It wasn't too horrible a day, all things considered. At least, when it came to the weather. It was a fair mixture of blue and cloudy, not threatening to start snowing or raining anytime soon. There was a larger amount of people than Amaya was used to, but considering she mostly only went back and forth between the school and Seven Points most days, that wasn't exactly saying much.

It was Yuki's idea for her to come here today. It was also Yuki's idea for her to dress up. Amaya was originally planning on wearing ripped-style jeans a meme t-shirt on it. Yuki threatened her with a punishment if she didn't change into black pants, a blue turtleneck, and a black hooded coat with gloves and a hat that fit in her side pockets in case it got too cold. She of course had on boots, and her pentacle scar had black glittery face paint over it today. Amaya was supposed to meet Malek here this morning, so she crossed her arms and waited near the ticket booth. It was almost time for them to meet up.

Malek started to sprint down the road. He was rather excited. He wasn't going to tell Amaya but he was rather excited. He was supposed to meet Amaya for a trip to the zoo. He really did like spending time with her, he liked her a lot...sadly Yuki teased him for it. How was he supposed to not feel close to his one and only friend. He stopped at one of the ticket booths at the entrance of the zoo. He walked to Amaya and smiled "Hey October. You look......cute." He stretched and looked at her. "I'm ready. How about you." Malek actually loved the zoo. Especially the reptile house. Something about watching the animals brought him joy.

October waited for Malek to approach; when he complimented her, she looked away. Yuki picked out my outfit. I'm not cute, I'm supposed to be scary. Instead, she nodded when he asked her if she was ready. Yuki had given her some spare change for lunch and possible souvenirs later, maybe some arcade games if they had them. Amaya held up a map for Malek, opening it, as if to ask where they should go first. It was her first time at a zoo, after all.

(Might be on and off the next couple days. I've been really demotivated lately, really wiped out and exhausted. Not sure why.)

Malek looked all across the map. His finger made its way through a path he thought would be the best for both of them. The reptile house was at the back so they would see plenty other animals on their way. Satisfied, he walked to the ticket booth and looked at the person manning it. "Two please." The man at the booth nodded and handed Malek two tickets. He glanced at Amaya and then back to Malek. "Have fun on your date." Malek's face went red as he took the tickets "W-W-We're not o-on a d-d-d-d-date. We're just c-close friends!" The man grinned "Sure you are. Have a good trip non the less."

When the ticket person mentioned their "date", Amaya rolled her eyes and looped her hand into Malek's, then made a motion to drag him off. Her first destination was the place where they had the zebras. There were probably other animals there, or in the general area, too, like giraffes, gazelles, elephants, or water buffalo, but it was the zebras Amaya wanted to see. The whole black-and-white stripes thing intrigued her. Besides, weren't they essentially horses?

(edit: sorry for late reply; I don't have much of an excuse. I've just been lazy/wiped out IRL)

Malek turned to Amaya. She was motioning for him to come on so he did. He walked with her silently as his mind was already buzzing with things. Some about the past, some about the zoo, and some about what to do next. He had no idea what to say or do. He had been busy he had never been able to spend as much time with his friends as he wanted to, specifically Amaya. "You know I actually love the zoo. It amazes me how people are able to catch these animals, let alone make them fairly safe." Zoos had animals from all across the world. Since this was a Manta Carlos zoo Malek expected there was going to be magical creatures as well as normal.

(OOC: that'd probably be in a different area though 0.0 And I have a bestiary I can use to really flesh that out when it comes time, XD )

Amaya nodded a little absent-mindedly when Malek told her about why he loved the zoo. Since she'd never been, she couldn't really say the same. It wasn't too long before they reached the area where the zebras would be, though; however, at the entrance to the area in question they were greeted by a person in a giraffe costume dressed in a ballerina outfit over the costume doing twirls and occasionally releasing pink and white heart-shaped confetti and glitter from its hooves, probably through some hidden latch.

(OOC: yup, I'm gonna be doing random stuff like that all post, probably. You're welcome to do some as well, obviously 0.0 It's supposed to be Valentine's at the zoo, after all)

Amaya just barely managed to get in its range and as such the tips of her hair got some glitter in them, as did her open cheek. She frowned; her left arm curled up into a ball and twitched, but she restrained herself. Today was supposed to be a fun day, after all, it would be better not to let things like that get to her.

Then they entered the "African Animals" area and to their left a huge trumpet blew. Amaya turned and her mouth dropped open, her eyes wide, as she caught sight of an elephant for the first time. HOLY SHI- THAT THING'S HUGE!

Nearby, near a gate leading into the elephant area, was a handler offering rides on the elephants for couples on the heart-shaped rugs on their backs.

Malek chuckled a little when he saw Amaya angry with the glitter. It was cute how she could get so upset. He continued to walk with her into one of the areas. He had a clue what he was going to see because of the "African Animals" sign right above it. He couldn't help but laugh when she saw the elephants. "Yes elephants are pretty big aren't they? Not as big as some creatures I've seen but their certainly up there." He saw the man offering the couple rides and he couldn't help himself. "Hey October....do you want to ride one? He gestures towards the handler offering the rides to couples and smiled. "It will be fun I promise."

(OOC: 0.0 Remember, she can't speak aloud, so the italics are thoughts, though I'm guessing you're reading her facial expressions, too 0.0 )

Amaya looked at Malek and nodded, pulling him by the hand over to the elephant enclosement. There was only a small line, and they were at the elephant loading platform soon enough. The one they were on was apparently called Trunks and his blanket was purple with pink and white swirling hearts for its pattern. The elephant handler had to help them up, where there was actually a small saddle under the blanket with a belt that latched in from underneath, sort of like a harness, and after strapping in Malek and Amaya he let the elephant go off.

(OOC: I'll let you do the next portion; sorry 0.0 )

Malek had a wide smile as they rode the Elephant. "This is amazing!" With Amaya behind him he turned his head to the side to look at her. "Are you okay back there October?" Malek chuckled softly and turned back to face the elephant. He rubbed the back of it slowly and softly just to feel it's skin. It felt really tough and dry, it reminded him just a little to much of when he rode on his fathers back.
