"It gets worse from here. Do try to keep calm," Adelaida said as softly as possible to try and not break focus. "Next up is the seal-forming. You'll have to wait until each of the essences are enveloped completely by the seal, which should take ten to fifteen minutes depending on how focused and willful you are."

There were ways to ease the pain, but in the end they risked screwing up the procedure, so Adelaida paced around in the circle with her incense burner to help the process along. It would get quite a distinct scent on the girl, but the effects were worth their weight in gold.

Slowly, the tiniest hint of a purple film would begin to form around the essences. This was the expected next step, but Adelaida could sense something helping the process along. Perhaps it wouldn't take as long as she planned.

"Oh don't give me that, it's always going to hurt," Adelaida said, noticing that eyes were on her. This girl was lucky to be so protected and cherished by such powerful entities, and Adelaida thought of how uncaring and destructive what she held within was.

The normal power struggle was also helped along by the presence of these cooperative entities. In Michi's - and her own - cases there was no such friendly assistance, and Adelaida had to do her own sealing while on the brink of death and covered in burns.

"You'll probably never know how good you have it," she muttered with a grin as she continued her vigil.

Everything was proceeding so smoothly that Adelaida instinctively began waiting for the other shoe to drop. There was bound to be something going wrong, but... she'd prepared for most eventualities anyway, so there was little cause for concern.

"Alright, they're going back in. This bit will hurt like hell, but only for a few moments," Adelaida said, continuing her little patrol.

Things went... well. A little too well, but it was over now and Adelaida found herself a sponsor for her glorious return to spellmaking. "Wasn't that bad, was it? You're lucky you've got so much support. When I had to do this, I was basically more than half-dead and barely got by off the skin of my teeth."

Now that the spell was done, the incense was no longer needed. Adelaida put out the stick and turned on the exhaust she'd installed in the garage to get rid of the fumes. "Take a few seconds, try and see how much has changed."

Adelaida briefly disappeared into the house and came back with a tray of biscuits and some instant mix juice for her guest. "Without those guys, it would be a lot more painful, a lot more difficult."

She sat down on a chair and ate biscuits. "The next part, if you still want to go through with it, will take me around two weeks to set up. If you want to merge these entities into one of your own, that's quite a bit more complex. And of course, it'll hurt. And it'll be a lot more violent resistance-wise because you're essentially killing both these guys you want to merge so that you can get a new one."
