Standing still, Marcus was unsure what to do next. seeing the Shaymin plush, he watched as it ran ahead, and onto a bed, squeaking and jumping. Following the Toy's strangely obvious direction, Marcus softly put Kadasha down on the bed in a nearby room. "There we go." He grunted. Hopefully, it was more comfortable than his arms.

The nurse that had left earlier had returned, this time with distilled water and bandages. Taking the stool, she moved in close to kadasha's bed and gingerly began to clean off the blood with a wet cloth. In the tone Adults usually use when talking to children, she spoke to Kadasha. "Is this okay, dearie? I'm just cleaning up so when the doctor comes, he can see if you need stitches."

As this was occurring, Marcus was standing at the header of the bed, sitting in the only other chair. His hand, the one used to punch the thing earlier, was beginning to feel a bit sore, and as he took off the rubber glove, Marcus grit his teeth. the rubbing felt like a sunburn, only a million times worse. The first joint of his knuckles, where it actually made contact, had light burns, while at the tips of his fingers, they had blackened slightly.

Kadasha sat at the edge of the bed, with Shay immediately jumping on her lap. She leaned down and the toy nuzzled her. Feeling protected, Kadasha sobbed quietly, pressing her face gently on the toy. When she felt someone take her hand began cleaning her wound, and talking so gently, she was ready to cry out.

Not because it hurt.

Not because she was scared.

But it reminded her of something.

Something lost long ago.

"Mama..." she muttered while looking at the nurse. She knew it wasn't her mother, but she cried anyway as if she was. Instinctively she buried her head in the toy and just cried.

While he wasn't sure what was actually said, Marcus thought he heard Kadasha say something. He frowned and looked down, this wasn't something he thought he could help with.

The Nurse seemed more in control, though she hadn't heard Kadasha, and misread the situation. "Don't worry, It'll only hurt for a moment. This will stop any nasty germs from making it worse."

At the sound of heavy footsteps, Marcus looked up to find an older man in a white doctor's coat enter the room, along with a security officer and talking to a nurse. "So the patient had sustained cuts to her-" Recognising Kadasha, he took a step back, gasping. "When did she wake?" His voice was stern and shook his target, that is, Marcus.

"Uh, when I was leaving?" He found her awake when he entered her room, so he wasn't that sure.

Shay let Kadasha cry. It was good for her, rather than let it fester inside. Kadasha didn't react to what the nurse said, or to what the doctor that just came in did. She probably didn't notice him anyway.

But Shay sure did. But it couldn't turn to face the doctor, and decided to let Marcus handle him and what explanation he could tell him. Kadasha was in no state to talk, neither was the toy. Not yet anyway? The first time Shay spoke, a kind of power flowed through its tiny body. It couldn't feel it right now, and he's tried a few times to speak again, but there was nothing.

"Hmm," The Doctor wanted to question the boy, after all, he was the person that was with the girl since she woke up. Maybe he found out her true identity, and if it was really what that thing in her arms had said. However, duty called, and he instead sat in the seat the nurse had just left and was examining Kadasha's arms. "There appear to be no severe lacerations, so she should heal normally." Looking at the damaged Toy in her lap, and noticing Marcus' burnt hand, he grunted. "I'm guessing you met one of those things from the Bonfire?"

He left the stool and sat in one of the armchairs facing Marcus. The nurse returned to her seat and began wrapping a bandage around kadasha's left hand.

"Uh, yeah. I guess you could say that." Marcus shrugged. Realizing he was the only one that could answer, he sighed and continued. "I heard a noise in her hospital room when I found her crying. I talked with her for a bit, then we heard laughing. I picked her up and ran." The Doctor nodded at this. He heard about someone running through the hospital carrying a patient. "When we stopped, we were attacked. They seemed to an ability to store energy, and this," He held up his hand. "was because I touched it for just a second. She cut herself on the glass shards from the bulbs that exploded."

"I see," The doctor nodded again, his palms together under his nose, as the nurse began on the right hand.

((stopping this here, before i write too much))

Shay heard something about creatures from the bonfire? It heard the nurses and doctors talking about it a few hours before Kadasha woke up. So there were more of those things thing? The toy could only hope that the one that got away didn't go get more of its friends. Kadasha might not get so lucky the second time.

Even though she could start feeling the pain now, her nerves recovering a little bit from the shock, she held her arms where they were, fighting off the urge to hide them from everyone. She still didn't stop crying however. There was only so much a toy could do to comfort a child...

Though the Doctor was talking about the police updates on the monster appearances since the bonfire, Marcus wasn't really listening. Instead, he was looking over at Kadasha. She was still crying, though this one seemed to be more focused on the pain she felt in her hands. The nurse had left, so there was nobody there to comfort her, save for the Shaymin in her hands.

"-Which is why its best that we keep you two here until the crisis is over." The Doctor said as Marcus looked back at him. "Yes, um, okay. Yes Sir." Since he missed the rest of the conversation, Marcus was taken by surprise and stammered the quick affirmation.

"Okay then," The doctor made his way to the door. Before he left, however, He turned back. "I'll ask the nurse to get you a blanket. My shift doesn't end for at least six more hours, so if you need me for anything, just ask the nurse for Doctor Livingstone." ((Might make him a profile later, not sure. He seems like a cool guy))

When the nurse was done, Kadasha hugged her toy tightly, and continued to cry into it. Though this time, it sounded a lot sadder. She liked the feeling of the nurse taking care of her. It... made her happy. And now that she left, Kadasha felt like she had been abandoned.

Because who would ever want her?

She wasn't needed.

She was ignored.

Nobody noticed whenever she left home.

Nobody cared for her...

Weak.

Useless.

Unwanted.

The toy could feel the distress of its owner, and it tried everything it could to make her feel better, but her dismay was too much for it to help. It wiggled in her arms and flattened itself against her so it could nuzzle her cheek.

Alone, Marcus listened to Kadasha's crying. It hurt him inside to hear her cry and began to silently tear up a bit himself. For some reason, he understood that form of crying. It was the fear of being left behind. Moving from his chair, he sat beside kadasha, and being sure to not apply pressure on her arms, he quietly hugged her.

He didn't know her past, and it didn't seem like she was going to tell him anytime soon, but it didn't matter. He was here now, and despite only having met her earlier that day, Marcus wasn't going to cast her aside. "It's okay." He whispered softly.

Kadasha tensed up when she felt the bed sunk beside her. She was scared. And when someone hugged her, she was terrified. She halted her cries to just sobbing, as if trying to hold her breath. She shook violently but went calm when she heard Marcus say it was okay.

She'd continue to cry her eyes out but she leaned against Marcus for comfort. She didn't do anything else. She just let the comforting hug linger in her mind. Melancholic memories flooded from her mind. There were so many moments, yet she couldn't remember any of them clearly.

This scared her even more. Why couldn't she remember? Was it just something she forgot about or was she just... imagining them? Did she imagine a happy life with people who cared about her? It felt that way to her. It was a dream... Wasn't it?
