"Cold isn't bad," he'd hold up his hand as they started to walk, a layer of ice formed over it, he'd close his hand, causing the ice to break and fall away, "cold is useful, and your hands felt fine to me." He was mostly immune to the elements he had control over, though there was exceptions.

He'd do his best to make sure the walk back was easier for her, he'd take her down an easy trail, one used decently often, so it was worn down and clear of any potential obstacles.

Solas would occasionally glance at her as they walked to make sure she was ok, he'd stay close in case she needed help. "Two years on the island huh?" he'd hum in thought a little, two years ago he was barely a teenager, running about and hunting, "you like it? The island and the school?"

Shaking her head, Alexandria smiles some. "No the cold isn't bad, not to people who are used to it, but still. A lot of people don't like being cold so..." Shrugs and wiggles her fingers slightly to show the gloves again. When he shows off his own ice, she smiles more. Someone kind of like her.

It was still kind of light out enough that she didn't need the flashlight yet, so she left it in her pocket, but she had a feeling she would be pulling it out soon enough if they didn't make it out of the forest. While he had been making this path much easier then the first one, she still stumbles slightly at times, but never enough to need help with balance or anything. She could slow her walk some to make sure that she didn't trip over anything, but she wanted to get out of the forest before it became too dark and she didn't want to keep him out here too long either. She didn't know if he had night vision or not, unlike her.

"Well only one year, this is the start of year two I guess. I go home for breaks, if its a long one, and for the summer. It gets too hot here for my liking then and I miss home." She is quiet for a few moments while she thinks before nodding some. "Yeah, the island and the school are fine. It is school and I don't think many people are excited for school in the first place, but its nice to not have to hide who you are." Well with the exception of some people and her gloves and all.

He'd nod, and hum quietly in thought. Had he been hiding before? He suppose he had been, living in a cage and only giving the humans occasional glances at him for the sake of a nearby town. "School seems interesting, never been really," at least, not that he could remember, "the dorms feel a bit strange sometimes though, I'm more used to the forest."

Solas would glance up at the sky, the light was quickly fading, it'd be dark soon, while any predators, like wolves, would likely stay away from a dragon, he doubted his new friend would want to be here in the dark. "It never really got hot where I lived, winters could be harsh though, less food to hunt," he'd eat mostly fish during the winter.

They'd come to a clearing, his red brown eyes looking left and right, his night vision compensating for the dimming light. "You ok with flying?" he'd ask giving a small smile, "I can fly us back before it gets any darker if you'd like, don't know if you have a light on you or not."

"Well, I wont ruin school for you, I'll let you figure it out if you like it or not. To each their own." She is quiet for a moment before continue. "Its not bad, its just I don't like the homework and the tests and stuff. Plus some teachers can be mean and rude, but others really nice. Just depends I guess." Alexandria can't really imagine sleeping outside in the forest for months or years on end. While she did enjoy camping, or staying in her phoenix form for a few days, maybe a weeks or two, she didn't really see how she could stay more than that, without being around other people.

"I'm sure the more you stay there the more you will get used to it. Do you have a roommate? They can help in making it feel like home I have heard." She didn't have one, kept the room cooler then most people liked. When he talks about harsh winters, Alexandria shakes her head with a slight smile. "I know all about harsh winters. Probably more then you do." Though she never did have to hunt for her own food, her parents did that since she tended to bring things back frozen solid or something.

When they get to the clearing she looks at the sky and sighs. It was darker then she thought. When he speaks about flying back or having a light on her, she takes out her flashlight. "I can walk back, its ok." Truth be told, she isn't really that comfortable around his dragon state, even seeing how nice he is as a human.

"No roommate no, not something I've thought about," in truth be questioned if he'd be a suitable roommate, having lived in the woods for so long. "Don't know who would put up with me," he'd say jokingly, with a little playful smile and a small chuckle.

He'd tilt his head curiously, "oh my, must be quite cold where your from," he'd give a small grin, think of the cold places he knew of. "I loved in Canada before here, next to a large lake," it was odd missing such a life, perhaps he did so more out of a desire to have something familiar, something he knew, but he'd adjust and adapt.

Solas would nod when she showed him the flashlight and then continue walking with her, he wasn't in any particular hurry and was enjoying talking to her. "What do you do?" he'd ask as they continued down the trail, "I mean, besides school and all that, have any hobbies?" He wasn't sure if he had any, he supposed coming to the woods could be considered one.

"You should think about it. Maybe put in an application for a roommate or something. You never know. It could work out." She tried two her first year and after they both left because they didn't enjoy the cold of the room, she just decided to have her room to herself. Why put herself through more people leaving?

Alexandria smiles some and nods. "Yeah, you could say that its cold where I'm from, though Canada is close, just not close enough to Alaska." She liked to go to the lake here, it wasn't really warm water and yet not cold either. "My lakes will kill you if you go swimming, then again, its nor really lakes, more ocean I guess."

Alexandria enjoyed walking with him too. He was easy to talk too and she liked that. when it got dark enough, she did flick the light on and shine it before her feet so she can see where she is walking. His first question threw her off a bit since she didn't know what he was originally asking, but when he offers up more to the question she has to think for a bit. "Um, honestly not really unless you count listening to music? What about you?"

"No hobbies...I don't think anyways," he'd chuckle a little and gesture to the forest around him, "unless you count this as one, don't me napping and hunting really counts as a hobby though." He couldn't really have hobbies before, it was just living day to day, hunt, eat, sleep, repeat.

He'd tilt his head, "music sounds nice though," he'd scratch his chin a little, "before the island, there was a little town not to far from where I lived they'd have a yearly festival." Solas would chuckle a little, "I'd sneak in using my human form, listen to the music, watch the dancing." He never took part in it really, given his situation it was a potentially bad idea.

The young dragon would chuckle at himself, "guess I'm a bit of a clean slate when it comes to such things," he'd stop and lift a large log out of their way, recently fallen. "I'll just have to find some things to try," so many things he could try now that he was a part of society, instead of being in self imposed exile.

"Hunting could be considered a hobby, though that's usually for fun or competition and stuff I think, not a need to survive." she shrugs some. "You might just have to ask someone else for their opinion." She continued on her walk, flicking the flashlight back and forth some so she can see everything in front of her.

"Why did you sneak in? Why not live there in the town with everyone?" It was something she would have done probably. Human interaction and all, even if she had to hide herself to be there. Better than live alone in her book. Alone is quiet and lonely and if something happened you would be on you own with no help.

She pauses in her walk when he lifts the log and blinks at him. "You should share your strength with me. I need some." She says jokingly. She didn't get that enhanced strength with her phoenix just cold and rebirth and healing. She steps through quickly so he doesn't have to hold it long. "Thanks and yes, you should try out a lot of things so you know what you like and don't like. .

"Habit I suppose," he looked around the forest, "I'm so used to being out here, it's peaceful to me." His nose would twitch a little, "I have trouble sleeping in the dorms sometimes," the bed seemed to soft at times and at times the dorms were to noisy. "I haven't even really been in the city yet."

He'd chuckle, "You're welcome, and I would if I could, it's pretty useful," his eyes would glow very lightly as the light faded and his night vision automatically turned on. "Thank you," he'd say with a small smile, "I've liked talking to you."

Solas would look up through a gap in the trees, up at the stars, "maybe we'll have classes together." He'd give her a small smile, "you seem cool...and no I don't mean that as a pun," he'd say jokingly but truthfully.

"I do agree with you. The forest is peaceful, when its light out. The darkness tends to being out the hunters." Shes had a few run ins with wildlife in other places and such and would rather not happen again. Still, she had the new student Solas by her and he had night vision and was strong so she wasn't really that worried about the hunters tonight.

"The city can be confusing at times, so if you want, I can show you around one day, or maybe a weekend. Depending on how much you want to see and where you want to stop and stuff." She didn't have a guide to take her around so she had to learn everything herself. She still found new places and new things sometimes, but for the most part, she has stuff down.

Alexandria nods her head slightly. "Yeah, super strength does seem pretty useful and yeah, maybe. What are you going to be taking?" She does roll her eyes at his pun, even if he says it wasn't. She's heard that a lot. "I use that pun sometimes too, though never on purpose."
