"My price? I'll just ask you to do me a favor and help me power a personal experimental spell..." Adelaida said, trailing off. She considered her schedule for the recovery of her powers, and smiled at the prospect of moving it up to within the next few months.

She looked at the snake and considered its words. "Sounds like the best bet is a contract, especially while they're not as strong as they could be and less willing to contract."

Adelaida took a sip from her float and let it go down to half. "Adelaida. I've worked with magic for nearly twenty years now. If you're wanting something, and you're buying... I'm your gal."

"A Contract is an approach similar to me and my siblings. You might not believe it, but we tried corrupting Bastet into becoming our vessel, she was just so determined and courageous that we took a liking to her. And here we are, treating her as family.", Orosan explained, his tone surprisingly gentle and cheerful.

"Power... A personal experiment?", both Bastet and Orosan asked in unison, exchanging a brief look, "I will take the deal still, Adelaida! You said nearly twenty years? But you still look just a tiny bit older than me... How come?"

"I've lost my soul. And I've figured out how to make myself a new one," Adelaida said, a menacing grin on her face. "I'm still perfectly capable of making the appropriate spells and circles, I just can't activate them myself anymore. That's where you come in."

The last of the float disappeared as Adelaida leaned back in her chair. "I've done magic since I was old enough to read and draw, and I've only gotten better at it since. I've only ever significantly messed up once, and that's how I have the Living Flame inside of me instead of a soul. Creating an artificial one's not that hard, it's making it safely stay beside the flame that's tricky... but I've had a breakthrough not too long ago."

She pushed the now-empty cup of float aside. "But your deal comes first. If you want, we can get it done today... my house isn't that far from here and everything we'll need's there."

"Creating an artificial soul...?"
"Needing Bastet to fill in for the completion of a Spell..."
"It's not really far off, I would say..."
"I'll talk about Ororoku following you through with this."
"Please, do, but only when I'm tasked with completing the spell."

"So you have had experience for THAT long? That's really impressive.", Bastet was genuinely surprised at that feat. Sure, she herself joined the Yakuza early on only to learn that it was actually a front for more mystical stuff going in the background, but still Adelaida's expertise easily tops it.

"I'm not 100% certain it can be resolved in one day... After all, we all tried talking it out with Tsukuyomi and Amaterasu, but it's like talking to a wall.", Orosan hissed a sigh, and then Bastet added "We can still try. There's no knowing what could possibly happen."

"Oh, of course, bending them to your will won't take a day. It might take months, even years. But what I can do for you is put them in partial stasis. They'll be there, but unable to do anything while you learn to actually control them. You get to decide when to let them out. It's basically just time out for safety."

The grin faded as she considered the other possible options for this woman. There were other options, just much less savory ones. "I'm going to assume you don't want an enslavement spell, but there are other options to get them in line... it all depends on how upright you are. I'm going to guess you want them to work with you of their own volition."

Adelaida let herself fall into silence, allowing the girl a chance to consider her options. Preferably, she would choose the first option, but should she be the kind of person to go for the less "moral" options...

"Oh, partial sealing. Partial sealing is fine, they do need a timeout to learn to not try to take over me nor expel Orochi.", Bastet commented with Orosan giving a nod in agreement, "Enslavement would be going overboard. Not to tell that if the actual Gods ever crossed my path they would just tear it off me without a thought... Not complaining, TBH... But preferably, now that I think... I wish there were a way to merge those powers into one and make it mine, no longer associated with their deity..."

Orosan whipped his head to face Bastet: "Bastet... That... That is actually a good idea. Creating your own Essence would basically assure future ones that you have enough power to keep us all in check."

Merging... now that was a bit more complicated of an issue, but well within capabilities. "I can set up a merger, but... it'll take a few days to get everything set up. Partial seal is easy enough because I already have what's needed to do that set up."

Adelaida's eyes glinted for a moment. The sorceress in her was excited at the opportunity to work with things far beyond her pay grade once more, and she was confident it could be pulled off.

"That's good enough. We first give them a partial seal to keep in them at bay, then while you prepare things for the merger I will be training my body. Because, in case anything goes awry, I'll need to be physically and mentally prepared... And I think I know just the right person to train me...", Bastet has been thinking of a certain trainer she saw one day.

"We can get the seal done within the next hour if you want because I've already prepped my workshop for it. Didn't think I'd have to use it again, but not getting rid of the spells seems to have worked in my favor..."

"I do agree. Let's get going then. As for you, Orosan, please go meet up with the other and tell them about the plan. And tell them to keep holding the fort.", Bastet briefly addressed the earth serpent, who gave a brief "Understood, wish you luck.", sinking between the blades of grass and disappearing. Gacha seemed to have disappeared too, but its eyes could be seen inside Bastet's shadow.
