Leandro popped out of a shadow, his nose twitching as it took in the night air, the sun had just set and so the nocturnal beings were out and about. The young man tilted his head as he picked up a scent that stood out, pulling out a blood pack, he quickly drank it before vanishing back into the darkness.

He'd follow the shadows in the direction of the scent, he smelt a vampire, so he thought he might as well pop in and say hello. Leandro often did this, he was a social person, enjoyed talking to everyone.

The young vampire would pop out and back into a few more shadows until he finally emerged out of one near the person he was sedont , slowly rising from said shadow. He couldn't truly see her, but his nose and sonar ability told him she was there. "Is that a fellow nosferatu I smell?" he asked with a friendly smile, his head tilting in her direction, "don't think we know each other, I'm Leandro Erebus." @Zora

"1333 Pacific Ocean Avenue..." Natasha muttered, looking up and down the cobble stoned street and at the building numbers again, not seeing a 1333 anywhere. There was 136 and 132, but no 133, and definitely not a 1333 like it said in the ad. Sighing in exasperation, Natasha actually stomped her foot in angry frustration.

This always happened to her, if an address was involved or following directions somewhere was involved, she almost always got lost or ended up taking forever to find the place. It did not matter if she took a map, used a GPS, or took a guide with her - something always seemed to happen. She was beginning to think that she was beyond directionally challenged, she was pretty sure now that somehow she was directionally cursed.

Turning around, deciding it was probably better just to go back to her hotel room and try tomorrow, Natasha found herself face to face with a handsome young man, no, not a man, vampire. Surprised at this, Natasha stared for a moment at him in wonder, she had not seen or met another vampire in decades.

"Your nose knows its nosferatus." Natasha replied with a laugh, amused at his indirectly obvious question about her origins. "And no, we haven't yet met, I'm not from here actually." she explained as she looked at Leandro. "I'm Natasha Lockwood, and I'm pleased to meet you Leandro."

"Oh a newcomer?" he stepped out of the shadow, never looking at her but his sonar letting him know where she was. "welcome to Manta Carlos, I'm not actually from here either, but it's a fantastic place." His friendly smile never faded, "it's good to meet you Miss Lockwood."

He'd give her a quick bow in in greeting before also offering her his hand, "I've lived here a while now....me and my family that is." Leandro had an apartment along with his family home, he tended to go back and forth a bit between them, "I hope you're finding your way around."

Leandro tilted his head, his nose twitching slightly as it picked up scents on the breeze, "this city can be a bit odd to navigate at first, but it has good public transportation that makes things easier."

“Yes,... I arrived, well, let’s see, almost a week ago tomorrow on the Empress Starlight,” she explained to Leandro, naming the boat that had brought her to the island from the Japanese port city of Yokohama.

“The island certainly is quite a brilliant place. A little confusing for the directionallly challenged like me, who always seems to be getting lost or turned around.” she admitted, and then, something occurred to her, “The streets don’t magically change direction, do they?” she asked Leandro very curiously, having read somewhere that an ancient magical city in Mexico was rumoured to have streets that could magically appear and disappear. It might also explain why she kept getting lost…

Taking Leandro’s proffered hand, Natasha smiled warmly at him, it had been quite a while that she had met someone as chivalrous as him. “You’re family is here? Wow, that’s sounds nice…” she remarked, guessing that he must either have a real old human family or he was a “real vampire”, and not like her, one who had been created. “Are they vampires too?” she inquired politely, not wanting to seem too rude or curious.

Leandro would gently shake her hand, his sightless eyes never meeting. "No, no," he said with a chuckle, "thankfully the streets don't change, that'd be maddening, be hard on local stores too."

He gave a simple nod, "vampires all, my parents and my ridiculous number of siblings," he said in a happy voice, he loved his family, all of them, "a household of vampires is quite the site, especially when a good number of us are shadow mages, always popping in and out of shadows," he gestured to the shadow he emerged from.

His head tilted a little to the side as he picked up more sounds of the city, "I could help you find your way if you'd like." The young vampire enjoyed helping others, especially fellow vampire, and he was curious about her bloodline, he couldn't tell by her scent.

When Leandro told her that the streets did not change direction, Natasha actually let out a sigh of frustration. It was her, she knew it. Her hopes that some outside force was responsible for her not finding the address were dashed. “Sorry, I was hoping I could blame not finding the address on bad luck and not my very messed up sense of direction.” she explained laughingly.

“And I’d appreciate it a lot, if you could help me out. I’m afraid at this rate, I’ll never find a place to rent.” she confessed, not liking this feeling of needing help constantly. She knew it was because it was new unknown territory, but that still didn’t make her feel less of a bimbo for not being able to read street signs and maps like everyone else.

Natasha smiled very warmly at Leandro when he told her about his large family. It was the one thing she missed, and the only thing she didn’t like about her life. All the people she had grown to love had passed on, leaving her alone, and every knew mortal person she met carried that risk of attachment and eventual death. To her a vampire family sounded lovely, that meant you always had a family to rely on and that cared about you.

“Your family sounds just lovely.” she told him, “I wish I had one like yours.” she said rather wistfully. “How many siblings do you have?” she asked now more curious about him and his family than finding a place to live.

"A place to rest?" he asked with a thoughtful hum, "where are you staying? A hotel?" His clan as a whole acted as a vampire support system of sorts, giving them blood and sanctuary, "well, where are you headed to? Are you looking for apartments?" He made a mental note to tell her about his clan as they walked.

He chuckled a little, "ten siblings, immortal parents mean you usually have a lot, so I was never alone growing." The young vampire tilted his head, he was blind so couldn't see her smile, "first time around other vampires?" he asked softly, it was sad to see those turned spend time in isolation.

"Well, here you'll see many," he gave her a kind smile, "the school even teaches classes about vampires if you're interested, I'm majoring in vampire bloodlines." That was an amazing thing about the island, it had many recourses to learn and grow, "the academy is quite incredible."

“I’m actually staying in a hotel near the pier. It’s pretty nice actually, and I could just stay there for a while if I had to.” Natasha admitted. She could afford staying there, even if it were indefinitely. Money was exactly an issue, vampires, if they were smart, could amass great wealth over time. But hotels weren’t homes, and she didn’t find them to be places you could live extended amounts of time in. or make one’s own.

“I was hoping to rent an apartment until I found a house on the island.” she told Leandro, “The hotel guy gave my some numbers of places to check out, and this last one seems a wild goose chase.”

“Ten siblings, that’s crazy!” Natasha remarked with a little laugh at the idea. Then, “No, not first time, just a very long time.” she replied grateful for his words and that he had somehow known that she was alone. “I’ve always sort of been on my own,” she added, “Even before I was turned.” she confessed feeling that she could admit this to Leandro for some reason. “My human mother had great aspirations for her daughter, and by the time I was 11, I was sent away to fulfil those dreams.” she said keeping her voice steady. It wasn’t something she really liked to remember, and so had chosen to forget until now.

“Classes on vampires? That’s amazing actually.” Natasha remarked, very surprised at this. “Vampire bloodlines? Does that mean I actually belong to some house or group of vampires? Or how does that work?” she asked Leandro, not sure somebody like her was the same as a vampire created or born from other vampires.

"Lotsa god places here," he brushed a but of hair from his face, "my apartment building is nice, I can introduce you to the owner if you'd like." He'd gotten his apartment recently, but was on good terms with the building owner.

He hummed in thought and nodded, "it's likely yes, bloodlines refers to the different kind of vampires, the school could help you figure out which bloodline you're from." Leandro tapped his chin in thought, "my family and clan would happily aid you, it's set up to support fellow vampires."

"Ah, but we should get you to your destination first," he chuckled a little, "what address are you looking for?" He didn't have his eyesight to read the signs, but he knew the area well enough through his other senses well enough.

"Could you? Oh, that would be splendid." Natasha stated, loving the idea when Leandro said he could ask the owner of his apartment building if he'd consider letting Natasha rent a unit there too. She had a definite feeling that Leandro would have a very nice apartment in a very nice building, and it'd be a place where she'd be happy to call her home.

Natasha thought about his words. She had never thought about what bloodline she was from before. It was an exciting, yet scary thought. What if she was from a line of bad evil vampires that were cursed or something worse? Or maybe she was from a very ancient and noble line, who knew... the idea really interested her. "If I know the name, or supposed name, human alias, of the vampire that turned me, does that help know which bloodline I'm from?" she asked Leandro earnestly.

"Well, on the paper it says 1333 Pacific Ocean Avenue. But I think it's an error since everything seems to be 132, 136,.. " Natasha told Leandro as she glanced down at the paper in her hand, "I thought it might be 133, but there are only even numbers on both sides of the street and it's weird, and, well, ... I'm confused..." she admitted with trying sigh.
