Shaking her head, Scarlet wondered why she had even lied. This was worse than she had wanted. [color=33ff99]"He loves me. He wouldn't kill me. And I lied because you plan on 'slayng' the man I happen to love."[/color]
Thoughts rushed through Mimic's head, disorienting him. "But... He's a horrible person!" Mimic argued, tears welling up in his eyes. "He disturbed my friend the dragon!"
Scarlet shook her head again. [color=33ff99]"No. He's not. He only went to the dragon to touch him so he could also turn into one. He wanted to be able to protect me."[/color] She said with pride and warmth.
The tears vanished. Mimic stood on top of the table, with an angry expression. "He just wanted to touch one?! He would dare to disturb my dearest friend for power?! And it was for you?! So YOU'RE the source of this!" He lunged furiously at her, but instead fell at her feet. "I'm so sorry. I suppose I misjudged him."
Scarlet looked at him oddly and backed away. [color=33ff99]"What is wrong with you? One minute you're angry and diving toward me, next you're down at my feet and saying you misjudged him."[/color]
Mimic scurried away, hiding behind the TV. He poke his head out. "I'm... Unstable." He said shyly. His eyes blazed and he stepped toward Scarlet aggressively. "Is there something wrong with that?!" He demanded.
Mimic grinned. Holding up his thumb. "You are correct, madam! Tell her what she's won! A lifetime supply of oxygen! Offer not available underwater, in space, or while choking. Some restrictions apply." He seemed cheerful now, but he had a wild look in his dull gray eyes.
Scarlet blinked. [color=33ff99]"Um, thanks..."[/color] She bent over and grabbed her husband out from under the couch. [color=33ff99]Why'd you hide?[/color] She asked him.
"This guy creeps me out. I didn't him to guess that I was who I am." Ivan whispered. Mimic poked his head out from the kitchen and called to Scarlet in a southern accent. "You got any dip to go with these here chips?" He asked, holding up a bag of potato chips he had dug out of the pantry.
