Sumi woke and waited a little to see if Carmin would follow, but... The plant boy didn't. The wolf boy let a small sigh, gave the scroll another read, this time at the point that Carmin witnessed, and there he went in once again, appearing out of nowhere next to the real Carmin inside his memories.

"So, in case you wonder... It is safe. That gap is kind of what your eyes are seeing if you have them slightly open. Figured it out because I could see the scroll in my hands peeking through it.", the wolf boy explained on what happened and added "I suspected that places that you didn't see up to this point in your past may hold a way out."

"Sumi" Carmin was relieved to see him again, wiping a tear from his cheek and nearly going to hug the guy before catching himself. "Great." Carmin nodded, happy to hear that there was a safe way out. He glanced at the other him, who was currently having his situation explained to him about how he'd have to work there and tend to the plants until she deemed him to have learned his lesson. The other him started to bawl, but it wasn't like he could comfort him. It was mostly just uncomfortable being there and kind of embarrassing having Sumi there too.

"Um, let's go then..." He went to the gap and tried to do exactly what Sumi had done. The gap looked pitch black to him, but he trusted that it was safe. He took the leap of faith and sure enough, it was all good.

He raised his head from being face down on the bench and looked around. For the first time, he was actually happy to be on Manta Carlos again. He waited for Sumi to join him. He figured he'd shake awake any second.

"Yeah, let's leave. I don't like this witch at all.", and as soon as Carmin would leave, Sumi would follow. In the waking outside the written memory, Sumi still held the scroll, slowly opening his eyes. "That memory bothered me too, to be honest.", the wolf boy reassured the plant one, but something else bugged him too... "How... How did you get this scroll?"

To avoid falling asleep and entering the memories again, he took quick glances at words in it, bouncing from a line to another. "This ability... Could help people. But who owns it?!"

Carmin blushed when Sumi mentioned that the memory bothered him. None of that was ever supposed to be shared with anyone. The fact that his greatest low had just been played out like a movie to someone bothered him a fair amount.

"I just found it? I was looking for a book I left somewhere and it bumped into me." He figured it must've been some weird magic trickery thing that a wizard dropped by mistake.

He looked at Sumi with a skeptical expression. "Help people? I don't know, what do you mean?" Carmin's mind jumped to some sort of crazy therapy thing, but it seemed pretty extreme for that.

"You just found it... And I lost a blank scroll... Couldn't possibly be...", Sumi checked the back of the scroll... The fabric protecting it was the exact same as the one scroll he lost, the same white with a red edge. The wolf boy's wide eyes were a hint that he knew the scroll was the blank one, but... How and when did it get filled with words and images?!

"Oh, simple: Imagine there's somewhere you'd like to see again, or someone. You can just hop into your past via this and see them again. So in case you forgot something important you can return to that point to remember it. I wonder how well it would work on someone with amnesia."
, he rolled up the scroll, for a moment being pensive, "I should have noticed something was off... The scroll was just there after I spent a long time thinking about my other me."

The explanation of how such a thing could be useful made enough sense. The things Sumi said left Carmin more interested in where the scroll came from.

"You're telling me that the scroll came from you? And hold on, it just magically appeared?" This didn't really make any sense to Carmin, though he didn't think Sumi was lying. It was just stupid magic stuff that couldn't actually be explained. "Is that a normal thing for you? Producing cursed scrolls? You shouldn't just leave stuff like that around." He was still pretty flustered over this whole ordeal.

Sumi nodded, held the scroll containing Carmin's memories, then looked to the other hand, giving it some thought. He tried to make another one appear, but all he did was almost pass out from intensely focusing, but coming back to continue his conversation, slightly pale. "Yes, it simply appeared. Might be because of what I already am, coupled with my interest in the past.", it was a jump to conclusion and there was no way it was Carmin that had these powers.

"I didn't know of its power. But might be a Great Deity's gift to me or something, after all I was purified for being stored in a temple until my awakening.", that was a bit of a stretch, but how else would he explain that he could enter and leave holy grounds with the only consequence being that his true nature showed in the form of a wolf boy in white?

Seemed like Sumi was definitely the cause now, but it also seemed like he didn't understand what was going on much better than Carmin did. The bit about the deity and Sumi being stored certainly was peculiar, but he chose not to prod.

"You're gonna have to be careful. If you ever find one of those scrolls again you should put it somewhere safe." Carmin's eyes drifted to the scroll that Sumi currently held. "Uh, by the way, can I have that?" He really didn't want to leave his past written on a scroll with someone else, especially if they could dive in and view it whenever they liked.

Carmin needn't remind him to be careful, Sumi normally was, but he never suspected this scroll contained such power... "And I need to learn to control this so I don't make another one by mistake.", that would be indeed a good reason to take power classes. Since his previous powers he was aware of, a new one certainly needed proper learning.

"Of course you can! It's your memories after all!", Sumi knew he shouldn't hold onto what already belongs to someone else, specially something so personal, giving the scroll to the plant boy without hesitation. And in no moment he thought something bad of Carmin through the brief moment he witnessed the memories in his presence. In truth, he felt bad that he was bound to such curse...

Carmin nodded as Sumi added that he needed to get control of the ability. It sounded like he was going to handle it all well. The only reason their little incident happened was because he'd never seen the ability happen before.

Taking the scroll from Sumi brought Carmin a fair bit of relief. He gripped it pretty tightly to make sure it wouldn't get away on him. "Thanks..." Later on he'd probably have to find a way to dispose of the scroll. It was kind of risky to just leave something like that hidden in his room.

He turned his eyes to the ground and then spoke another request. "Maybe do you think you can keep whatever you saw a secret?"
