Scarlet, too full to finish the bit of food left on her plate, pushed it to the middle of the table and finished off her apple juice.

As soon as it was all gone, Scarlet's eyes widened and she quickly got up and ran to the bathroom, and just in time.

Ivan chuckled. He gulped down the remainder of his omelette and finished off Scarlet's leftovers before he was done. He drank his orange juice quickly and sat back to wait for the bill.

Scarlet was bent over the toilet for five minutes, but finally her stomach was completely empty. [color=33ff99]What a waste of food,[/color] she mentally grumbled. Standing slowly on shaky legs, she opened the stall door and went to wash her hands and wash out her mouth. She then headed back to the booth, her face a shade or two paler.

Scarlet saw what he said, and insted of saying it to where everyone else around could hear, said with her mind, [color=33ff99]I threw up...a few times.[/color] She sat down and stared at the tabletop.

Ivan drew back in surprise. "We should get home then. You need to rest." Ivan lifted a hand to his cheek and stared blankly for a moment. The gash in his cheek was gone.

Scarlet slowly nodded and stood. When she did, she swayed and braced herself by grabbing onto the table. After the world stopped spinning she headed toward the door, forgetting to pay.

Ivan hurried after her, leaving the money for the food on the table. He wrapped one arm around Scarlet to help her walk. "The money's on the table." Ivan called back to the waitress. Then he turned to Scarlet. "Don't worry Scarlet. I'll get you home."

The figure lounged out in the backseat woke up in time to see the couple leaving. Immediately he vanished. From his undetectable position in the backseat, he waited patiently.

Scarlet snuggled into Ivan's side gratefully. She sghed quietly and tried not to show that she had a horrendous headache. She got into the passenger side of the car and handed Ivan the keys.

Ivan gave Scarlet a reassuring smile before driving out of the parking lot.

The figure leaned forward to whisper in Scarlet's ear, but remembered that she was deaf. Instead, letters made of pure light formed in the air in front of Scarlet. They read simply: "Do you want to save him?"
