it took them to understand this much, this guy would have been useful 50 years ago.
It wasn't clear what he could gain from continuing to try to communicate with Noel, but it seemed like he was a decent person to say the least and for once he didn't throw in the extra comments of, "..for a lesser race," but maybe because the thought of him being a god was in the back of his mind.
