"Perhaps, if the school or my clan has a record of them," he tilted his head, his ears picking up the sound of a cat nearby, "a simple blood test would work for most, but we won't know for sure until we try with the school or my family."

"133 Pacific Ocean Avenue," he repeated, his mind going through all the information he had about the area, his nose twitching and taking in the scents, "ah yes, this area is a bit odd, it's an older section of the city so some areas were divided up strangely as things were added."

He sniffed the air, "133 is easy to find by scent because of the little bakery it has," he flashed a small grin, "don't know if your senses are enhanced or not, but when everything else has failed you can do worse than follow your nose." The vampire's nose twitched again, "in this case, following the smell of fresh muffins."

“Yes, it’s probably best if I just talk with the school about it, or with your parents if they have the time.” Natasha conceded agreeably. No use worrying about her bloodline for now. Besides, she never even knew she had one til now. Although, she had to admit that it was exciting to able to know more about who she was now.

“So, the area has been divided up oddly…” Natasha thought as she listened intently to Leandro’s directions, feeling quite relieved that she hadn’t really got the address wrong, The area was just unusual, especially for those that didn’t know the island.

“Muffins?! A bakery?! That sounds divine.” Natasha exclaimed, loving the prospect of living near such a wonderful smelling place. “I love freshly baked bread too…” she added almost swooning at the thought.

“Oh, yes, my abilities and senses were definitely enhanced when I became a vampire. Almost too much at times.” she said as she looked over at Leandro, and noticed for the first time, that he had hardly looked at her even though he was very open and friendly. Maybe, he was just shy, she thought to herself.

"Well, I can put you contact with both, can introduce you to my parents in person if you'd like," his calm friendly smile never faded, he was raised to help other vampires, it was the purpose of his clan, "they're quite welcoming fellow vampires.....well to everyone really, but especially vampires."

He chuckled a little, "yes, it's run bye a kind Elven woman, she sings as she bakes," he'd gone there a good number of times, he didn't need food, but he enjoyed it, "we can stop there if you'd like, they have good coffee too." His nose twitched again as it continued to take in the scents of the city.

"Ah, I know what you mean," he tilted his head, "enhanced senses can take adjusting, smell or hear too much and you'll find yourself in a bit of pain." Leandro didn't have to worry about eyesight.

"But if you'll follow me, I can lead the way," he'd follow his nose, use his sonar to ensure he didn't bump into anything on the way there.

"Thank you, Leandro." Natasha said touching his arm gently, "I am very grateful for all your doing for me. I know you've said your family likes to help vampires out and all," Natasha continued softly, "it's just been a quite while, decades if I'm truthful, since I've encountered such acceptance, and well, kindness."

"Serenades, baked goods daily and fresh coffee, what else can a person ever want?" Natasha remarked laughingly. "I'm sold on the place already and I haven't even seen it." she joked.

"I'd love to try something from the bakery. I admit, I love that part of being a vampire." Nat told Leandro, "I can now eat as many yummy pastries as I want and never gain weight. I must confess that as a woman, ex-mortal, that's like a huge bonus. I think more women might be lining up to be turned if they knew they could eat as much cake as they wanted and not get fat."

"I was empathic as a human," Natasha explained as she followed Leandro as he showed her the way to the apartment, "and now it's ten times stronger than before. At first, it was sheer torture to enter a crowded room." she said knowing exactly what he meant by needing to adjust. For her, that had been the worst part.

"You won't have to worry about that here for the most part," he'd move about as if he could ser, but if she was observant she'd notice how he never looked at anything, "vampires are pretty common here, just another part of life, this island tries to be about acceptance."

He'd nod as she explained her empathy, "ah yes, emotions can be powerful things," he'd scratch his chin and briefly stop to allow an older couple to cross in front of them, "my senses have always been stronger than most, especially my hearing, something I had to train to control, to focus."

As they turned a corner they'd be faced by the proper avenue as well as the bakery, "ah here we are, I can smell the muffins already, she prepping for the nocturnal crowd." He'd stop and give her a smile, "shall we grab a snack? It's quite popular so we'll need to hurry to avoid any lines."

Natasha glanced at Leandro as they walked, she took in his profile, and watched as he spoke and carried himself. “It sounds like a utopia of sorts,” she remarked almost wistfully as he reassured her that she wouldn’t have to worry about things. She wanted to believe him so much, yet part of her was skeptical still. Everything sounded almost too perfect.

“Your hearing?” Natasha asked innocently as she looked at Leandro curiously, wondering what he meant. Maybe he had the ability to hear things at a distance, she thought as they walked together, stopping to let an elderly couple pass by them.

“Of course,” Natasha agreed happily when Leandro suggested getting something to eat now before the night crowd came out and bought up all the freshly baked deliciousness, “Let’s go in now, the apartment isn’t going anywhere, but the blueberries muffins that I just spotted on the counter over there could be if we aren’t fast enough.” she stated jokingly as they stepped into the fragrant little bakery that was filled with homemade baked goods. There were baskets of breads and buns, pies, cakes, racks of cookies and muffins, plates of brownies, scones, eclairs, cream puffs, and even a few mini strawberry shortcakes and fruit tarts with whipping cream. The place was literally pastry heaven. “So, what are you going to have?” Natasha asked Leandro, quickly adding, “My treat!”

Leandro walked with confidence and a calm about him, his abilities granted him a useful way of seeing the world, he couldn't see letters or colors, but he still saw things few do. "Unfortunately its not a utopia," he'd say with a small nod, "there's still people unwilling to accept others of certain races or groups, but that's unfortunately something you'll always see." He'd give her a smile, "not a utopia, but perhaps as close as a place on Earth can get."

He'd nod and tap one of his ears with a funny little grin, "oh yes, people rely on their eyes a lot, but I can find out a lot more with my ears," he'd tilt his head as a man passed them, a human, Leandro waited until he was out of hearing distance before speaking, "that man we passed, by his body language he seemed calm, but he wasn't, no his heartbeat was through the roof, and I could hear him playing with loose change in his pocket, nervous about something." He could be a little bit of a show off at times, he always did it out of fun though, in truth he was quite humble.

The young vampire would open the door for his new friend and follow in after her, "no, no Miss Lockwood," he'd give a smile, "wouldn't do for me to let you pay, I'm afraid this is my treat." He'd chuckle, "besides, the owner is a friend and would have my hide if she found out if I let you pay for it, as for what I'm having, oh a cinnamon apple muffin sounds nice."

Natasha could only nod thoughtfully at Leandro's wise words. Yes, there would always be people, who for whatever illogical reason, thought that they were better than others. And if it wasn't race, it was social class, or something else entirely.

"He was nervous because the little old lady that was with him was letting off highly annoyed vibes, like she was beyond exasperation and ready to explode. He was probably afraid she'd conk him on the head with a fry pan or strangle in his sleep.." Natasha said laughingly when Leandro told her about the old man. She had picked up on both people's vibes, but the little old lady was fuming mad and she basically overpowered the two's emotions causing Natasha to focus more on her than him. "He was probably gambling and lost." Natasha mused thinking about the raised heartbeat and jingling of coins in a pocket. In her experience, playing or fondling coins was usually an unconscious gesture of those that liked or wanted money.

"Are you sure?" Natasha said when Leandro told her that it was his treat and that he couldn't let her pay for his pastry. "I feel like you have done so much for me in such a short while." she confessed as she laid a hand on his arm, "Next time, it's my treat. We will go get ice cream or whatever you else you like." she said with resolve. Then as the shop assistant looked at her asking for her order, she said, "I'll have a blueberry muffin with extra butter, please."

The younger vampire would chuckle quietly and order his own muffin, he'd pay for them. "We beat the night rush," he said with a smile as they stepped away from the couter, their prizes in hand, "got the freshest muffins too." He'd take a bite out of his muffin, smiling happily at its taste, "though, I'd say they'd be worth the wait."

He'd tilt his head, his ears picking up the sounds of people coming in to buy their treats. "I found this place by accident when I moved here, was just wandering about, accidentally shadow telenported beside it," he'd say with a small chuckle before taking another bite.

The number of people in the bakery steadily increased, the noise rising with it. "Would you mind if we stepped outside?" he could handle the noise, but it was an annoyance, if she agreed, he'd open the door for her and step out with her. "I must say, tonight has been enjoyable," he'd smile, "I believe I have you to thank for that."

The girl behind the counter handed Natasha her muffin slathered in butter. Thanking her, Natasha went to stand by Leandro, there she followed his lead and took a bite of her excessively buttered blueberry muffin. It was heavenly... she hadn't had a muffin this good in years. Probably ever, if she actually thought about it.

"Definitely worth the wait." Natasha agreed as she licked butter off a finger, "This place is amazing. I can see why it's popular. Do you come here often?" she asked Leandro as she enjoyed her muffin.

When Leandro asked her if she want to go outside, Nat nodded vigorously. "Yes, let's ... it's starting to get overly crowded in here or I'll soon end up getting a headache or something worse." she said as the emotions of people started becoming more and more apparent.

"It has been a nice evening." Natasha said in complete agreement with him. "Gosh, I don't know about that, I'd say we just clicked... but thank you anyways." Natasha said, actually blushing when Leandro told her he had to thank her for the nice time they were having.
