Scarlet saw what he wanted to do and with a slight grin, moved a piece that wouldn't help him get a king, though he could do a single-jump over it.

Ivan frowned; Scarlet was too smart. He took the piece, thinking of how he could use the new position to his advantage. The sun was descending beneath the horizon.

Scarlet, knowing there was no way she could win, just moved a piece, which would allow him to jump two or three of her pieces, depending on which one he moved.

Ivan smiled, taking two of Scarlet's pieces. He wanted to show mercy by not going all-out. He shuddered, remembering the time his father beat him at checkers while blindfolded.

Ivan blinked. "I'm out of ideas." He said flatly. Their plane would leave tommorow, and he was still a cat. The full weight of his burden crashed down on him but he masked his worry.

Ivan scratched behing one ear with his left forepaw. The sun had sunk behind the veil of the horizon by now. Ivan swiped at a fly before releasing a large yawn. "Monopoly?" Ivan joked; Monopoly took a long time to play. "Twister?" He asked, chuckling.
