Three of the creatures engaged the wolves, tearing into the ethereal forms to seemingly little effect. As the fourth meant to jump in however, it noticed Marcus running into the kitchen and leapt at him instead.

It's fangs sunk through his pants leg into his calf, not doing a terrible amount of damage but undoubtedly hurting quite a bit. The cloth seemed to absorb the electricity that was sparking off of it's body, keeping him from feeling the worst of the shock associated with the creature making contact.

As the wolves fought with the creatures, Kadasha groaned, hands clenched into weak fists. The toy, unable to help with the fighting in its current form attempted to wake the sleeping child, nudging her head repeatedly to get her to open her eyes. For now they were safe. The stranger ran into the kitchen and the wolves were holding the creatures back. Now would have been a good time for the girl and the toy to make their leave from this crazy situation before the monsters wised up and take the easy prey.

Only one thing to do. The toy bit into Kadasha's hospital gown and tried to drag her away, but as one would expect, the toy barely managed to move her, but there was some movement. It might have just been a centimeter, but any distance they gained was better than the last.

The creatures were a hassle to properly bite into as the wolves' forms continued to fluctuate unevenly, yet their claws remained sharp, swatting at the creatures. At one point the wolves saw an opportunity to literally rip one of them apart. One aimed to clamp onto the head while the other the lower body. If they could get that, then they'd try to pull against each other to rip the creature in half.

Quickly opening drawers and cupboards, he found a little matchbox. holding it in his right hand, he turned to find one of the creatures from outside jumping at him without time to react, knocking the open drawer out of its slot, and spilling on the ground around him.

With the gerbil biting into his leg, Marcus yowled in pain, and fell to the ground amongst the string, tape, and gloves, instinctively reaching for his calf, dropping the matches he had found into a puddle, as he attempted to punch the creature.

The creature who was ripped apart by the wolves let out a high pitched squealing sound, not a natural thing but similar to an electronic device overloading. It exploded, arcing electricity everywhere around it. But the path of the lightning wasn't exactly random. Instead, all of it seemed to take the path of least resistance into the two remaining creatures, causing them to double in size and glow even brighter.

While the first was harrying and swiping claws at the snouts of the wolves as they tried to bite it, the other turned and began running at the unconscious girl and the toy attempting to drag her away.

In the kitchen, the creature let loose when Marcus punched it, but skin to skin contact let the electricity flow through him. It felt like getting static shocked by a door handle, only with the force of a punch. Still, the creature was sent flying.

The high-pitched squeal made the wolves whimper, their ears a bit too sensitive to the sound. But they were back into action soon after, like a pair of robots built for only one purpose. It didn't matter that the creatures had doubled in size, the wolves lunged at them with reckless abandon. Their attention was focused on the one attacking them, not thinking of where the other might have been. Scratching and attempting bite and rend the demon, the wolves hadn't noticed the danger their master was about to be subjected to.

Seeing one of the creatures running towards them, the Shaymin toy, jumped in between it and the girl, putting on the fiercest face and snarl it could muster from its cute face. It stood its ground and if the creature were to continue running at them, it would jump towards it, attempting to crash into it.

Maybe not his best idea, but it got the thing off him. Moving onto his feet, and keeping the weight off his bad leg, Marcus groaned as he realised what had happened. The matches would essentially be useless now.

Holding the nearby benchtop to support his weight, he shook his hand frantically. Thanks to the shock, it was now numb, but hopefully, there would be no lasting damage. goodness knows what would happen if he lost feeling in one of his hands.

As he shuffled through, the mess from the drawer knocked down, he saw the gloves and had a better idea. putting them on, hopefully, they would insulate him from the electricity, and moving towards where the things had fallen, hoping to pick it up by the scruff of its neck (like that of a mother Cat to its kittens). Hopefully, its glow was enough to read by. He needed to get back out there, who knew what was happening right now?

The creature running towards the girl leapt, screeching uncontrollably as electricity arced off of its body. The two collided midair and found themselves entangled on the ground even as a the ethereal wolves pulled one of the creatures apart.

In the kitchen, the creature squirmed and squealed against being picked up. But the combination of numbness in his hand and the insulation of the glove kept Marcus from dropping it. His angry lantern in hand, he was more than able to read.

It was a toy, but unfortunately, it still felt pain. All it could do was squeak as electricity surged through its body. One of the energetic arcs stung Kadasha on the arm, but it surged throughout her body, making her twitch and tense up for a moment, jolting her awake, screaming.

The wolves fizzled like an unstable concoction. One popped like a balloon and dissipated mostly into nothingness, while smoke-like strands went through the doors and into the toy, which found new strength that it used to struggle with the beast. The other wolf turned partly into smoke and then ran off to its master, leaving the helpful stranger by himself. As the toy kept the beast from getting any closer to Kadasha, the remaining wolf would attempt to bite down on the monster if it could and toss its head from side to side in a violent manner.

The shock was only momentary, but the effects were immense. Kadasha felt numbness all over, like she had just been crying.

Keeping it at a distance and as still as he could, Marcus held the angry light source over his book. Surprisingly, it was extremely bright, and he could even make out individual dots on the typeface.

The books in his bag were ones he had read over several times and had placed tabs in case of an emergency. The book in front of him was one he never thought he would have a use for, being a Fantasy novel full of murder. But there appeared to be a first time for everything. Pulling out a Shortsword, he was thankful for the first time that the author didn't stay true to the theme, having a thick leather grip rather than just a cloth. There was blood on the end, thanks to the section it was pulled from.

At that moment, Marcus heard a scream. Turning his head towards the noise, he realized with fear that it was Kadasha. He had to go. Now.

Throwing the creature in the air, he attempted to impale it in midair.

The wolf found no purchase on the creature grappling with the toy, the lightning arcing off of it's body making biting down on it nearly impossible. For the toy's part, the pain of comtinuing to touch the creature was immense. But having no nerves or muscles to lock up, if it could work through the pain it could contimue to fight.

The short sword flashed in the light of the creature's glow. It didn't impale the creature, but it sliced through enough of it to make transparent blue ichor flow freely. The creature sputtered and screeched in pain as it attempted to get onto it's feet before it expired.
