When they arrived, Scarlet slowly exited the car and looked around. She saw Ivan with a few men, but being so far away, couldn't really read their lips to see what was being said. As she drew closer, she caught a few words between Ivan and one guy.

You could never imagine how--" He moved his head slightly, so she didn't catch the word "--I am."

She wondered what he had said.

"...So she's quite a looker."

"That's not what I —" She blinked then, and missed the word.

[color=33ff99]So he doesn't think I'm attractive....[/color] She pursed her lips together and swallowed, trying to hide the hurt. [color=33ff99]"I can't do this...I'm not going to marry someone who doesn't think I look good..."[/color]

She spun back around and walked briskly past Jake's car where he was just getting out and just kept walking without looking back.

((I had a ton of fun on my trip, but it's good to be home...))

Ivan looked back. Scarlet was walking away. Wings sprouted from Ivan's back again, and he flew ahead, stopping in front of Scarlet. "What's going on?" He asked, seriously hoping that she was in the mood to talk things over. Inwardly he prayed that Scarlet would let him explain whatever he did.

Smokey shook his head, chuckling. "Ivan's in a heap o' trouble now. And this time it's not somethin' we can help with, like a slugfest."

Scarlet blinked away the tears and shook her head. She brushed past him and kept walking. [color=33ff99]If you don't know, it doesn't matter.[/color] She yelled with her mind.

Ivan flew in front of her again; He wasn't going to let go. He thought about what she had said before walking away. "What did you mean by 'Someone who doesn't think you look good?' If Spring itself were to come to me in the form of a woman with all of spring's beauty and virtue, I wouldn't even consider it; My love lies with you and you alone. After witnessing your beauty, the most beautiful of roses pales in comparison. If you were to leave me, you'd bring my heart with you, and even the ray's of the waking sun would be dark and gloomy in my eyes." Ivan had not thought before speaking. Instead, he conveyed his innermost emotions to the one person with which he hoped to be with for the rest of his life.

Scarlet stared at his mouth as he spoke, and then bit her now quivering lip. She had thought wrong. Those few precious words she had missed had been the vital ones, and so she had overreacted. Sighing, she dropped her chin to her chest and bit back a sigh. [color=33ff99]"I'm sorry,"[/color] she whispered.

Ivan nodded, putting a hand on Scarlet's shoulder. "I won't lie and tell you I understand what I did wrong, but I forgive you for reacting this way... Now if you can handle it, I'd like to be your husband as soon as I possibly can." Ivan grinned. He wasn't quite sure what happened just then, as Scarlet had not told Ivan that she was deaf.

Since Scarlet had had her head lowered, she didn't catch the first half of what he said. But she had raised it and caught the second part. She smiled at him and nodded. [color=33ff99]"I would love to marry you now."[/color] She kissed his cheek.

Smiling his widest, Ivan gently lifted Scarlet and glided toward the aisle. Immediately after Smokey had collected money from the rest of Ivan's friends due to a wager they had over whether or not Scarlet would forgive Ivan for whatever the problem was, Sunny sat down at the piano, popped his knuckles, and began playing the music he had been assigned for the wedding. Ivan was not the least bit nervous; His nerves were completely eased by his love for Scarlet.

At the beginning of the aisle, Scarlet took Jake's arm and they slowly began walking down toward the priest and Ivan. As she gazed into her beloved's eyes, her nerves calmed and she smiled at him in complete love and trust.

Once at the alter, Jake handed Scarlet off and then took a seat.

Smokey, not particularly interested in this part, fiddled with the ring in his pocket. He had never been to a wedding before, so he wasn't particularly sure when to carry in the ring. He assumed that there was a cue of some sort...

Ivan's excitement was building. This was it. The event that he had been looking forward to since the day Scarlet suggested it, and the moment that would mark his undying bond with Scarlet. were mere seconds away.
