Pop. Crackle pop. Crackle.
Tiny sparks flickered around the pyrokinetic's jittery fingers as he tapped them on the metal doorframe, glancing around into the classroom he'd been standing in just a few minutes ago. It really was weird that he'd be back here, for two main reasons.
One - he didn't think he was in trouble! That "burnt homework" thing was an accident, he swore to Gods it was, and that's all it was, thank you very much. On second thought, it wasn't really wise to let him around homework so flammable as that, or if so, there shouldn't have been such a strict due date. Or maybe it was the procrastination that'd made him a little anxious, set the sparks goin' on his fingers. But now he was mind-rambling again.
Reason two - he'd really started to like this class, but in all honesty the teacher kind of freaked him out. Seemed like a strict type from the moment he'd gotten in there, and frankly he didn't really like that. But eh, beggars couldn't be choosers, and hey, he was learning, right? Even if his homework sometimes ended up being charcoal. Or stained with coffee. Or kind of crumpled. Or lost.
ANYWAYS. He was losing his train of thought, and fast. Nix glanced 'round the empty classroom again, squinting his eyes to make out the shapes in the relative dark of the classroom. Well, it had seemed empty... but upon closer inspection, there was actually someone in there. Of course there was. It was probably his teacher.
"Uh, 'scuse me. I'm Nix. Someone call for me?" he asked, trying (and kind of failing) to be casual.
. . .
No reply. To this, clutching his coffee with one sparking hand, he stepped into the room, cautiously but casually, and declared a little louder, "Uhhh.... Nix. I'm here for some kind of meeting or something?"
