As usual, the police department was busy with many incidents occuring throughout do to misunderstanding of culture, race disbutes and - of course criminal investigations. Inside was a buzz with conversations, some from police officer to police officer, but others were the words of panic and desperation that he was so used to hearing from criminals. The desks inside were littered with paper work as the constant stream of new arrivals always brought more trouble, but it was the job of those here to make sure that the peace is kept and criminal elements are reduced if not completely removed from the city limits.

An older gentleman in his fifties entered through the front of the police department, his greying beard and mature features made it obvious to those that knew of him that the man known as Nick Miller was back from his leave of absence. He wore a finely tailored black suit and tie, as he had always worn as his casual clothes when he acted as an police detective. Many police officers rushed to greet him and he smiled kindly at them, and offered to have drinks with them later, but that was not his purpose on this day.

Nick Miller was actually not a good man, but had been a criminal element himself for the past seven years in manta Carlos Island; no one knew of this fact except his co-conspirator Daph and definitely not his less reputable company. He was one of the leaders of a group known as the Black Wings for which he was known only as Basil when he did business as them, but that was perhaps a story for another day.

"I'm glad to be back, my friends, it is our job to keep the people safe," his words came out but he didn't mean a word of it, it was such a minor lie that it didn't even matter to him though. "Has anyone seen Angelo today, I need to have a word with him--" before he got an answer he saw a office by the way that had a nameplate on it that said, ANGELO GENOVESE, Police Sergeant. "--that is the one."

He first knocked but upon closer inspection it appeared that Angelo was not at his office yet that day, so he opened the door and walked in, though people saw him do it they soon forgot and went about their business. Once inside he looked at Angelo's desk that appeared to not see much use, if it had he might have looked at what was on it. Pulling out his seat, Nick relaxed behind Angelo's desk and put his feet up on it. AND waited.

Angelo, as it turned out, was out for lunch. Specifically, he was out for lunch with his younger self. It wasn't uncommon for him to do so. Jude had his friends, but he didn't really have any adult figures in his life, so Angelo did his best to make himself available if he wanted to talk.

Most of the time he didn't. Most of the time it was just small talk.

That day had been one of those days. Generic small talk without much conversation otherwise.

His mood was pretty average by the time he got back, heading straight to his office and getting ready to go back to work. Only, moments after he'd opened the door to his office, his brain caught up to the fact that A) his office was not empty, and B) the occupant was literally sitting in his chair.

Sitting in his chair with his feet up.

Angelo's brain effectively screeched to a halt, trying to process what he was seeing. It took him a few seconds to process and recover himself, although the look of I'm sorry, what? was pretty firmly on his face as he shut the door beside him.

"Detective Miller," Angelo said. "You wanted to talk to me?"

Apparently. Why else would he be in Angelo's office?

Nick noticed as soon as Angelo entered and peered beyond his feet on the desk, he gave a smile and spun to a normal sitting position. Hopping up to stand and walked over to Angelo who was even taller than he was, and looked up at his handsome exterior. "Good day, Sergeant Angelo," his note on sergeant because Angelo called him detective. "You are looking as youthful and handsome as I always remembered you being, I on the other hand am getting quite old--" He tapped his hands over Angelo's abs to see if the stories of his physical body were true. "--your quite amazing, but that isn't why I am here."

He stepped aside to allow Angelo access to his office and stood carefree by the entrance.

"I have some questions about a recent incident..." his voice calm, he pulls up his glasses to get a better look at Angelo. "Do you mind helping me out?"

He was casual. And normally, Angelo probably would have been fine with that. The good day, and then the kind of weird conversation about how, uh, handsome he was. And youthful, apparently.

And then he just patted his hands along Angelo's abs.

What. Angelo actually just kind of stood there for several long seconds as Nick stepped away, trying to process what had just happened.

What was it with Nicks.

"Sorry, hold on," Angelo said as the gears in his brain finally caught. "What? You just... you come into my office while I'm out, you kick your feet up, and then you walk over and feel up my abs?"

Nick rubbed his hand across his beard and kept a light smile on his face. It was true he didn't know Angelo that well but he had assumed that the man was above trivial matters, but he just found it that he wasn't and noted it as a possible weakness subconsciously.

'What I did was done, just let it go,' he thought to himself as he just wanted to get to business but everything was in due course.

"Oh Angelo, I just wanted to know how it felt to be you for a little while," he said lying completely with a smiling face. "You can't really blame me, can you, have you looked in a mirror lately?"

In an attempt to switch back to the main topic he fixed his already fixed glasses, "Now can we talk for a bit?" he then teased slightly. "I promise I won't go touching you again..." he paused. "...unless you want me to that is."

As fast as Angelo's brain had caught, it slipped the gears again. Even with Nick's power letting him buy I just wanted to know how it felt to be you without a second thought, the rest of it wasn't working out. Yes, he kind of could blame him. And Angelo was mostly willing to let bygones be bygones and get on with work... until the last bit.

"Nope," Angelo said very firmly. He stepped back, pulled open the door, and then gestured for Nick to get out. "Not happening. There is a camera literally right there," he made a quick gesture to the corner of his office. "And you're just... coming in here and doing this? Nope. Out you go."

Nick paused for a second as his smiled wavered a little, he really didn't have any idea why Angelo was so mad. His eyes momentarily moved to the camera, it was good thing he didn't do anything illegal except coming in uninvited. Couldn't the police sergeant take a joke before getting to business, ah, how annoying that he had to work harder to get information. "Are you seriously kicking me out of your office, Sergeant?" he said tilting his head as he stepped a bit closer to Angelo. "I need information for a case I'm on, and I will have to insist that you speak to me about it." his strained blue eyes looking up to meet Angelo's sightline. "Is that a problem?"

He really didn't like dealing with people like Angelo, he never knew what tone or joke to use with them to successfully manipulate them. Did he unknowingly trip over an emotional landmine.

Angelo wasn't quite angry. Or at least he didn't show it. He was... well, maybe a bit too confused to be properly angry? Angelo kept right on glancing up at teh camera, half expecting someone to burst in and announce he was on Punked.

Was Punked still a thing?

"Yes, I am, and yes, you're still being kicked out. What you did is beyond unprofessional. Like, so far beyond the pale I'm actually confused by the fact that we are here, having this conversation. That this is a real conversation I am having with a real person."

Angelo gestured to the door again.

Nick didn't get why people were so sensitive about the smallest things, things like touching or coming on to him, even if it was just a joke to break the ice. Usually he got by just fine with his deceiver powers, but he perhaps pushed a bit too hard with the tease. "Yes, you are kicking a real person out of your office, " he started walking past Angelo as he talked. "A real person that has a job to do, and you are getting in the way of that by not co-operating with me this day." he stepped out the door and stopped just outside, raising his voice a bit so that the other officers in the area would look over and could hear what he was saying to him. "I'm disappointed in you. You won't even hear what I have to ask you about, aren't you being even more unprofessional, Sergeant?"

The last line was more theatrics to get some rumors going around the police department about Angelo, but he hoped it might be enough to get Angelo talking as a police officer again; either was fine by him.

Sometimes--and if he was being honest with himself, that was a lot of the time--Angelo wished he didn't have to be the better person. He really kind of wished he could have just raised his voice and said something like you snuck into my office and came onto me.

Angelo opted for something slightly shorter.

"Disappointed? It's probably a good thing you're not my father, then."

He wasn't going to engage him any further. Nope. Instead, he simply shut the door on Nick, letting him leave to go off on his own.

He was going to wait for him to leave, and then he was going to deal with it.
