Amaya listened and stood there in thought for a moment, then looked at Malek suddenly with a mischievous grin. Then, she took his hand and led him down the mazelike corridors for a little bit, looking for one with a dead end. When she found one, Amaya led him to the end of it, then turned around with a smile..... before pushing him so that he would fall down.

As Malek fell down to lay on the ground, Amaya moved quickly and sat on him, about the waist area. Then, her hands on his stomach, she smiled, leaned forward, and started kissing him passionately, sticking her tongue in his mouth again.

A couple hours had passed there with Amaya and Malek laying on the floor kissing each other. Amaya was a little sweaty from the heat coming off Malek, and her clothes and hair were a little rumpled as well, but then, considering they're been rolling on the floor of the aquarium with tongues in each others mouths for the last couple hours while the light shimmered in and out of various rainbowed hues due to the aquarium lights reflecting off the scales of the fish, it was to be expected.

Malek stopped for a moment. He couldn't believe this was happening. But still...Malek got up when he had the chance. Looking down at Amaya. "October......don't get me wrong I didn't mind what we were doing at all but still. People might start staring and Wyrm might hear about....this. I don't think either of us want that."


Malek fixed his hair, it was almost a complete mess. He extended his hand towards Amaya in an attempt to pick her up. I can't believe I just did that........wow.......just..........wow. Malek's head was swimming with thoughts with what had just happened. It was strange....but kinda nice. The heat radiating from Malek's body soon started to fade, until you could barely feel it.

Amaya looked at Malek as she stood up and started straightening out her clothes, giving him a mischievous grin that suggested she knew exactly what people might think and that she might be prone to trying to get them to talk. She pulled out her notepad and quickly scrawled, Wyrm isn't likely to do anything. It's his religion(?) so he can't. It's one reason why he has Ishiki around.

She handed him that note, and then scrawled out, Reptile house next?

(sorry for the delay; I'll let you describe the way to the reptile house and part of it if you want to, though I may add a bit after. 0.0 I finally got a chance to respond today because I had to call in sick.)

Malek was silent. Didn't that scare her more? I mean the Preistess attempted to get herself killed just to keep him away from Amaya. He started to think he might hate the priestess just a little more than October. He gave a quick nod before taking her hand and rushing off. The building was rather large compared to most of the other exhibits. It was roughly curved giving off the idea that it was a cave before it was a reptile house. As they walked in the place was filled to the brim with glass containers holding all sorts of reptiles. Malek didn't stop though he merely glanced at the creatures. There was one place that he was really interested in. At the dead center of the reptile house was a large glass dome. Malek let go of Amaya's hand to get as close as possible to the dome. He looked down into it. The dome covered up a large pit where four large winged lizards laid. If one was inexperienced with the dragon species one would suggest these creatures were infact dragons. In reality these were close cousins of dragons, wyverns. Malek watched as the three smaller wyverns curled up to the largest one, he came to the conclusion this was either the mother or father. It was sweet to see how much the family loved each other. Love. It was a strange word to say, it was almost comforting. "Hey October." Malek turned his head and looked at her through his peripheral vision. "I'm going to ask you a question and I want you to answer truthfully okay?......Do......Do you love me? Because I think I'm madly in love with you." Malek wasn't joking. He was dead serious and prayed to Mal she loved him as well. Most people would say that a teenager wouldn't know what love is but Malek did, after all he had seen it for so many years it was hard not to figure it out eventually. He loved Amaya, with all of his heart and he would do anything for her. Amaya was the only thing Malek had anymore and he sure as hell wouldn't screw this up.

(yaaay I have a day off to catch up on chores and other things! Like posting!)

Amaya had been watching the wyverns in the pit with fascination. They reminded her of something, but what, she couldn't entirely recall. Then, of course, Malek triggered "it". He said the "l" word. She crossed her arms and frowned at him, an"ice queen" look in her eyes, glaring at him for a few seconds, then pulled a sealed envelope out of her backpack and tossed it at Malek before turning and storming off to the other side of the enclosure to keep catching the large lizards.

The letter itself was in Wyrm's handwriting and read,

Ahhh, dear. Young Malek, if you're reading this, you might have messed up. You mentioned what Amaya refers to as the "L" word, and posed it to the question whether or not it still remains an affection of hers. I thought this might happen, so I have prepared a better response than she is likely to give you.

One must keep in mind that Dark Faeries are odd species. Even full grown, they will always have the mannerisms and appearance of children. In many cases, they can care more easily for people, but they can also hold grudges, or forgive more easily than others. But not always.

I believe I once told you that Ishiki was Amaya's wife at one point. In fairness, I do not fully recall. If not, oops. Beans are spilled. Ah, well. Regardless, that is one example of "love" that Amaya has experienced. Though she might not have memories of it, the feelings associated with that time will remain. There have been other instances, as well, of course.

Are you aware there is an herbal concoction that could soothe Amaya's throat and allow her to speak normally? She refuses to take it. It would mean giving her voice back to the world, or, perhaps, explaining where her scars and tattoos came from. It is so much easier for a Mute to avoid answering questions about a past they do not and do not care to remember and so willingly repress than it is a disgruntled, angry child, for I'm certain more would take notice if they could hear her thoughts. As a mute, people are more apt to think, often subconsciously, that she is an unfortunate child, an unlucky one, or perhaps one lacking in intelligence. In her mind, October thinks it better to be thought of as a fool than to gain infamy with any as a result of her experiences. As they saying goes, if three people know a secret, one must kill two in order to ensure it remains a secret. I'm sure you can draw the conclusions on Miss October's thoughts of her past now.

All this being said, does Miss October care for Young Malek? Certainly, she has spent more time with, and has opened up to this persona more than any save her own father figure. Certainly she seems to enjoy herself more in his company. But, October has the mentality of a child, those whose minds can change in moments, and whether her affection will remain might yet to be seen. She has been married once. Although, evidence would suggest, if this had ended well, would she harbor such resentment against her ex? October was found in a coffin of ice, but Ishiki commands fire. Such magical thoughts. October might indeed care for you, but not yet be willing to spread her wings and fly with you, in a rather metaphorical sense. If something fragile or dangerous is opened, one must take care to handle it carefully so as to not break it, or cause it to snap suddenly closed once more.

The interesting thing about out of season pumpkin bars is that they are such a rare treat that a certain dark-haired young lady might forgive just about any trespass if presented with them.

Malek read through the letter carefully. To him it wasn't a surprise. Amaya was a oddity, even to him. No matter how close he got to her he could never fully understand her. Perhaps that was one of the reasons Malek loved her. When he finished reading the letter he chuckled. He was told the Amaya loved pumpkin bars many times so he came prepared. From his pocket he pulled out a wrapped item, which unwrapped would reveal itself to be a pumpkin bar. He looked at the wyrverns "Mal ne kul. Yu tal." Mal smiles on you, dear hatchlings. The mother wyrvern looked up at Malek, almost in response. Malek smiled and rushed off in the direction Amaya went, pumpkin had in hand. Octooooober? October where are you?"

October had wandered off from the wyverns' cage to a room further down the hall, where there was a stature of a long, serpentine dragon with a reptilian version of a fox's head and four long clawed arms reminiscent of those one might find on an iguana. The head was placed facing the door of a circular room, and the exit was made by going into its open snout of a mouth (which was seven feet tall) and walking around the room in circles as you slowly scaled upward and finally exited near the tail, which had a scorpion's barb at the end of it; visitors exited through a door into the second story that was not visible from the main room. The entire body was probably between three and five hundred feet long and was almost entirely white, with a glossy, almost disco ball-like reflection off some of its "scales".

October was standing in front of a plaque near the creature's mouth, which read

Japanese Snow Dragon (sometimes called called "Ice Wyrm")

A creature said to possess remarkable intelligence, yet one that cannot lie by its very nature. Elusive, secretive, manipulative, and above all else dangerous when riled up. Like many species of snakes, dragons, of other serpentlike reptiles, the eldest Snow Dragons are often referred to as "Wyrms". As Japanese Snow Dragons can be particularly long-lived, some people refer to them simply as "Ice Wyrms" instead, though should one ever meet an actual Japanese Snow Dragon, this is particularly inadvisable, as many of them consider the term "Wyrm" to be an insult.

It is firmly believed that a Japanese Snow Dragon would be far too dangerous and difficult a creature to have on display within our zoo, not to mention both morally and ethically wrong, as not only do they possess human-like intelligence, but some may assume human form as well.

October heard Malek coming, and she had prepared to meet him with arms crossed and a frosty glare. However, as soon as she saw the pumpkin bar, her odd green-and-purple eyes went wide and she rushed over and just about mugged Malek for the snack before she started to nibble on it with bright, happy eyes and a smile on her face.​

Malek smiled, he went to pat her head but stopped, remembering her antennae. "Hey October. I'm sorry I asked about the 'L word'. I didn't know it was a sensitive topic to you. I think it's just natural for someone to feel that way about someme. But it's fine. I also wanted to say one thing about the past. It's the past. I was labeled a demon and hunted for centuries, look at me now. Sure I still care about it and am tied to it, but I've made sure it doesn't consume me. I don't want to pressure anything on you, just wanted to make sure you knew that. What I did say to you is true though. I do love you. You don't need to say anything about your feeling towards me at all. I expressed my feelings towards you and I'm just happy with that." Malek turned to what the animal being held was and frowned. "Snow dragon...........that's......" Malek shook his head. "May you be free one day to traverse your homeland once more, and may Mal bless your life, to let you transcend with the ancients once your time has come." Malek sighed and smiled at the snow dragon.

Amaya, nomming happily on her pumpkin bar, used one free hand to pull out her notebook and set it on the floor so she could write while crouched down. She wrote two messages for now. The first one read,

Priestess could take a page out of Malek's notebook about not letting the past drag her down into the darkness. Yuki

She had started to write something else, but then suddenly and rapidly scratched out the rest of it, including even making the word "Yuki" almost unrecognizable. After ripping that one out and handing it to Malek, she continued with

Not real Snow Dragon, silly. Artist rendering and much larger than scale. Real snow dragon can be much scarier. Definitely much more dangerous. Wyrm would know best. He

Amaya hastily scribbled out the rest of what she'd been writing again before handing Malek the note.

Malek looked at the first note and smiled "Yea, I think she would rather die than listen to anything I say." Malek then saw the second note and laughed "Really? Well they had me fooled, they did do a great job with detail on the snow dragon. Don't know if it's good or bad that it can fool someone like me. Malek chuckled. Then he remembered something. "Wait you mentioned my notebook...which would mean......I knew you read it." Malek shuffled in place "So you know about........yea, like I said it's the past. We may have ties and unfinished business but we don't let them consume us." Malek smiled. "Now is there anything you want to do now October? We could go back to your place, I don't know, maybe have some fun doing something.....or we could stay here and look at more of the reptiles. I was only really here for the wyrverns anyway."
