Ivan frowned. "He wanted you because when we talked about The Hawk's stay, you adamantly refused and in return I called it off. He liked the way you told me what you wanted and I did it." He shook his head. "None of this would have happened if he didn't insist on dueling and hope to take you away from me..."
Scarlet realized if she hadn't argued about The Hawk staying with them, none of this would have happened. Her and Ivan would already have been on their honeymoon, The Wolf would still be alive, and she wouldn't have gotten kidnapped. [color=33ff99]"Take me away? You have to know that no matter what happened, no one could ever take me away from you, Ivan."[/color]
Ivan nodded in agreement. "He would have tried with force. I suppose the duel was an excuse for him to earn you so he wouldn't feel remorse about kidnapping you. If you tried to escape, he would go into a blind rage and angrily try to kill both of us. I wasn't about to let that happen." Ivan frowned, looking back through his memories. The Wolf would always pursue whatever he wanted with undying obsession, and if he couldn't have it he would destroy it without regret.
Scarlet hated to admit it, but she was glad now that Ivan had killed The Wolf. She decided to tell Ivan who the person who kidnapped her was. [color=33ff99]"Uh, Ivan...The man who tried killing me...[/color] She frowned as her oice faultered.
A tinge of anger flashed through Ivan's eyes, soon replaced by curiosity. "Yes? What about them?" He was eager to learn more about the predator, wishing to better protect Scarlet.
[color=33ff99]"Um....he's my....uncle."[/color] She clutched her hands together, trying not to let them shake too badly.
"Your uncle?" Ivan was confused. "Your... uncle would do something like that?" Ivan was rather appaled.
Scarlet nodded slowly. [color=33ff99]He hated my dad. They both were in love with my mom, and she chose my dad over my uncle. That caused my uncle to hate my mom....and three years after I was born, he killed them."[/color] She didn't speak of another fear of hers, so she just stopped talking.
Ivan shook his head sadly. "That's terrible; All-consuming hate born of frustration and incubated in jealousy."
